PB Roman Uncial IIc is a font face designed for imitate Roman uncial writing style found in manuscripts from 1st to 2nd century. All characters are handwritten by use ink and reed pen (calamus), scanned, digitized and optimized for best quality without lost its handwritten visual appearance. Character set support codepages: 1250 Central (Eastern) European, 1252 Western (ANSI), 1254 Turkish, 1257 Baltic. Include also additional characters for Cornish, Danish, Dutch and Welsh language, spaces (M/1, M/2, M/3, M/4, M/6, thin, hair, zero width space etc.), historical characters (overlined Roman numerals, I-longa, historical ligatures for "nomina sacra" and "notae communes") and wide range of ancient punctuation. Spotted amongst the online page scans from a vintage lettering book, the typeface originally called “Didot Moderne” served as the basis for Dual Line Roman JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. Caps Only Fonts.

The Roman alphabet has seen endless variations in interpretations of its classical form, and various wood type styles managed to explore everything from XXX condensed to hyper extended and expanded. This delicate and handsomely proportioned extended Roman was issued by Page Manufacturing Co. in 1872 and released as simply “No. 251” after Page was acquired by Hamilton. It is a rare font to find in print shops, most likely due to the very fine lines that would no doubt be less durable that bolder gothic jobbing fonts. While being quite wide, it still holds the elegant grace of wide Romans such as Craw Modern. This new digitization features a full Western and Eastern European Character set as well as ligatures and alternate characters.

Here's a fresh version of an old favorite, Loose New Roman, from the Schaedler Studio of New York. Easy, breezy and carefree, it's a natural for happy headlines. Both versions of the font contain the complete Unicode Latin 1252 and Central European 1250 character sets.

Designed by Francesco Simoncini and W. Bilz, this design follows Times New Roman in structure, but differs in some details. Unlike Times New Roman, the boldface is a weighted version of the roman.

El Franco is a family designed by Ethan Dunham that represents what Roman lettering looked like in the 16th century. Derived from a typographic sample of Francisco Lucas, 1577, this font captures the feeling of rustic times. It comes in two versions regular and distressed. The distressed version has been weathered to appear old and worn.

Hand lettering of the song title on the 1914 sheet music for “Dear Old Girl” was the working model for Old Songs JNL. A condensed Roman typeface available in both regular and oblique versions, this titling font exhibits a casual, nonconformist design that isn’t quite traditional, nor is it part of the Art Nouveau movement popular at the time.

GHEA Granshan is a super font family. It has 9 upright weights and their Italics. It supports Latin Pro, Armenian, Greek, Cyrillic, Bulgarian & Ukrainian alternatives alphabet systems. The weights from Regular to Bold and their Italics can be used as text fonts. The weights thinner than Regular and thicker than Bold can be used as Display fonts. It is an easily readable fond and the eyes don't get tired while reading. GHEA Granshan has a slight contrast style and at the same time is quite bright and clear.

In searching for a Roman to use, I found there were bits of Bembo, Times, Garamond, etc., that I liked and bits that I did not. So I set out to take the best bits of all my favorite Romans and tried to create the ultimate Roman Typeface.

Forget everything about Times New Roman and all the other classic typefaces! Forget all that and take a bite of Peanut Butter Man!
