A display fontface for titles inspired on Latin America, Ethnic, Native, Tribal, Mysthical, Handmade, Aboriginal, Pre-Hispanic, Pre-Columbian, Textured. By mid-1997 I was developed the early type edition was called «Muisca Sans» as my work for the degree in Graphic Design (Universidad Nacional de Colombia), based on the concept of pre-Columbian figures characteristics within some of the very few visual elements recovered from the Muisca culture, ancient pre-Columbian tribe disappeared before the arrival of the Spaniards in what is now central Colombia. In fact, the name of the capital Bogotá (the capital of Colombia) goes back to Bacatá as primary or village downtown of what was once the imperial capital of tribe Muisca. Although this unfinished early typographic project has not yet been published, Tequendama is the evolution of the first one. Tequendama reminds the myth of Muisca culture and religion of this tribe. The god Bochica, a wise old man with a white beard heard the cries of his tribe suffered against flooding of their land losing harvests before the divine punishment resulted by the offended god Chibchacun. However Bochica appeared wearing a white robe sitting on a huge rainbow and he broken the mountain towards the southwest wise old man with a golden staff broke the mountain to drain the flooded savanna. This emblematic and iconic place would later be called as «Salto de Tequendama». Tequendama name also been adopted to a nearby province to Bogotá.

Tatline was intended to be a fun side project that developed into something cool and rather unprecedented. It's bold, it's chunky —and it just looks good whether it's a mock movie poster or a key element in a brand identity for a business. With serifs thicker than stems, it looks more down to earth, solid, reliable and firm. And yet there's an almost imperceptible playfulness in the way it looks and behaved on the screen and paper. Tatline would look great on posters and flyers. We've tried creating a coffee brand identity with it —and surprise, looks great again. Maybe it's magic, but we like to think it's just a result of tough work put into creation of Tatline. Try it yourself and let us know what you think!

This typeface is an attempt to offer as a font the well known marvelous Hans Holbein “Death Alphabet”, first published in 1523. We have tried to preserve as much as possible the spirit and appearance of the original Initials set — incredibly fine and enriched with detailed figures — trying at the same time to create a font not too complex to be usable. Neverteless, the font files are large, and when used, the decorated initials may appear on screen more slowly than ordinary characters. Ornata D is the fourth of a series of old ornaments that I am trying to save from oblivion. I am completely redesigning the ornaments from scratch, trying in this one to keep the rough "letterpress" character. These ornaments have been first designed by Auriol around 1910. Hipster Script is another of my habitual attempts at trying to reduce the divide between manual and digital. In this case, I try to articulate brush lettering, try to get the computer to emulate continuous painting. The process wasn't that different from my work with Feel Script's shot at computerized commercial lettering, though here we have a more casual contrast, rather than the high seriousness of the Copperplate script. Swashes, alternates, ligatures — too many of them, all trying to make the interplay between the tool’s two extreme widths remain faithful to hand movement subtleties. I also toyed with ligatures containing apostrophes, something I've never seen before. With this typeface I think I've become more balanced in uniting the spontaneity of post-war ad lettering with the current trends in illustration and design. Hipster Script received a Judge’s choice Certificate of Excellence at the Type Directors of New York and was selected to be part of the Bienal Tipos Latinos 2012.

“Loyolliams” is my first designed Latin typeface which has special meanings and unforgettable memories for me. The font's name, Loyolliams, consists of two mixed syllables stand for two different names. The first syllable is derived from the name “Loyola” and the second syllable is derived from the last five letters of the name “Williams.” These two names are related to “Concordia University”—located in Montreal in Canada—where I studied at a short academic term and spent in a very special period of my life in the late 2005. This renowned Canadian academic institution was created following the 1974 merger of “Loyola College” (1896) and “Sir George Williams University” (1926). This conglomeration formed “Concordia University” and the name Concordia itself was taken from the motto of the city of Montreal, Concordia salus (meaning ‘well-being through harmony’). This font comes in two different weights; light and regular. “Loyolliams” is a square, geometric, techno, and modern font. It is suitable for T-shirts, books' covers, websites’ addresses, advertisement light boards, and titles in technical, artistic, and other types of magazines and signboards. “Loyolliams” can be used also in posters, surfaces of electrical and electronic tools, digital devices and chips, geometrical machines, trucks, tractors, calculators, mobile phones, watches, laptops, personal computers, power equipments, digital cameras, technical magazines, and other digital and electronic tools. This fonts can be effectively used in titles especially when its uppercase and lowercase letters are mixed together and when it is used in its italic mode. "Loyolliams" is suitable for writing and printing small textual paragraphs in cards, magazines advertisements, and also posters. The main characteristic of "Loyolliams" Typeface is its non-curve style in most of its alphanumeric letters. The characters are deliberately designed to have only angular and square shapes.

This font looks like the best effort of small children (when they are trying to be very neat). It is cute.
