In 1894, Linn Boyd Benton finished a commission for a new text typeface with the American periodical, Century magazine. Century is typical of the neorenaissance movement in typography at the end of the 19th century. Morris Fuller Benton drew a number of versions of the font for the font foundry, American Typefounders, and Century was later taken up by the firms Linotype, Intertype and Monotype.

The American nineteenth century display form as handed down through ATF and the composing machine companies, largely for use in newspaper headlines.

Meso America is a native dingbat face inspired in meso-american culture containing funny characters and flowers created starting a geometric forms.

Harajuku Script is an ‘easy-on-the-eye’ script font. I made it with a Japanese brush pen. The font is quite stylish, so I named it after Tokyo’s Harajuku area, which is known internationally as a center of Japanese youth culture and fashion. Harajuku Script would look good anywhere, but product packaging, websites and magazines could profit from this handwritten gem.

Inspired by the logo from “Lollapalooza”. The intention was to design a cheerful, entertaining typeface. Lolapeluza works perfectly for designs for children and youth. 4 variants are also included: -Regular: Basic set -Black: Heavy -line. Lolapeluza can run over or behind a text -Shadow. A Cyrillic alphabet is also included to enhance but the typography is more a set of alternatives.

Komsomol (short for Kommunisticheskii Soyuz Molodyozhi) was the youth division of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Komsomol font was modeled on several Soviet propaganda posters which all had one thing in common: a very loud message in a very clear typeface. Komsomol is an all caps typeface which comes with extensive language support in order to educate the masses.

Centric is a rounded and happy font. The circular design that covers the face of this font was inspired by the ripples made when a pebble is thrown into a pond. Tuscaloosa is a classic American 'Wild West' Tuscan typeface-we thought it would make a suitable Independence Day tribute to our many American clients. Albion's Americana is a fun display family and a tribute to our transatlantic friends. The stars and stripes motif is applied to an American inspired all capitals Roman display face, producing something that is bold and boisterous and well...American. The regular face is intended for conventional use, while the 'Black', 'Red', 'White' and 'Blue' faces are designed to facilitate patriotic multi-coloured lettering (of course, you can use other colours as well). It's worth trying out different combinations here- Black and White alone work well, as does read, white and blue minus black. Albion's Americana Companion is also offered, intended as a small or all capitals face for subsidiary lettering. Railroad Gothic was originally designed in 1906 for ATF (American Type Founders). This uppercase-only typeface is very condensed and also heavy, giving it a distinct 19th American wood type feeling. Like those 19th Century classics, Railroad Gothic is best used when set really big. Originally designed for use in railroad signage, Railroad Gothic has since been adapted for use in many American tabloid journals, which employ it in screaming headlines. When you need to set something large and loud for the whole world to see, this old ATF classic may be right for you. Polynesiac was discovered deep in the jungle on a cave wall on Gilligan's Island. "I was looking for ancient pictographs, and I find this crap instead!" says designer Wesley Poole. "But, the more I looked at it, the more I appreciated its charms." Sort of tropical, but not strictly Polynesian, this sans serif face never stoops to caricature, and achieves instead, a mysterious new flavor of the South Pacific Islands. Büro Destruct’s «BDR mono» typeface has a long tradition in the font library of typedifferent. Initially designed by Lopetz as a single weight, monospaced Mac PostScript Type 1 font way back in 1999, it got a first update as a little family with light, regular and bold weights, plus an extended glyphs set in Opentype format during 2006. With this 2021 update the typeface received a second rounded family and a complete glyphs set with all needed characters used in the north, east, south and west of Europe. The «BDR mono 2021» serves great in signage, routing people, architecture, technical plans, manuals, or even science and fiction related communications.

MetroBots is a fun loving, non-traditional but very functional family of 6 fonts made of big city skies, the long tropical morning shadows of ancient ziggurats and entire pueblo villages, nestled into the steep cliff-sides of sage-topped mesas in south western deserts. This is a good solid, but kind of whacky looking display type family borrowing from the heft of good old-fashioned children�s wooden building blocks and the look and feel of both modern and ancient pueblo architecture. With a bit of the not-so-subtle expressiveness of a comical robot on a WD-40 high on the side.

Project D is the fourth typeface released by DM Founts. It was inspired by the infamous graffiti atop the former Heygate Estate in South London, which I had passed by numerous times on the overground train years ago. Heygate Estate has since been replaced by soulless luxury flats, as per the gentrification agenda. The letters don't entirely match the graffiti as they were created from memory, but I thought such a profound statement should be honoured. Project D is best used for impact at large sizes, although it should scale well. Use it for computer interfaces, retro headings and anything involving defiance, espionage, infiltration and spy games.

Koya Sans is a contemporary, humanist sans with a friendly yet clear and distinct personality. It is designed for excellent legibility, particularly for long continuous reading. The sharp terminals add liveliness and variety to the carefully crafted letterforms. Cord (Zsinór in Hungarian) was originally a commissioned work for a tablecloth pattern with a thread like frame decoration that is actually consist of letters. The lettershapes were being created based on Rovas characters, which were reinterpreted without decreasing legibility. Therefore, the Rovas alphabet was designed in the first place followed by its matching Latin company. The full character set contains: Western, Central and South Eastern European Latin characters basic symbols and punctuation Rovas alphabet Rovas number symbols and punctuation Display font, best fit in larger sizes for souvenirs, folk art theme, embroidery, ribbon like decorative texts and signages. Pyke is a versatile serif typeface inspired by the Didone style of Giambattista Bodoni. After a detailed legibility study, Sofie Beier produced the typeface in three optical sizes; Micro, Text, and Display. The work goes beyond historic revival creating the complexities and subtleties of this classic style fit for users in the modern era. Details include six weights with true italics, specific sizes; Micro for small point sizes of 8 or less, Text for 9–14 points, and Display for larger print sizes, over 530 characters per style with 14 opentype features, and language support for Western, South, and Central Europe. Mapuche means ‘man of the land’ and it is also the name of a group of indigenous inhabitants in South America. During the southern Winter solstice, between June 21 and June 24, the We Tripantu, the Mapuche New Year fest, takes place with a magical rite in the middle of the nature. Indigena is a dingbat font that remakes the artistic expression of the Mapuche people in Chile, recovering the handmade stroke they used in textiles and ceramics, but with a fresh look. This dingbat is based on pre-Columbian iconographic drawings shown in the book Dibujos Indígenas de Chile (1929) by chilean art teacher Abel Gutiérrez.

In the city of Millbrae (just South of San Francisco in San Mateo County, California) stands an office building which formerly housed the Millbrae Theater. California has the distinction of preserving artifacts of its past, unlike many other portions of the US, and the perpendicular "Millbrae" sign with its neon tubes and Art Deco lettering is still attached to the renovated structure. Gene Gable (a friend of type designer Jeff Levine) took a photo of the sign and sent it along as simply an image of great lettering of the past to enjoy, but it triggered the inspiration to create the namesake font Millbrae JNL.
