Vintage Fonts Collection is a set of 18 hand-drawn fonts inspired by vintage ads, old newspapers and retro sign painting. Every lowercase letter has three variations. This font was inspired by the hand-written 1648 Munster peace treatise signed by French King Louis XIV and German emperor Ferdinand II. It is a Cancellaresca font style, meticulously written and almost legible. It contains Western (including Celtic) and Northern European, Icelandic, Baltic, Eastern, Central European and Turkish diacritics. The numerous alternates and ligatures made the font looking like a real various hand.

This type crept up the sense that it was made in Eastern Europe by poorly trained urbanites from a crippled nation, or that it is the remains of a contemporary gothic (like Eckmann) stencil. The choice of what this type signifies is up to the public. Lately I like the idea of 'putting on' (in McLuhan's sense) a genre of idea that is somewhat different from my tradition's beliefs, and fitting a core category of that toward a teleological/eschatological advantage. Therefore postmodernist/apocalyptic carelessness (which I may 'put on' by using this type) is how I abstain from the cravings of immortality, or more so that wanting it is pointless. It’s stands as memento morí; that I will have to die someday. I have to become less, He must become more. Of course, Interzone may signify a classic Joy Division track from Unknown Pleasures as well as the Cold Warish ongoings of conflicted eastern European life. I considered naming this Lunik 9.

Xavier Dupre’s Molto font family is a tonal master, creating tenderness in a slab serif and tempering toughness with flourishes. Slab serifs created their original niche by their ability to grab attention and overwhelm, which caused them to be seen as strong, dominant, and desired fonts, especially in advertising. Geza Script is a wild, calligraphic typeface. It has a foreign look that is hard to put a name on, it could be seen as Eastern inspired or as a forgotten script from the European 1500's. Use Geza Script in a urbane logo or graphic project you want to emit confidence. The font is created by Måns Grebäck and contains an alternate alphabet, ligatures and support for hundreds of languages.

Suburban Collier is a dreamy, humanist demi-serif sister of Romford Stencil typeface. It was created during the COVID-19 pandemic and its name is inspired by Collier Row, a suburban area of Romford, East London (UK). Hancock Bold Condensed is slab serif typeface. The original Hancock design was produced by the Keystone Type Foundry, circa 1903; a condensed version was added circa 1917 by Lanston Monotype. Steve Jackaman (ITF) designed and produced a digital version of Hancock in 1994, and completely redrew the typeface for its 2017 release. This font was inspired by a French solicitor's document dated 1638, written in the special style so named "Civilité". We have worked to transform the almost illegible original form into a contemporary usable typeface, but keeping the time appearance. It contains Western (including Celtic) and Northern European, Icelandic, Baltic, Eastern, Central European and Turkish diacritics. The numerous alternates and ligatures made the font looking like a real various hand.

This is the first of several Eastern fonts I have created and is the prize of the collection. The Pravoslavnie font is highly decorative, with a more complicated letter ‘a’ and a series of flourishes substituting for punctuation. Like its sister font, Pravoslavnie 3 is highly decorative. It differs from the first version of this font, as it has a less decorative ‘a,’ full punctuation marks, and less ornate number forms.

Like our first "1871 Dreamer Script" this script font was inspired from a lot of manuscripts, notes and drafts, written by the famous american poet Walt Whitman. Based on a fifteenth century Textura Blackletter typeface, Octoberfest has a companion with Lombardic style capitals, Octoberfest Alternate. Both Octoberfest and Octoberfest Alternate use the OpenType ligature feature to automatically substitute a subtly unique pair of distressed characters when any lower case character is keyed twice in a row. “More is better” may have been the motto of Richard Austin of Austin and Son’s Imperial Letter-Foundry on Worship Street at Finsbury Square in London when he designed and cut his Antique typeface. The year it was created is uncertain, but it is known to have appeared in a specimen book produced in 1827. At first glance, the upper case letters of Austin Antique look very much like Figgins Antique. But, upon examination, one will note that the Austin face is much darker. In general, the letters designed and cut by Richard Austin have fatter strokes, larger serifs and smaller counters -- more metal and less daylight. The premise was that the darker the letter, the more attention an ad using the typeface would receive. In old pictures of London and Paris one may see walls crowded with posters and “bills” -- competing for the attention of the passerby. Morris and Updike aside, the early nineteenth century marked the beginning of a commercial as well as industrial revolution. Patterns of commerce were changing. With new methods of marketing came the need for new typefaces to support the new methods. Foundries found the display types were very profitable and competed most energetically and creatively for the trade. There was a lot of trial-and-error. Some ideas faded away. Others, like the Antiques or Egyptians, were refined and developed. From them came the Clarendons that were to prove both popular and long lasting -- because they worked. Their job was to sell goods, not please the aesthetic sensibilities of the critics. They did their job well. Austin Antique has a full Western European character set, plus the following ligatures: ct, st, fi, fl, ff, ffi and ffl. Tabular numbers. Surprisingly readable.

MAS AMOR POR FAVOR (1) (more love, please) Fluire means -to flow- in Italian and that’s what this font is all about. The story began when a friend of mine asked for a tattoo with the word -Fluir- (to flow in Spanish). She didn't want a tattoo full of swashes and swirls, like I'm used to doing, but something more fluent, soft and minimal. My very first attempts were more related to copperplate calligraphy but I wasn't even close: I discovered that I needed to forget a little bit about the classic contrast and speed of the engrosser's nib and started playing with a tiny flat metal nib. Letters started to flow, and I immediately thought of turning them into a font. Inspired by the tattoo I created and by other tattoos I saw, I started the journey of what would be a very fun process. The result is a very cute, almost monoline font with a wide range of uses. USES If not used for a tattoo (my first ‘target’), the font delivers amazing results in combination with Fluire Caps: These two need each other, they go together, they talk. I designed Fluire Caps Down and Fluire Caps Up so it’s easier to manage their colors. Also there’s Fluire Caps Down Lines, which has a decorative thin line to add yet another dimension. Use the fonts in magazines, book covers, posters, greeting cards, weddings, lettered walls, storefronts! TIPS Since the font is Open-Type programmed, I strongly recommend using it in applications that support that feature. Hardbop is a typographic system inspired by jazz, especially the style it's named after "Hardbop". It's also inspired by the prolific graphic work of Reid Miles for the covers of Blue Notes Records in the '50s, Japanese jazz album covers of the '70s and condensed and grotesque hand painted signs. Hardbop also references classic fonts such as Impact, Bebas, Din, Frontage and TT Trailers, the latter in the exaggeration of certain characteristics such as counterforms and endings. Hardbop design works for titles and wide spaces and was specially designed for covers and posters, where its intention is not to go unnoticed.
