The Stacking type system has been used since before wood type age. We count three inspirations for the László font family. The upper case was inspired by Yomar Augusto’s amazing font Unity, used on last year’s German World Cup Team jerseys; the lower case from a few letters a poster for a Bauhaus show. The name László is an homage to László Moholy-Nagy, peerless Bauhaus designer and teacher. The László type family is stripped down to the typographic core, lean, clean and definitely machined, at home in either a formal or casual setting, i.e. you can take László anywhere. Inspired by watching the World Cup and the German Team’s jerseys. Very clean, simple, Bauhaus-style design, European and highly legible. Usage recommendations Automobile ads, anywhere a European feel is desired.

Eponymous is an Egyptian-style typeface with chunky, scalloped serifs. It is available in five weights in both roman and italic. I have always loved slab serif type and have created Eponymous to fulfil a yearning for a versatile, stylish and contemporary slab face. A key design characteristic is the implementation of scalloped serifs which, to me, imbues the typeface with a distinctive personality. Make use of the Open Type features that are part of Eponymous. For a start, you can implement some stylistic alternates, so, if the main characters don’t quite suit your concept, try activating Stylistic Set 1. There’s also a full set of small caps included. You can mix and match these characters with regular lowercase to create some interesting unicase typography. Of course, all characters have complementing diacritics, enabling multi-language support. Codec Pro is the newest incarnation of the Codec family, developed in 2017 by Francesco Canovaro, Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini and Andrea Tartarelli as a research on the subtleties and the variations on the theme of the geometric sans-serif design. The original typeface has been completely redesigned and expanded to feature a wide range of eleven weights, from the hairline thin to the bulky fat, while the character set has been extended to include not only latin, cyrillic and greek but also arabic, farsi and urdu scripts. A veritable swiss-knife for the designer, Codec Pro also includes a wide range of alternates and stylistic sets that cover all the subfamilies and the moods of the original type system. So while the standard set (Codec Cold) has terminals cut parallel or perpendicular to the baseline, emphasizing geometry for a more constructed look, stylistic set 4 (Codec Warm) uses open diagonal cuts and humanist shapes to give the typeface a gentler, warmer feeling. Set 3 (Codec Cold Logo) comes alive with funky ligatures, while Set 5 (Codec Warm Logo) stretches uppercase characters horizontally for a dynamic, unexpected effect

The challenge was to create a single typeface weight that was versatile enough without a large font family, and could be put to use with a variety of media formats, from book text to advertising spreads, all while remaining legible and delightful to read. Originally designed between the years 2002 and 2004, the inspiration for the design originated from the concepts of Stefano Giovannoni's uber-contemporary industrial designs and architecture. Where to start with such a font design was obvious to Diphthong Regular's designer, Max Hancock; to create a transitional, slab serif form that was corky and serious, interchangeably. The characteristics of the font followed a postmodern playfulness, popular in many sub-cultures looking for an alternative to the harsher, cut-shape, deconstructivist styles. And, the unique objective behind the design was to make it so that the usual difficult combination of the t and h (hth) in language was legible as well as pleasant to look at, thus the reason for the name. The soft, subtle roundings add a flair of utilitarianism while the cut edge ascenders help to blur the line between cute and diametrical mannerisms.

Imagine being printer in the early nineteenth century, your stock isn’t the finest, your lead characters are worn out: Voilá Kandidat Rough. But wait, Kandidat isn’t the usual scan-an-old-book,-put-the-glyphs-in-a-font-and-you’re-done-font. Kandidat Rough has a variety of whopping 14 alternates for most characters. Our algorithm changes the letters automatically. All you have to do is turn on Contextual Alternates in your layout app. The algorithm is the best we’ve seen so far, and it’s so good that even same words appear in different forms. And should by coincidence words have the same glyphs, just assign a different Style Set to the first letter, and all other letters in the word will change as well (well, it depends a bit on your software). The mechanism isn’t perfect and maybe we stretched OpenType capabilities a bit over the top, but we yet haven’t seen any better routine for switching letters on the fly. Is it worth to mention that Kandidat Rough not only speaks English, but also German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Croatian, Turkish and most likely some other languages? Maybe. And now imagine you are sick of the rugged print experience Kandidat Rough delivers: go for Kandidat. This is our Scotch-ish ancestor the Rough version was made from. A sturdy, friendly, round, warm friend from the beginning of the nineteenth century. A bit dark, maybe. You will like it. Kandidat has the aforementioned type set plus complete Baltics, Eastern Europe and Cyrillic. Plus a couple of gimmicks like fleurons, stars, circled numbers, arrows, and, and, and… Kandidat Regular additionally has small caps for Latin based scripts (not Cyrillic). The spick and span Kandidat font set also consists of Regular, Italic and Bold cuts. The bold cut is on the very bold side and can nicely be used for headings, whereas Italic is a great companion for Regular. It took us some time and trouble to finish this project, but after all we are very proud of our little feat and hope you will enjoy Kandidat as much as we do. Enjoy!

