Cyrillic Latino is a combination of the cyrillic and latin version of my Bodoni-Classic-Text typefaces. The typeface comes in very handy if you want text to look Russian but can be read by everyone. Mayblossom was named after an old French fairytale (The Princess Mayblossom),which is quite similar to the tale of Sleeping Beauty. Mayblossom font is a fairytale font. It was made with a magic wand (with a Unicorn hair core) onto centuries old parchment. The font was then blessed by 12 lovely fairies. Of course, I had the evil thirteenth one kidnapped before she could cast her spell. In other words, if your work requires a certain lightness, a pinch of fairy dust and a sprinkling of magic, then Mayblossom is your best pick.

Spillsbury was inspired by some examples of 1920s signwriting (principally seen on the side of some vintage vans-good thing they were in a photograph and not on the move!). Spillsbury draws inspiration from these sources to provide a unique combination of legibility and flair, which echoes the charm of advertising and publicity material from the halcyon days of the 1920s. A basic range of four display faces os offered - Regular, Plain (not all that plain really!), Shaded and Shadowed. In a new departure for Greater Albion, three pairs of 'Duo' faces are also offered. These are designed to be used in pairs-and only sold on that basis for little more than the cost of a single face-to provide for two-coloured typographic design, enabling the recreation of those evokative two coloured blocked lettering styles that were used to such good effect in the past. The French lettering book Album de Lettres Arti (1949) displayed a number of examples of unique, stylized typefaces. One in particular features a multi-line sans serif in a classic Art Deco style with open-ended characters. This design is now available as Sign Studio JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

I bought a pair of green gumboots (or Wellingtons) the other day. I have a little wilderness outside and it is quite muddy, so I thought a pair of boots would be a good buy. Gumboots is a handmade comic font. It comes in a regular and a fat style and you can use it for just about anything that needs a bit of comic relief.

The hand lettered title on the 1911 sheet music for “That Railroad Rag” was designed in a block style letter with spurred serifs. This simple typographic layout evokes the imagery of early rail transportation although the song itself is was a ‘modern’ composition of then-popular ragtime music. Railway Station JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

A 1963 issue of Billboard Magazine contained an ad for Jimmy Smith (along with some other artists on the same record label) that was hand-lettered in a free-form style similar to show-card ‘one-stroke’ typographic design. While watching the 1947 holiday classic “Miracle on 34th Street”, one scene in particular presented a chance to develop a retro type design. ‘Kris Kringle’ suggests to a mother visiting with her child in the Macy’s toy department to try Gimbel’s for a toy she couldn’t find at the store. The news of this behavior reaches Mr. Macy himself, who embraces the practice as a brilliant marketing strategy. A number of departments are then presented with reference books containing competitor ads, and the visual of the cover stating “R.H. Macy & Co. Shopping Guide for the Convenience of Our Customers” shows on screen. The thin, Art Deco sans serif monoline with a few serif-like hooks added onto some characters became the basis for Shopping Guide JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.
