Since the release of Wood Bonnet Grotesque No.4 the font became popular for packaging and adverts. But the font styles were limited to one worn and one clean font in a medium weight only. Bonnet Grotesque Nr [Narrow] will fill this gap. It’s based on Wood Bonnet Grotesque No.4 but slightly modernized with sharp corners. Some letters need more space now – so tracking is not the same. The Medium family style shares the same weight as the wood font version.

Linotype Feltpen is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. Brass Rail JNL is a novelty font, with its name derived from two key components of the source material. It was modeled from examples of vintage small letters stamped out of brass with "rails" above and below each character to fit within a slot. The most likely use of these letters would have been for either decorative initials or small merchandising signs (similar examples of both have been seen in the past). From these few examples comes a typeface with numerals, punctuation and an extended character set.

Magazin ST is powerful but delicate. What fascinated me seeing, a couple of letters, in Bob Roy Kelly's book (American Wood Type:1828-1900) were the little squares in the corners that represent a glow from lighting coming from below and from the right. Such ambiguity excited me and I thought that today with digital resources it wouldn't take long to do it. Seeing it working is excellent. Look In the posters what it is for and the effects it produces, including the sensation of relief.- L.S.

Changing Times JNL was inspired by the hand lettering on the cover of the 1929 sheet music for "Wedding Bells (Are Breaking Up that Old Gang of Mine)". While the font’s name is an extremely vague reference to the subject of the song itself, it also represents the fact that the lettering style (still reflecting some Art Nouveau influence) welcomes the dawning of the Art Deco movement with the thick-and-thin line letter forms. The type design is available in both regular and oblique versions.
