Absolutely, I'd love to talk about the Royal Initialen font created by Dieter Steffmann! Picture this: a typeface that feels like a journey back in time, capturing the elaborate and ornate style of historical manuscripts and the regal flair of past centuries. As its name suggests, Royal Initialen is a font that brings a majestic and ceremonial aura to any project it graces. Crafted by Dieter Steffmann, a type designer well-known for his meticulous revival of vintage typefaces, this font stands out as a faithful homage to the grandeur of the past.
Royal Initialen isn't your everyday font. It's primarily designed for use as an initial or drop cap at the beginning of a paragraph, giving that first letter an imposing and decorative appearance. Each character is a work of art, adorned with intricate details, swirls, and flourishes that hark back to the days when such embellishments were painstakingly hand-drawn by scribes. The font taps into the aesthetics of the Gothic and Renaissance periods, making it a perfect choice for projects that aim to evoke an old-world charm or need a touch of elegance and sophistication.
What sets Royal Initialen apart is its ability to transform ordinary text into something enchanting. Using it in a document, invitation, or label instantly elevates the material, making the viewer feel as though they've received a royal decree or found an ancient manuscript. Despite its historical roots, the font is surprisingly versatile, fitting seamlessly into modern designs that aim to blend the traditional with the contemporary. Whether it's for a book title, wedding invitation, or brand identity that aspires to a classic elegance, Royal Initialen lends a sense of prestige and time-honored beauty that's hard to come by.

Hey guys, do you think that the black spot on the 'A' is meant to be there? Looks like the bevel-white should have gone on top it... See what i mean?

(Thanks to Darren G. for bringing this to my attention)

I think you're exactly right. the underside of the "A"s crossbar appears to have a little vector connection error that at som e point filled with black and blotted out some cool artwork in there. The hard part is figuring out what was supposed to be under there!

Good luck!

haven't used the font editing software in a while so i am not sure what the standards are.

however, if as you are saying this a rasterization error then the data is still under that overlap, it could be possible to open the font in font editing software and move the problematic curve around to fix the problem and expose the underlying data. No?

[DEL]

I have had next to no experience in font editing software as well, ... but that sounds just crazy enough to work! (sorry, not terribly helpful)
