ArchiLogo is not a regular outline-font. It has a stencil element to it and it’s a kind of indirect, because the font is basically the space between the lines. You have to read between the lines, so to speak. It’s like one of the key elements in architecture: the space between the walls. Here’s where type design meets architecture! The new version, ArchiLogo 3.0, has been improved slightly and 13 glyphs have been added to a total of 85 characters. It is still a free font. Because of the popularity of this font I decided to introduce ArchiLogo Pro. Indeed, the pro version of ArchiLogo. Besides the basic Macintosh Character Set the supported languages are Latin 1, Latin 2: Eastern Europe, Turkish, Windows Baltic. It grew to over 300 glyphs.

Solantra is a solidly crafted handwritten script. I’ve long felt that beautiful writing is more pleasing to the eye than the more attention grabbing swashes and flourishes. That being said, both have their role in design and Solantra has a large slice of each. Solantra combines vintage style handwriting with all its quirks and English Roundhand of that same era. The result is a solid setting script filled with charm and personality. With default Adobe Illustrator settings for Ligatures and Contextual Alternates active, the vintage charm is in full display. Want to add more flair? There are loads of more embellished letters inside the full version. Solantro takes into account how scripts are actually written so that connections from letter to letter are more fluid and rhythmic than the average script font. In natural script/handwriting most letters end at the bottom right and move up to connect with the next. Some letters like o, v, and w, however; end at the top right. Rather than force these letters to dip down and go back up they should ideally connect from that upper right point. This is accomplished through a series of alternate letters and ligatures with extensive contextual feature programming. So, for example, you might get one version of a ligature in the middle of a word and a different one at the beginning or end of that word. Solantra also takes into account another often overlooked feature of natural handwriting. When you write you inevitably pick your pen up from the paper at times. This is often just to reposition the hand, but in the days of writing with dip pens this was also needed to attain a fresh supply of ink. Having these occasional breaks in connections makes the writing less static and more rhythmic. While the Basic versions are limited to a standard character set and several ligatures and alternates for better settings of text, the full pro versions contains 1292 glyphs and an abundance of features. Even with numbers there are options like Oldstyle numbers, fractions, and ordinals. Central European language support is included as well as some select ligatures that use accents. New Age Gothic is an original design by Alex Kaczun. It is a contemporary gothic design based on generous proportions and clean crisp lines. Ideally suited for easy reading and long lines of copy. The concept for the design came from a previously successful font family Contax Pro. Alex felt that the skeleton for Contax Pro was ideally suited to modify the design into a true gothic companion typeface series. Numerous modifications where made to the body proportions, stems and shapes. Serifs where added reminiscent to Copperplate Gothic to solidify the overall design. The result is a truly unique modern gothic font. Unlike other typefaces, New Age Gothic incorporates uniform stems throughout the capitals, lower case and figures. This gives the design a uniform appearance in overall color and strength. There is a perfect visual balance between inter-letter spacing, stem weights and proportions. The large Pro font character set, which supports most Central European and many Eastern European languages, also include small caps to compliment the old style figures. As a result, the design is ideally suited for display copy as well as text composition. In the near future, Alex plans to expand the typeface to include a broad range of weights along with italics.

P22 Albemarle is a smooth reworking of the popular rough textured Roanoke font. The texture change gives this style a much more elegant effect, yet retains its skilled capturing of historical handwriting. Albemarle Pro features at least one alternate for all Caps and many lower case characters. The Pro font also features a full CE character set and more with over 600 glyphs.

Steve Jackaman & Ashley Muir. Packard Old Style is based on lettering drawn by Oswald Cooper for the Packard Motor Company (ATF 1913). The bold weight is credited to Morris Fuller Benton (ATF 1916), but it is highly probable that Benton did the adaptation for both weights. Packard Old Style Pro contains all the high-end features expected in a quality OpenType Pro font.

It was used in parts of Transylvania until the 1850s, although it was banned by Istvan, the first Christian king of the Hungarians (Szekel), in line with an order to "destroy all pre-Christian inscriptions". Hungarian runic script was usually written on wood-stone pieces in the bustrofedon style. In this method, the writing was written consecutively from right to left and from left to right. This article is available in Bosnian, Carpathian and Glozel editions. Whenever possible, I will present the fonts in these versions.

Thirty years after its first appearance, Jovica Veljović has produced ITC New Veljovic Pro, a completely revised edition of his first typeface, ITC Veljovic (1984). Prof. Veljović has tapped into all the experience he has garnered over the past decades; by carefully adjusting the proportions of the characters he has provided the new typeface with a more harmonious presence. The serifs have been subtly curtailed and the letters made slightly more condensed. Some new features of ITC New Veljovic are the double-story “g” with its completely closed loop and the more open forms of the “c” and “e”. In the italic variants, the latter is much rounder. Thanks to Veljović’s outstanding work, the optimized ITC New Veljovic can now be used in all contemporary applications. The new Condensed style saves considerable space when it comes to setting longer texts. The Display versions show off the striking, crystal-clear shapes of the design at their best in larger point sizes.

Pleasant Evening JNL was modeled after an Art Nouveau serif typeface named ‘Racine’ [found in the 1881 Barnhart Bros. & Spindler type specimen book] and is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Claude Duflos was a French engraver and printmaker at the end of the 1600s. He produced a great number of beautiful plates, executed principally with the graver very neatly finished. At the base of his work we can appreciate his legible lettering carefully executed with his particular ductus. During this period three different hands were developed in France: Ronde (an script deriving from “Civilité”), “Lettre Italianne” and Bâtarde Coulée that is a modification of ronde. The hand of joined letters, which lent itself to a rapid writing, became a model for English round hand or copperplate style. CDuflos is our typographic interpretation of the lettering style produced by Claude Duflos. CDuflos is presented in two versions: Basic and Extended Pro, which include diacritics for Central European languages. The Pro version also comes with a set of decorative glyphs including ligatures, alternates and swashes, including terminal letters and a set of ornaments.
