This typeface design was influenced by the British Rail corporate type introduced in an old lettering instruction book published in Japan. Static looks almost like it was stamped on paper: the black color is not evenly distributed and the background comes through the letters and consciously irregular forms reinforce the effect. The characters do not all have the same height, nor do they stand straight and regularly on the base line.
