A modern sanserif typeface

Twentieth Century was designed for the cover of 20th Century French Poetry and was drawn with pure geometric shapes. It is the distillation of a broad variety of styles loosely known as Art Deco but, also categorized under such terms as Moderne, Streamline, Machine Age, Futurist, 70s Art Deco, Memphis among others. If there were a source in particular that I would cite as my inspiration, however, it would definitely be the work of Frank Lloyd Wright. I mean, look at the "W" for cryin' out loud!

Baro is a powerful, fun and expressive font, great for loud, cheerful and super-fat headlines and packaging for odd novelty toys. With its bold and distinctive stylized geometric forms, it is ideal for logos, heavy machinery and wacky party invites. Baro had its beginning in a handful of rigidly geometric uppercase letters from an unidentified 1960�s or 70�s era press-down lettering font, which in turn was possibly a revival of a 20�s era Art Deco font. The exercise quickly expanded into a complete typeface with 300+ characters, including several catch words (word glyphs), stylistic alternates, discretionary ligatures, multilingual support and both lining and old style numerals. Baro maintains much of the characteristic geometric rigidity of the original handful of letters, but � With the addition of just a little bit of flare, a bit of cheerfulness breaks through, like a wink and a smile on the face of a fat and otherwise stern policeman.

Boldu is a simple grotesque font. I created it using simple forms. I love geometry and tried use only one size of lines. Boldu was created being impressed by works of beginning of 20th century - period of strict and geometric forms

Brosse is a family of slabserif faces which emphasise clarity and geometric cleanliness of line, in a 'Brave New World' sprit that harks back to the 1930s and possibly also to postwar rebuilding in the 1950s. Its clear legibility makes it ideal for poster work and titles, as well as for signage of any kind. Eight faces are offered, regular and italic, bold and bold italic, as well as a condensed face and a bold weight thereof. There are also two decorative forms- outline and embossed faces. All faces include a large character set and extensive Opentype features. A Demonstrater version of the regular face is also offered free of charge-this is fully licensed but has a signnificantly reduced character set.

Slab serif with a 70’s aesthetic A version of AW Conqueror Sans, AW Conqueror Slab draws inspiration from geometrical slab serifs of the 1930s, of which Rockwell is a perfect example. Lubalin Graph, a reworking of the genre, came out in the wake of the Avant Garde wave of the early 70s. In recent years, ‘slabs’ have made a comeback in the graphic design world. AW Conqueror Slab advances the cause quite happily. AW Conqueror superfamily AW Conqueror Didot is part of a larger family, who include 4 others subfamilies with great potential: They’re but based on same structure, with some connection between them (width for example), to offer a great & easy titling toolbox to any designers, from skillful to beginner. Tanawonda JNL is an Art Deco influenced sanserif face.

Tangy Cream is handmade with a slightly geometric look. And to break the geometry, just a little bit, I have added 3 different versions of each lowercase letters. These automatically cycles as you type, leaving your text even more lively and organic looking!

The powerful Eknaton comes with slanted slabserifs, a new way to add some spring to the old Egyptian slabs. Eknaton echoes the tradition that started with Napoleon's Egyptian campaign 1798, and the simultaneous looting of Egyptian art. The imports led to new ladies fashion in Europe, new architecture and new typefaces like Antique (Figgins, 1815) and Egyptian (Caslon, 1816). The Egyptian faces were also the origin of the famous Clarendon (1845) and Ionic No.5 (1925) as well as the rest of "the legibility types". In the 20th century the slabserifs became popular again with Bauhaus incarnations like Memphis (Wolf, 1929) and Beton (Jost, 1931). The Bauhaus movement, otherwise anti-serif, liked the architectural influence in Egyptian slabserifs. The Bo Berndal design of Eknaton puts some speed into the old Sphinx - the cat is back, in better form than ever! Bo Berndal, born 1924, has been designing typefaces for 56 years, for Monotype, Linotype and other foundries. The font Antique Slabserif JNL was run through a filter to create a design that looks like worn type at smaller settings or jaggedly distressed lettering in larger type heights. The end result is Radio Interference JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The late 70s and early 80s is sometimes considered to be the period when headline typography went off the rails. Growing up in that period, some designers may beg to differ. Many geometric designs were available in dry-transfer and for the typositor, and were used everywhere a youth-culture look was appropriate - annuals, comics, club flyers, high-street boutiques, TV-advertised compila tion albums. Nightclubber is a fond homage to the excesses of the period, and should be used back-lit in pink neon or at a rakish 45 degree slant across a blurred photograph of a glitter ball.
