According to Hellmut G. Bomm "Nautilus was based on a handwritten type used for the text Li. Das Helle, Klare from the I Ging. "The intention was to create a clear, highly legible typeface. While the even strokes of sans serif types eventually tire the eyes in long texts, the marked stroke contrast of Nautilus lends the type its legibility. The characters were drawn with a broad tipped pen, and like an antiqua type, the forms of Nautilus display a variety of elements. The narrow figures with relatively large spaces between them create an overall open appearance and allow a large quantity of text to fit into a small space. "The headstrong forms of Nautilus make this an excellent display type. The italic weights are independent typefaces with hints of a handwritten character."

Millie is a stressed, geometric script who spends her days as industrial lettering and her nights paired with blackletter on the patches of motorcycle gangs. Millie was weighted by the conventions of broad nib calligraphy, inspired by the Milwaukee Tools logo, and finds herself best used in logos and titles. She was designed to be used on about a 20 degree angle, though she looks just fine on a level plane. By using opentype, many ligatures, and two sets of stylistic alternates, Millie was developed to look great with any string of letters. Access the first stylistic set for a disconnected script look, and the second set for even more connections and fluid script than standard. Millie Round takes the edge off a bit, giving the entire set a more approachable and versatile feel.

Galeana is a flat-sided sans serif typeface that features a closed aperture. The font is a reinterpretation of Latin American-flavored typefaces used for European editorial designs such as Plastique and Zembla magazines. This superfamily consists of 4 sub-families: Compressed, Condensed, Standard and Extended. The heaviest and narrowest variants—created at the early stage of the design process—resemble the slender trunks of the Galenas (African tulip trees). Petroglifos is a dingbats font as a collection of pre-Hispanic petroglyphs of indigenous ethnic Venezuela, most of them are found in signs carved in stone or painted in caves of the pre-Hispanic period, each icon is an accurate representation of these ancestral signs. Muisca, that in its early edition was named as «Muisca Sans», was developed in mid-1997 and based on the graphic concept of pre-Columbian characteristics figures within some of the very few visual elements recovered from the Muisca culture. This ancient pre-Columbian tribe disappeared since the arrival of the Spanish 500 years ago, in what is now the center of Colombia. In fact, the name of the capital Bogotá goes back to Bacatá as primary or village downtown of what was once the imperial capital of the Muisca tribe. This typographic project was submitted as my work for the degree in Graphic Design, obtained in September of that year (at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia), under the creative concept of vindicating the ancient culture and identity through a functional typeface, into a fact without precedent in the country. Muisca was recently edited, arranged and completed, including multilingual diacritic glyphs to be versatile in several languages. Related and inspired by Latin America, Ethnic, Native, Tribal, Mysthical, Handmade, Aboriginal, Pre-Hispanic, Pre-Columbian, Textured, Fantasy. Ideal to be used in logos, display text & titles, games and other design applications that reminds of the Pre-Hispanic art.

Cinque Donne means “Five Women” in Italian. It was inspired by the five sisters in my family as well as a group of five high school friends I have known for 46 years, aka “The Club Girls”. I love going to flea markets and second-hand stores; in fact a lot of the furniture in our home is second hand (or pre-loved, a euphemism I find rather peculiar). I personally believe that buying used products is a good way to help this planet, as no new stuff needs to be made and the old stuff gets a second life. Fleabitten is a ‘western style’ serif font. You could use it to pimp the posters for your line dance festival, but hey, be creative! I am sure you’ll find some good use for this very nice pre-loved font. Yes, pre-loved: I loved it first!

Talbot Type Keymer is inspired by Margaret Calvert's Transport typeface, designed for the British road sign system in the early 1960s. Keymer mixes geometric and humanist traits to achieve a modern, clean, elegant appearance. It is a legible and versatile text and display face available in seven weights. Keymer features an extended character set to include old style numerals, accented characters for Central European languages and bespoke characters in the italic for a more flowing look.

Setsuko finds its origins on the ancient Silk Road, a network of trade routes crossing the continent of Asia, named for the Chinese silk trade which began in the Han Dynasty more than two thousand years ago. Originally designed to brand and package products celebrating the charm and mystery of the Ancient East, the characters in Setsuko are intended to express admiration and respect, not stereotyping or parody hoping to leave room for a designer's creativity and personal interpretation.

Pain de Mie is a soft font, friendly and sweet, kinda creamy, kinda bubbly. A crumpet is a small griddle bread, mostly enjoyed in the UK, North America, Australia and New Zealand. I have never had one, but I have heard of them and I like the name - which is probably Welsh in origin. Lemony Crumpet is a whimsical, handmade font. It is tall & thin, shaky and jumpy and I wouldn’t use it as a poster font because of its delicate properties, but it would look fantastic on book covers, product packaging and websites.
