Emerge BF was inspired by Admiral, c.1900, from the Keystone Type Foundry. Its relatively condensed proportions allow for a close fit in a distinctive, yet highly legible form. It's a great choice for headlines and text settings (where it shows a beautifully crisp, typographic color) on book covers, magazine advertisements, posters and so forth.

Varese Outlined is the perfect font for giving content a retro, dimensional, and playful feel. Use it for headlines or short body text for an optimistic or nostalgic tone. It comes in two variations, outlined and shadow. It has standard uncolored and colored options. Please see the slides to know what each color font is named. This geometric and modular typeface was inspired by Italian posters of the 1920s and 1930s. Its design playfully explores the boundaries between unity and variety. The blocky characteristics lend it well to tightly composed text either horizontally or vertically. The lowercase is similar in form to the uppercase, yet many of the lowercase letters have interior spaces (counterforms). It comes with standard ligatures; ff, fi, fl, ffl and three alternate glyphs for number 1. The color fonts in Varese Outlined are vector-based and in the fully scalable SVG OpenType format. Color fonts are supported by Photoshop 2017, Illustrator and InDesign 2018, and QuarkXPress 2018 (and later versions). Those who do not want a color font should purchase the files simply named “Regular” and “Outlined”. These will not have any color words in the names. Rolf is a modern font of condensed typeface, Rolf is a narrow neutral geometric font designed for headlines and posters. Rolf has expanded Latin coverage to be ideal for Western, Central and Eastern European languages.

The Amiga is a family of home computers originally developed by Amiga Corporation as an advanced game console. Development on the Amiga began in 1982. Commodore International introduced the machine to the market in 1985, after having bought Amiga Corp. The machine was ahead of its time, sporting a custom chipset with advanced graphics and sound capabilities, and a sophisticated multitasking operating system.

The Flyer font family consists of two very heavy condensed sans serif faces, Black Condensed and Extra Black Condensed. Excellent for headlines or packaging, Flyer font is geometric and quite similar to Tempo Heavy Condensed.

In one of our yearly type hunts, we came across the ancestor of this font, much wider and more decorative, with fine outside shading. Condition was poor so we did the obvious, cutting out the excess decoration and condensing the face optically. It reeks of dancing girls and drunken sailors and other colorful attributes of Old San Francisco.

Willow is an Adobe Originals typeface designed in 1990 by Joy Redick for the Adobe Wood Type series. Willow is a condensed typeface modeled on nineteenth-century wood types known as Clarendons (wood type Clarendons do not resemble the English metal types of that name). Clarendon condensed faces were originally so well-designed that words or a line of display type have an even color that is remarkable for wood types. Taken from proofs of type in the Rob Roy Kelly Collection housed at the University of Texas at Austin, Willow can be used for display work such packaging, advertising, and posters.

Cloudbuster is K-Type’s take on the mid twentieth century style of extra condensed slabs/moderns inspired by Imre Reiner’s Corvinus Skyline of 1934. Unusually, Cloudbuster has a printed-look softness, courtesy of very slightly rounded corners throughout, so it looks a little less harsh than similar typefaces. The font is an imposing display face with elegant, unfussy letterforms and a generous x-height.

M Young is a humanistic script design characterised by its modern, lively and youngster-like style. Rikna is compact, solid and gently condensed slab serif font family that comes in 14 styles. Imagined as family with ability to be used as main project font, Rikna’s visual flow of characters in composed paragraph reveals its high legibility in all sizes. Incorporating a certain Gallic ‘je ne sais quoi’ Galerie is a chic & stylish sans serif, though you'll notice some short tails with angled terminals acting rather like serifs, lending a sophisticated characteristic to its balanced proportions. Galerie’s large x-height makes it a very legible font family, available in 4 weights: Thin, Light, Medium and Bold. See also the condensed sister family Galerie 2.

A title card with cast credits for the 1935 movie “The Whole Town’s Talking” (starring Edward G. Robinson and Jean Arthur) formed the basis for People Talk JNL. The hand lettered names were done in a slightly condensed slab serif – mostly rectangular in shape with rounded corners. A few characters take on their own unique appearance. People Talk JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.
