Introducing a retro grotesque called "Stengazeta". The name means "wall newspaper" - this is very popular in USSR genre of handmade artwork that is actually a mix of newspaper and poster. During the Soviet era you could find it everywhere - in factories, schools, research labs, and even in army and police. Sometimes it was a kind of official propaganda, but often just a way of expressing of creativity of co-workers. The letterforms are bold and grotesque with strong handmade feeling. The Craftsman font is a faithful reproduction of the logo, or Title typeface used for Gustav Stickley's "Craftsman" Magazine, the foremost journal of the American Arts & Crafts Movement during its publication years of 1901-1916. It is an All-Caps font, with condensed and closely-spaced characters, specifically designed for titles and headlines. The "Craftsman" font is available in two versions: "Craftsman Regular" and "Craftsman Outline." Each is two fonts in one, in the sense that the capital letters are contained in a hand-drawn box (as on the cover of "The Craftsman" Magazine). Lower-case characters are identical, but without the box. Thus, the two may be used separately, or in combination, to achieve a desired effect.

Annonce is a digitization and expansion of a 1912 Johannes Wagner Foundry classic called Aurora Grotesk, which also circulated later on in metal under the name Annonce. This typeface is inspired by the angular shapes of runes; the early writing of Northern European peoples. The letters have been given an eroded finish, as though they were carefully carved a thousand years ago, and weathered over time. This font includes at least two versions of every letter one simple, one more ornate, with all alternate characters for other European languages. The Alternates Font includes additional variations of some characters as well as Ligatures, astrological and elemental symbols. More Nordic symbols are available in the Valknut font.

The inspiration for this font (as well as the name!) comes from a London cafe I visited years ago. I was fascinated with the handwritten menu - irregular and awkward, yet refreshingly charming. I did my best to recall that particular look by adding 4 slightly different versions of each lowercase letter. The name of the font comes from the speed of the waiter...or the lack of it! But luckily he took his time, otherwise I wouldn't have had the time to really look at the handwritten menu! :)
