ITC Bailey Sans is the first typeface family created by Kevin Bailey, a graphic designer in Dallas, Texas. He was once looking for an understated block serif for a design project and could find nothing suitable. Bailey began working on his own serif face but then found that the basics of his new design worked well as a sans serif and continued on that track. ITC Bailey Sans font is available in four weights: book, book italic, bold and bold italic and even has a companion serif display font, ITC Baily Quad Bold.

Sébastien Truchet designed a modular typographic system during his last year in the School of Fine Arts of Besançon. The system is made of a unique grid and 6 modules which are the components to build several typefaces. The most radical is the "2-2". The last one is the "10-12". This is the 4-4. It is built into a square grid. Four modules in width and in height. This font proposes to you two appearances : the caps are blackest and the small letters are more open.

The title on the cover of Street & Smith’s “Wild West Weekly” for Jan. 27, 1934 made for an interesting contrast in terms. Here was a pulp magazine dedicated to stories of the Old West, but its title was hand lettered in an extra bold, squared shape style using a round pen nib – not exactly an alphabet that represented cowboys and desperados… This aside, this type style made for a good digital font revival, and it is now available as Bold Pen Lettering JNL in both regular and oblique versions.

Linotype Fresh Ewka is part of the Take Type Library, chosen from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. This fun font was designed by Polish artist Dariusz Nowak-Nova and each letter seems to be a work in itself. The fine hair lines are decorated with tiny squares and look like wires with nodes while the thicker strokes have indefinite contours and seem to have been made with a thick brush. Linotype Fresh Ewka is suitable for headlines in large point sizes.

Spekulatus is a made up name, and that was what I needed for a font like this. I am not sure which category it fits in: grunge, square, handmade, rough or maybe even graffiti? Well, let's just say that it fits in all 5 - or perhaps even more? All letters are handdrawn, and messed up a bit with a thin fine white liner, leaving a gentle grungy and worn effect. I've added 5 different versions of each letter, which is quite nice - not having the same letters repeating all the time!

Fugues is a modern monospace display font. The typeface is made from a basic line, circle and square geometry. Fugues Regular and Italic are inspired by straight geometric shapes and Fugues Rounded and Rounded Italic are inspired by organic geometry similar to works by Antoni Gaudí and Alphonse Mucha. The name is derived from the Latin “Fuga” meaning flight and its current meaning “compositions of many parts on a short theme and using counterpoint.” Fugues is great for display work, logos, film titles, sports, monograms, headings and posters.

The Quandary Font is created for a horror theme in use with an illustrated book ‘The Predicament’ by Edgar Allan Poe. It is designed as a highly expressive face to accentuate a sense of mystery and the macabre. 1920s-era sheet music for "Tangos Pour Manon" from Brussels, Belgium had the title hand lettered in an unusual style. The alphabet was square, had serifs and the thick-and-thin stroke weights that were more popular in the upcoming Art Deco years of the 1930s and 1940s. This became the working model for Torrid Tango JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The cover of the 1904 sheet music from the Tibetan comic opera “The Forbidden Land” had the title hand lettered in an unusual Art Nouveau style. Mostly squared with rounded corners, many of the characters twisted, turned and extended in ways that took on the look of the Far East. This became the design model for Nouveau Moderne JNL, which is available in regular and oblique versions.

Due to its open letterforms and big number of styles the face is a good companion to open humanist Sans. Hybrid design was awarded special prize at Kyrillitsa'99 international type design competition.

Ubiquity: the possibility to be in several places at the same time; this could be the definition of a typeface like Ubik. Its applications are numerous and various: books, magazines, posters but also architecture and signs. Ubik is a grotesk sans serif with a “nordic taste”: shapes pure and somewhat square. The nonexistent contrast between thin and thick strokes gives it a discreet rustic look.

Punch Tape JNL emulates the old-style pin-punched paper tapes that were used in everything from ticker tapes to moving electronic signage to early digital typesetting equipment. Pin punch characters were also used in the early days of banking as a secure way of canceling a check so that it was rendered useless if re-submitted. Inspired by the elegance of Herman Zapf’s designs crossed with the readability of early 20th century Gothic fonts by Morris Fuller Benton, 19-PRA is a sans-serif with a visible stroke contrast and a humanist tone of voice. Diverda Sans is a geometric family of typefaces that are all free from ornament. Swiss designer Daniel Lanz optimized Diverda Sans for maximum legibility. In contrast to many other modern typefaces, which try to squeeze the traditional rounder forms of the alphabet into square designs, and which often attempt to equalize the widths of the capital letters, Diverda Sans remains true to the proper proportions of the Roman alphabet. The x-heights of Diverda's characters are low, and the differences between curved, square, and triangular elements are very clear. Like the more calligraphic typefaces of the past, Diverda's strokes exhibit contrast that is inspired by movements of the pen on paper; down strokes are heavier than up strokes. Typeface Laborat™, designed by Kristína Jandová, is a Grotesk typeface that combines the geometry of a circle and a square. All 6 fonts use the characters A - K and a - k to show two planets/stars/moons moving across each other. Nice and simple. There's a different number of points on the stars, or they're different sizes, and some appear to pass left-to-right, and some appear to pass the other way. Just type in ABCDEFGHIJK or abcdefghijk and you'll see. Two fonts have all the characters on the same level, (All-Black and Black+White). The Offset font has the 'sun/moon' with one slightly above the other and in black and white, and Half has them all-black. Partial has them even further separated in 2-tone. NearMiss is a very close shave. Comma, hyphen, and full stop/period give just a single symbol; there's a Space, and that's it.
