Duluth, Minnesota's Horace P. Brouillet Syndicate (later known as Syndicuts, Inc.) was one of a number of stock cuts providers to the letterpress trade in the decades preceding paper, then electronic clip art. Brouillet's "Typeps" catalogs offered a wide range of images covering numerous subjects, as well as cartoons, catch words and automotive logos. Many of these images have been reproduced in a number of royalty-free clip art publications over the years. Twenty-Six of these newly-redrawn catch words are found within Business Helpers JNL in two styles. On the capital keys are the original white-on-black designs, modeled from the vintage source material. The lower case keys have the phrases separated from the decorative ovals and are in black type.

Compact sans, ideal for setting long texts in small or very small type sizes: for packaging, instruction booklets, drug information leaflets and anything else that has to be legible at very small sizes. Lean and rhythmical, designed ideally to be used at less than 8 points (Brevier was the old typefounders’ name for 8-point type), Brevier holds up well even under adverse printing conditions. The apparently geometric letterforms hide Renaissance characteristics, the x-height and openings are very generous and the strokes slightly modulated. In order to offset ink spread – which is inevitable when printing very small sizes of type – Brevier has large white spaces between the letters. All internal angles have deep ink traps and many connections have been left open.

Eurostile® is one of the most important designs from the Italian font designer Aldo Novarese. It was originally produced in 1962 by the Nebiolo foundry as a more complete version of the earlier Microgramma, a caps-only font designed by Novarese and A. Butti. Eurostile reflects the flavor and spirit of the 1950s and 1960s. It has big, squarish shapes with rounded corners that look like television sets from that era. Eurostile has sustained the ability to give text a dynamic, technological aura. It works well for headlines and small bodies of text. Designed by German graphic designer Jochen Schuss. ITC Schuss Hand and ITC Schuss Hand Bold can probably best be described as excellent all around scripts useful for a broad spectrum of advertising purposes as well as for those applications that benefit from a refined handwritten appearance. The characters themselves have a soft, almost “liquid” appearance which is enhanced by the subtle swelling at most of the stroke terminals. The slightly condensed nature of the characters plus a relatively large x-height ensures that both weights are ideal for the advertising arena. An additional feature on ITC Schuss Hand and ITC Schuss Hand Bold are the capital letters which can actually be used on their own in word settings whereas most script capitals are designed just for initialing purposes. The designer has also invested a good deal of careful thought to the way in which a high percentage of the lowercase letter combinations overlap to create an authentic hand-scripted appearance. This, together with the italicized letter forms, will make Schuss Hand and Schuss Hand Bold ideal candidates for those occasions when paper correspondence requires an informal style. Qonora is an innovative new sans-serif text face that combines flowing, almost calligraphic strokes with a post-modern sensibility for a look that works as well on the printed page as it does on screen. The geometrical drawing of Fenomen Slab follows the guidelines set by our other font family Fenomen Sans. It is a perfect companion of Fenomen Sans, as well as being a standalone font family capable of delivering its own expression and aesthetics.
