Adverb Mono is an atypical monospaced, squared proportional, slab-serif and low contrast typeface inspired by the American Type Founders' "OCR-A" and the latest work of Adrian Frutiger "OCR-B" designed during the second half of the 20th century. Kryptic is based on a design for computer optical character recognition (OCR) from the 1960s developed by Epps & Evans at the National Physical Laboratory. Its pure geometric and elemental shapes create graphic patterns and visual puzzles that only secondarily communicate meaning. Not recommended for extended text, unless intentionally encrypting!

An Oct. 7, 1931 advertisement in a British trade paper for the film industry carried the unusual title “The Bioscope Peaks of National Approval”. Just as unusual was the hand lettering for this ad – a quirky, casual bit of novelty typography that inspired Film Preview JNL; available in both regular and oblique versions.

The boss of extended typefaces, Brian Bonislawsky, has belted out this ultra wide design, EuroMachina, that looks like an odd meld of OCR-A, Microgramma and Bank Gothic. Gerusa is a sans-serif technical typeface family by Loligovulgaris.com. In Sidewalker we can see pieces of OCR-A, letters and of other fonts; letters pressed over metallic supports with too much ink and then redesigned on a computer. Reminiscent of how different materials in Burri or Rauchenberg's paintings are used. Some numbers have the same shape of some letters (J=2, 6=G=9, I=1=l ...) and many pieces of letters are copied into others. Very experimental...

The original Carbon is a popular face at T26. It was released in 2003 under influence of modern typewriter and OCR typeface. Carbon Plus, a re-work version, was commissioned by local communication technology firm and is now available for commercial release. This revised version was designed with more sensible letter forms in order to add some human touch to the face. The initial release of this font also known as Carbon C6.
