But if kooky goofy is your thing, we're selling it at the astroluxtype booth. Koo Koo Puff Regular Condensed is the companion font to Koo Koo Puff Light Condensed. Both fonts includes an upper and lowercase glyph set. Regular Condensed has a different upper and lowercase “O” from the original Koo Koo Puff Light Condensed. Spacing metrics are looser, as well. The font is not a match for Light Condensed, it is a separate font. Both are headline display faces, for optimum usage it is recommended to be set at 48 points or larger in size. Tusker Grotesk is a headline typeface designed for robust and high-impact use. The initial inspiration for Tusker came from postwar typefaces like Haettenschweiler, Impact and Helvetica Inserat which use very high x-heights. Other influences in the condensed end of the Tusker family are old grotesques like Folio Extra Condensed and Stephenson Blake Elongated Sans No.1 with their flat terminals and closed-up apertures. Then as the widths in Tusker grow, the lettering takes some more inspiration from gothic style sans such as Inland Type's Title Gothic No.8, while maintaining the optical weight established in the narrow end of the family. Each width set is duplexed, stackable and is ideal for headlines, logos and bold attention-grabbing editorial design. Tusker has extended latin coverage ideal for western, central and eastern European languages.

This is a monospace font for the Braille alphabet. The idea came while exploring new ways to display the regular braille glyph ( 3 rows of 2 dots ). The glyph design is inspired by "stackable multiple board" games like the famous Vulcan chess (from Star Trek series) and the Qubic (3D tic-tac-toe). The stack is made from 3 levels, each level is a 3x3 grid with 2 "playable" cells (South-West and North-East). Each cell can be either empty, filled by a white square token or a black square token. The 3D effect is obtained by means of the classic isometric perspective. Lowercase letters use black tokens, while uppercase letters use white tokens. Most special characters (e.g. digits, *$#@, []{}() etc.. ) are also provided for special usages like program source code (see poster 5).

Melancholia is a subtle and beautiful sans-serif inspired by calligraphic letterforms. The name describes a feeling of deep sadness, an intense sensitivity to the world. The design of Melancholia is an attempt to introduce some of that wistfulness into the sans-serif form, a typographic classification that is often characterised by an austere functionality. Designed by German graphic designer Jochen Schuss. ITC Schuss Hand and ITC Schuss Hand Bold can probably best be described as excellent all around scripts useful for a broad spectrum of advertising purposes as well as for those applications that benefit from a refined handwritten appearance. The characters themselves have a soft, almost “liquid” appearance which is enhanced by the subtle swelling at most of the stroke terminals. The slightly condensed nature of the characters plus a relatively large x-height ensures that both weights are ideal for the advertising arena. An additional feature on ITC Schuss Hand and ITC Schuss Hand Bold are the capital letters which can actually be used on their own in word settings whereas most script capitals are designed just for initialing purposes. The designer has also invested a good deal of careful thought to the way in which a high percentage of the lowercase letter combinations overlap to create an authentic hand-scripted appearance. This, together with the italicized letter forms, will make Schuss Hand and Schuss Hand Bold ideal candidates for those occasions when paper correspondence requires an informal style. Originally released by the Stephenson Blake foundry in England, Doric is modeled on one of the sans serifs of William Caslon IV, who was the first to interpret sans serif letterforms into a typeface (1816).
