Martian Grotesk is a large typeface family originally designed for the screen which consists of a variable font with 2 axes of variation and 63 styles: Condensed to Ultra Wide, Thin to Ultra Black. Aesthetics The font style is characterized by some brutality and assertiveness. Overhanging terminals, a closed aperture, and an almost complete lack of contrast lead to this effect. Additionally, some elements of the letters are especially enlarged. This font gives any text the impression of being a “signature” style. Nevertheless, we still maintain the golden mean between its rebellious nature and readability. Perfect for web development We created Martian Grotesk for the web and digital project world. When laying out web pages, frontend developers are constantly faced with the fact that uneven metrics do not allow text to be evenly placed on some design element, for example, on a button. Instead, they have to compensate in some way, like making the top padding smaller and the bottom padding larger in CSS. This little deal really hurts. Also, if your project adheres to design system principles, you might be unable to stand a lack of systematic approach when working with fonts. We researched and calculated vertical metrics and set them up in a way that guarantees equal space above the cap height and under the baseline. This enables the text labels to be evenly placed on buttons, inputs, lists, and forms. In addition, we found a proper ratio of the letter heights, so, with commonly used font sizes—10, 15, and 20 pixels—the glyph heights stick to the pixel grid. As a result, the letter shapes become sharper, which reduces the load on the reader's eyes and simply looks much better. The typeface also comes equipped with OpenType and TrueType hinting, and Martian Grotesk appears legible on most platforms, even when being rendered in small sizes. When coupled together, all the above features make Martian Grotesk a reasonable choice for any user interface design. Roadmap Martian Grotesk right now is a work-in-progress product. The font is completely ready for professional use, however, many great features are still ahead! For example, support for Extended Cyrillic characters, and italics. Many decades back, churches, schools and other buildings with a need to display an outdoor message often chose a sign making system utilizing characters silk screened onto metal pieces in a block chamfer style. Each piece had a crimp in the top of the metal which formed a hook to fit over the existing rails of a message panel. This allowed for a finished sign to be displayed within minutes, and a quick change of information was not very time-consuming. A popular version of these signs provided white letters and numbers on black backgrounds. This was the model for Announcement Board JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions. There are two different width blank panels on the broken and solid bars for those who wish to kern the letters tight to form a ribbon, however they were designed to have slight spacing in order to emulate the hand assembly of those vintage sign panels.

Undulated is another typeface family from IngrimayneType that explores the possibilities of alternating letters sets. Undulated is similar to the typeface Undulate. Both alternate two sets of characters to form a wavy line of text. This alternating is done automatically in applications that support the OpenType feature contextual alternatives (calt). However, the peaks and valleys of the wave are in the middle of the characters in Undulate while in Undulated the peaks and valleys are at the right and left edges of each character. The waves in Undulated seem more chaotic and less soothing than the waves in Undulate. Undulated has monospaced and monoline letters. The letter spacing is tight to accentuate the ripple pattern. The family includes an outline style that can be used in a layer above the regular style to add color. The unusual patterns that Undulated gives are eye-catching and may be useful for advertising or signage and in other places where one wants attention-grabbing lettering.

At first glance, »Angulosa M.8« is one of those fonts that a technician or engineer would probably draw. And yet it differs fundamentally from typefaces constructed in this way. The right angle forms the basic element of the »Angulosa M.8«, but that's about it with the pure mathematics. Serif-like upstrokes and downstrokes on some letters improve readability, and carefully used slants makes the appearance a little friendlier. The proportions are not based on any mathematical principle, but are derived from freehand writing of the letterforms with a broad quill. In terms of style, »Angulosa M.8« belongs most closely to the modernist, constructivist typeface attempts, such as those undertaken at the Bauhaus in the 1930s. The styles of »Angulosa M.8« range from "Condensed" to "Expanded", from "Light" to "Black", plus the respective oblique form, which in this font is slanted to the left. All variants can be adjusted continuously in the variable font: the font width ranges from 50 to 150, font weight from 300 to 900, upright [0] and italic [1]. The »Angulosa M.8« supports all European languages including Eastern and Central European, Turkish, Greek and Cyrillic.

FF Nort™ has all the design attributes that make for an exceptionally versatile print and web typeface – and it benefits from a distinct personality. Equally at home in long-form text copy or billboard size headlines, the family knows few boundaries. There is also a handcrafted neo-grotesque quality to the design, giving FF Nort a friendly mien and separating it from other industrial strength sans serif typefaces. Terminals are clipped at 90° angles to the stroke and counters are slightly condensed, saving space with no loss of legibility. Drawn by Jörg Hemker, the inspiration for FF Nort came from Transport, the typeface designed for Britain’s highway signage. Transport is formal, intellectual, and a model for modern street signage, but it was not intended for small sizes or continuous reading. Hemker took the basic structure of Transport and rebuilt it into a design that’s perfect for a wide range of contemporary hardcopy and digital imaging projects.

Fakir | A Hindu ascetic or religious mendicant, especially one who performs feats of magic or endurance. The well known feats performed by them include sitting steadily on a bed of nails and walking on burning coals. Blackletter | A script used throughout Western Europe from approximately 1150 to 1500. It continued to be used for the German language until the 20th century. Fakir, a blackletter with a holy kiss is a contemporary interpretation of gone letterforms with origin in blackletters. More precisely, we based the construction on broadnip textura, with lots of broken, edgy, interrupted strokes – try to sit on a nail bed and you’ll know why fakirs like to read just these kind of fonts! After being abandoned for some time (not accepted, nearly forbidden), we would like to give our generation a blackletter from here and now. So Fakir is not a revival, but an all new 21st-century blackletter. Fakir is a set of edgy text and display fonts, ranging from tight and heavy to light and wide. It has 11 fonts, all supporting Underware Latin Plus character set, that covers 219 languages.

I have created some quirky letters and over 100 ligatures + the font comes in four weights - light, regular, medium & italic. A three-dimensional all-cap font for title use, Thorowgood Sans Shaded was released by the Fann Street Foundry of W. Thorowgood & Co. in 1839. Interestingly, it more closely resembles Figgins' Four-Line Emerald Sans-Serif Shaded of 1833 than Fann Street’s own Grotesque Shaded of 1834 (with light and shadow reversed). The idea of a shaded font is of an outline font whose letters have each been extruded through a die and then viewed from the lower right to reveal the third dimension. That third dimension has also been referred to as a shadow. Vincent Figgins' 1815-release of a shaded serif typeface was the first known of many shaded faces, as the other foundries rushed to bring out their own versions. Thorowgood Sans Shaded may be gainfully used today as a eye-catching headline font, just as it was so popularly used in the early nineteenth century. To assist with the usual all-cap letter-spacing problem, the following pre-kerned pairs are included: AT, AV, AW and AY.
