I’m not particularly fond of beans. I do eat them, but they’re not my idea of a delicacy… But this font has ‘fairy tale’ feeling to it, and I liked the name Beanstalker. Beanstalker is a hand made font (I used a fineliner to draw the glyphs). It is quite neat and organized, but does come with some rough edges and a bit of texture.

With Quote Note I did my best to make a simple and unsophisticated font. I wanted the letters to come out as if they were made with a fat marker on a note. Well, I'll let you be the judge on how I succeeded. I've added 4 different versions of each lowercase letter and even did a simple complimentary dingbat. And of course there is multilingual support!

This font is the byproduct of a T-shirt line for a punk/hardcore band I did a while ago. The guys like it skatestyle, so I scribbled their bandname and tagline with fat edding markers, which was so much fun that I decided to make it into a whole font. PiS Wallride features ligatures and OpenType alternates for an even grittier and more authentic feel.

This font family is inspired by printed work made by the Elzevir family back in the XVIIth century at Leiden (NL). They worked with material from several type designers, but further investigations sends us to the tracks of one in particular: Robert Granjon. Granjon italics were way ahead of his time, making some really beautiful signs like swashy ampersands and minuscule v letters. This font also contains old style figures in the same fashion as they were printed, like the flipped number 8 and open forms in 6 and 9. This is as much a revival as an original design, because of their weights bold and heavy (both with italics) that were inspired on some titles. In this font you can also find a lot of ligatures, small caps, diacritics and even a fleuron for each weight and variation. Leidener came up from two books: Constantini Imperiatoris (1611) and Exercitationum Mathematicarum (1657), printed by Louis and John Elzevir on their Leiden Workshop, back in the day.

Destra is a contemporary, narrow serif family, suitable to save space and legible at small sizes. Its shapes are the result of a mix of styles. "Destra" is the Portuguese word for "right hand". The font has several OT features - fractions, old style-, lining-, tabular numbers, superiors/inferiors, alternative glyphs, dozens of ligatures (standard + discretionary) and an exclusive feature to convert Arabic to Roman numerals up to 1000 (download the “OT Features Guide” pdf). One day shortly after Christmas 2004, the art-director of Vogue Moscow called me. Would I maybe make a Cyrillic version of my Bodoni Classic Text typeface? Well, since I had been thinking about doing it since a long time, this was the perfect reason to finally do it. It was not an easy venture, since I do not have the faintest idea of Russian but, together with those nice people in Russia and a fellow helpful type designer in Kiev, I managed. I did an enormous amount of kerning, thanks to the help of the Moscow Vogue office. Here the fonts are now for all of you: five text cuts, plus one standard roman cut that has no Cyrillic letters but an extra set of medieval numbers. At Vogue they are happy with the fonts, even though I did not quite adhere to Bodoni's originals in this case. Nastarowje (or whatever you say in Russia), Gert Wiescher

MB NOIR is a 4 weight with italics font family that visually has different layers of style, at first glance its a modern clean geometry based face with some nice retro touches, it also has hints of the vintage about it, with a nod to the art deco style, with alternates and ligatures it gives a lot of scope for its uses and works very well at large and small sizes.

School Hand is a font designed for use with young children. There is the Dotted version, which is designed to be traced over with a larger dot to show where to start and automatic lines. Then there is the Regular version which can be used for reading or can be printed light grey for tracing. School Hand Cursive is a cursive font which is designed using contextual alternates. Contextual alternates cannot be activated in the Myfonts preview window so please see the gallery images which show how the smooth flow of letters is achieved. In this way it generates a very joyful serif font, or even friendly font, with some conservative aspects. In other words, Isabel is a font that, despite of being a “classic features” typography, is proud to show its innocent and ingenuous elements, this gives to the font a new point of view. The family is composed of 3 parts: the regular version, the italic version and the unicase version. Each one of them has 5 weights. The italic version has 825 characters; the regular and unicase have 739 and are composed for 220 latin languages, plus cyrilic.

Lotter blackletter with Drop caps One fine day I found a vintage book, it called “A treatise by the Dominican friar-writer Marcus von Weida on the Brotherhood of the Holy Rosary”. It was printed in 1515 by Melchior Lotter in Leipzig. The text was illustrated by hand-colored engravings on religious and liturgical themes and beautiful initials I like. Lotter was the last name of a family of German printers, intimately connected with the Reformation. An innovation by the elder Lotter was his use of Roman types for Latin, reserving the Gothic types for German. I'm happy to present to you my new font family. Lotter font family has Drop cap and Regular styles. It's all you need to precisely imitate medieval style text. Use Drop cap style as a decorative element at the beginning of a paragraph or section, other part of the paragraph should be in Regular style. Font breeding is much like animal breeding, where stallion and mare, or bull and cow, or boar and sow are carefully matched in hopes of yielding a robust and useful offspring. When typefaces RoundUp with fat, rounded serifs and WyomingSpaghetti with fat, squarish serifs were chosen to be parents, it was clear that their offspring would inherit large serifs. But to discover exactly what the offspring would look like, the pairing needed to be consummated, which was done with the “Blend Fonts” commend in Fontographer. The two styles of RoundWhy are the result.

Schreibweise is a pirate-flavored font inspired by a hand-lettered manuscript dating from 1492. The digital font features numerous traditional blackletter and discretionary ligatures and contextual alternates to help create the feel of genuine hand lettering, and features archaic glyphs including the long s and rotunda r for vintage typography. The font also includes a complete set of small caps.

Cuckoo Fast was first seen in 1988 (with Cuckoo and Cuckoo Fat) when I painted on a record shop's window. Since then this hand lettered font has been there and done that. Cuckoo Fast was hand drawn on an angle, not software slanted. It has a character all its own, giving a sense of speed, urgency, or bargains whenever it is applied.

The Griffith Initials font was inspired by a set of highly stylized capital letters from the remarkable hand of one of Americas foremost penmen, dating back to 1927. Kaldi is a tall condensed typeface that has gone through a natural process of handcraft and refinement to produce a speciality blend.