Bigelow Rules Pro is a serif display face that mixes everything up. It shuffles between lowercase and smallcap letterforms, it lifts the baseline to center beside the Capitals, some letters have a slight swash flair while others maintain a neutral stance, and yet it has a smallcaps feature that drops the smallcaps down to the baseline. ITC Abaton, by Argentinian designer Luis Siquot, is an exercise in geometry and simplification. “It is done,” says Siquot, “with few elements, with modules of only straight lines (horizontals, verticals and diagonals of almost 45 degrees). Drawing the I and the O, I got the basic elements, and so started the fight between strict geometry and optical impression, until I obtained the rest of the characters.” The basic rectangular form is characterized by wedge-shaped serifs, almost like caps on the heads and feet of the letters. “Abaton has the 'spirit' of 19th-century faces used on money bills or postage stamps, but the realization is totally different,” Siquot explains. Abaton is a “shaded” typeface of caps and slightly smaller caps, upright and slightly condensed in form. Although the letterforms are legible at small sizes, the shading tends to clog up if it gets too small, so Abaton is happiest as a distinctive display face.

GroteskRemix monospace is the monospaced version of the GroteskRemix - Grotesk revisited, notably used for the (Latin) communication of Typojanchi 2019. It availabe in 3 different weights: light, regular and medium. Language: latin glyphs

ATC Harris is a a workhorse monospaced geometric font with a focus on simplicity and legibility. Font contains 580+ glyphs, full alphabet, ligatures, numerals, accents and punctuation. ATC Harris was released in 2016.

Hypocrite is a wide and black display serif face with a hint of decay and black humor. Handle with care. Shelf-life unlimited. Designed by Alexander Lubovenko and released by Paratype in 2017.

Courtold Shadow is another of our June 2017 ‘Wood Type’ collection. There is something alive and energetic about these ‘rushing’ oblique letter forms with their diagonal shadow. Ideal for signage and poster work.

Designed at ParaType (ParaGraph) in 1995 by Tagir Safayev. Based on informal pen handwriting. For use in advertising and display typography. A set of Western characters was added in 2011 by Gennady Fridman.

MUGUET is a reinvention of the Skin typeface designed by Max Prive in 2016. MUGUET features reimagined capital letters and improved kerning. It’s ultra clean, ultra minimalist with a hint of retro aesthetics.

Slivky is a condensed rounded font family. It includes 6 styles: All Caps, All Caps Swash, Regular, Regular Swash, Small Caps, Small Caps Swash. Swash fonts have large capitals in the style of handwritten / script fonts. This cute rounded font is quite versatile due to the different styles. Good for logos, packaging, posters, advertisements and more.

This is a grotesque typeface which was derived from an older more simple version designed back in 2000. Bulletin Sans Pro is distinguished by its selective deep cuts which give this typeface a robust and contemporary look. These cuts become more apparent at larger sizes while they create a more subtle effect at smaller sizes. For intense titles try the black version. When space and legibility for long texts are critical, use the lighter versions. The family consists of 10 fonts—from black to light—including true italics. Waba Pronounced ‘Vah-bah’, is a font family that I designed. The name comes from a historical variation on the Estonian word ‘vaba’ – meaning ‘free’, or 'at liberty'. Back in 2017 I visited the Estonian Print & Paper Museum in Tartu to see its great collection of type (well worth a visit!). While I was there I saw some big woodcut blocks of Reklameschrift Herold - a super Art Nouveau/Jugendstil style display font. The Print & Paper Museum's collection covers both Latin and Cyrillic faces and as a foreigner in these parts I'm kind of fascinated by the exoticism of Cyrillic. How it is different but the same to the Latin letters I take for granted (as a humble Englander – no excuses). Not to mention, Jugendstil with its imitation of natural form, reverse-weights and looping-delicious curves (like you've left the window open all summer and the garden plants are climbing in). This mix of Jugendstil, Cyrillic letters and the beautiful historical border town of Tartu inspired me to start drawing Waba. Trimming the serifs from Herold, simplifying those angles and expanding the category of weights, then taking look at the magical logic of Berthold Block and doing a few things that just seemed right at the time – Waba is a bit of love letter to Estonia, the Baltics and the visual history of Eastern Europe. Waba Monogram Waba also contains a monogram face, which allows you to create any monogramming latin and cyrillic. Simply type out your 2-3-4 characters in Waba Monogram, making sure Contextual Alternates is turned on them voila! Monograms can be customised manually using the OpenType select-pop-up in Adobe. Also included are a few Discretionary Ligatures for Mc, De, Von etc. Monograms work best when Contextual Alternates is turned on.

Our new Hamburger font is based on the old classic Brush Script design with many new additions. We've added many alternates to the design including lowercase swash tail letters, swash underscores and a few alternate uppercase letters. Upright scripts are popular these day so new to this old type design is a near upright script version, a lot of hand work went into producing it. One of the biggest problems with the old Brush Script font is that people use it as all caps, which doesn't look good because of the extended swash on the top left side of the caps letters. We've fixed that problem by making an all caps version where the caps in the lowercase position have the top left swash tucked in to help the letters display better as an all caps font. We've also created a small caps version, again the small caps lowercase have all the top left swashes tucked in to bring the letters closer together for a better display. Also new to this font are two higher x-height versions that are ideal for signage. The first is Hamburger X which stands for extra x-height and the second is Hamburger SPX which stands for super x-height. Both of these higher x-height fonts are suitable for signage on a building, billboard and vehicle lettering where you're looking for faster readability from moving traffic. We've designed a new lowercase b and moved the original to an alternate position. We've also redesigned the uppercase C bringing the bottom up to the baseline and moved the original C to an alternate position. The original lowercase g was open at the top, we've closed it and we're not offering the original g as an alternate.

Sealt Typeface is inspired by the oldest saltworks in Eastern Europe, founded in 1390 in Drohobych. Sealt means salt in Old English, so most letters are rough and sharp like salt crystals and seem to be carved out of the rock.
