Hofstad is a font which was modeled on a poster designed by Dutch graphic artist Jan Lavies (1902 - 2005). Lavies became famous for the posters he designed for the Holland America Line of cruise ships. Hofstad font was named after the theatre group "Vereenigd Rotterdamsch - Hofstad Tooneel" for which Jan Lavies designed a poster. Hofstad comes with all diacritics.

Before 1959, in pre-Castro Havana, Cuba, the preeminent nightclub was the Tropicana. During the regime of Fulgencio Batista, Cuba was resplendent with nightclubs and gambling casinos catering to [mostly] the North American tourists; which brought it the title of the Monte Carlo of the Americas. Although Cuba (and the world as a whole) has changed vastly over the decades, the hand-lettered logo of the Tropicana Night Club has survived, and has been reproduced as a complete digital font called Tropicano JNL (a slight twist to the club's name). At first the font seems to be awkward, crude and amateurish, but in taking a second look, there's a playful charm to it. Additionally, this font can double as a "spooky" font for the Halloween season, monster parties and in other similar themes.

This font is a latin based version of the ogham alphabet used in the writing of the old irish language. It can be used on Latin keyboards. Pontifica is based on ‘protogothic’ calligraphy, a style developed at the monastery of St. Gall in the 12th century to replace Carolingian minuscule with a more efficient and compact system of lettering. Ultimately it became the progenitor of the gothic lettering styles of the late Medieval period. These characters were trying to do something for minimela kitchen which it named.After that, they looked that they was wanting to be that font beautiful writings written with it, belonging to it, special to it and reminding it to everybody. These cute monsters that have shaped themselves were a piece of a whole, of a little whole. They were totally believing to beautiful and long ways that have being waited them. They have given a sincere promise they will continue with little steps on that ways. As part of the day job I had to trace an old hand drawn logo of a Masonic Lodge from a very poor scan. When I finally got to the end of it I had almost a whole alphabet and I really liked the hand drawn uneven quality, so I made up the rest of the letters and set about making it into a font. I roughened up all the edges for an even older look, added a host of OpenType features and hey presto, Masonic Lodge was born. There are two versions of each letter and number which automatically alternate when contextual alternates are set, more alternates for O and o characters, a good amount of interlock style L and T ligatures (uppercase) and a square & compass ornament. Use it for pub signs, secret society meetings, monster movie titles and pub menus.
