There are many script typefaces but there is only one Scripticus. Scripticus is like a chameleon: In whatever surroundings you put it, it adapts itself and looks like it couldn't be anywhere else. Scripticus is dedicated to my high school chemistry teacher who was an expert in just this. While the letterforms come from different inspirations, its aim is the same as the pedagogical aim of my teacher: Combining clarity with a strong personality. Scripticus has a special trick to give it its natural look: Four alternates for each letter and each number plus rotation coding make the glyphs appear in lively melodic flow. In this way even mathematic equations look nice! Scripticus has a lot of OT-features that help it do its job. They are: capital spacing, localized forms, subscript, scientific inferiors, superscript, numerators, denominators, fractions, ordinals, tabular figures, historical forms, ligatures, stylistic alternates, stylistic set and ornaments. Scritta Nuova was born to transpose my personal handwriting and evolved today into a smart typeface that maintains the original feel with improved legibility and visual balance. The steady rhythm and roundness of Scritta Nuova give the impression of a smooth, girlish and gentle writing. It also evokes retro calligraphic styles taught in Italian schools around the 1950s, which might have influenced in one way or another my original handwriting. Note that the capital letters can be nicely set next to each other without overlapping, unlike script typefaces with swashy capitals created as initials.

This font from the same family as Scripio A and Scripio B. The truth it more likely their cousin, very much it is not similar to them. Though looks not so bad.

This is the 100th font released by CheapProFonts, and I wanted to make something special - so I have chosen to upgrade one of the most popular free fonts ever: the one and only Scriptina by the infamous Fredrick “Apostrophe” Nader! After first cleaning up the outlines, spacing and kerning, Scriptina Pro has been expanded with a set of alternate letters without the loops and swashes, using the OpenType contextual alternates feature to switch them around automatically to avoid too many overlapping and repeating elements. You can also manually turn off the loops and swashes with the OpenType titling and swash features respectively. The originals alternate letters have been incorporated as stylistic alternates (and stylistic set 02) and the ligatures as discretionary ligatures if you should want them. The alternate non-script lowercase z is programmed as stylistic set 01. In addition Scriptina Pro has been given the usual CheapProFonts large multilingual character set, of course. I hope many will enjoy the improvements and additional language support. And, naturally: it is still free! Scripio A was the first font which I submitted to MyFonts.com. It is a decorative font. Little bit technical. I wanted to make a font which would be interesting to all. To some extent it has justified my hopes.
