Saffron Walden is a small market town in Essex, England. When I created my first ever connected script font, I decided that a 'flowery' name would be best (since that seems to be the most popular choice for connected fonts….). Saffron Walden is a fattish, inky brush font, with a slight tilt to the right. It would be perfect for book covers, magazines, headlines and posters, but could also be used for packaging. Comes with a bunch of ligatures and a heap of diacritics.

Baguet Script is a modern brush script family. It has three weights in italic and upright styles. The letters has soft terminals and slight bounce. Baguet Script has two sets of uppercase letters, one is more simple and the other is flashier. It has also three different types of matching initial and end swashes for lower case letters and multiple options for ascenders and descenders. Shaking hands is quite a complicated process: do it too lightly and you appear weak, grab too hard and you’re too eager. There are also those with a ‘Guerrilla Handshake’ - grabbing your hand unexpectedly, shaking it vigorously and yanking it toward them. Guerrilla Handshake font was actually made by hand, using Chinese ink and a brush. I did use the brush vigorously, but I made sure not to shake or yank it too much! Guerrilla Handshake comes in a slightly backslanted ‘regular’ version and an italic version.

Pixeloza 02 is a pixel-style, grid-based, display typeface. This is another version of Pixeloza type. Compared to Pixeloza 01, it is characterized by a more slender form, the letters are taller and narrower, which makes the font lighter. ITC Fontoon was designed by Steve Zafarana of the Galápagos Design Group in 1995. Along with ITC Fontoonies and ITC Gargoonies from the same designers, it is the perfect text font for cartoons and comics. Slight irregularities in stroke contrast and basic forms distinguish ITC Fontoon and make it look like printed handwriting. Stylish, elegant, and alluring, Sekhmet got its name from the lion-headed war goddess of ancient Egypt. And the typeface does possess a kind of feline, forward-directed energy - a result of its calligraphic detailing combined with a very slight slope in the roman. Sekhmet is essentially a display face; still, it's as carefully crafted as any of the designer's text fonts and so also works well in reasonably large text blocks, especially at larger point sizes. Comes with a book-weight roman and calligraphic italic.

Down in his secret underground font laboratory, mild mannered John Roshell was tinkering with his iPad when the Apple Pencil suddenly bit him and he found himself feverishly creating letterforms on the tablet... Before long his hand was burning and glowing with superspeed — his penstrokes were longer than one-eighth of a mile; he was suddenly able to letter a twenty-story omnibus with newfound fontastic strength and could create tremendous weights with more leading than an express train... And thus was born: ORIGIN STORY!

Some years ago we developed a monospaced 12 pitch sans serif for a client. We also created a 10 pitch version that was later discarded. PropTen is the 10 pitch version modified to proportional widths. The name PropTen refers to 'Proportional 10 Pitch'- which is a technical impossibility. It does have a slight 'its time to vote' twist to it. You know, after you pick your candidate you also need to vote yes or no on the following Propositions, don't forget Prop10, the team needs those uniforms.

Claude Garamond (ca. 1480-1561) cut types for the Parisian scholar-printer Robert Estienne in the first part of the sixteenth century, basing his romans on the types cut by Francesco Griffo for Venetian printer Aldus Manutius in 1495. Garamond refined his romans in later versions, adding his own concepts as he developed his skills as a punchcutter. After his death in 1561, the Garamond punches made their way to the printing office of Christoph Plantin in Antwerp, where they were used by Plantin for many decades, and still exist in the Plantin-Moretus museum. Other Garamond punches went to the Frankfurt foundry of Egenolff-Berner, who issued a specimen in 1592 that became an important source of information about the Garamond types for later scholars and designers. In 1621, sixty years after Garamond's death, the French printer Jean Jannon (1580-1635) issued a specimen of typefaces that had some characteristics similar to the Garamond designs, though his letters were more asymmetrical and irregular in slope and axis. Jannon's types disappeared from use for about two hundred years, but were re-discovered in the French national printing office in 1825, when they were wrongly attributed to Claude Garamond. Their true origin was not to be revealed until the 1927 research of Beatrice Warde. In the early 1900s, Jannon's types were used to print a history of printing in France, which brought new attention to French typography and the Garamond" types. This sparked the beginning of modern revivals; some based on the mistaken model from Jannon's types, and others on the original Garamond types. Italics for Garamond fonts have sometimes been based on those cut by Robert Granjon (1513-1589), who worked for Plantin and whose types are also on the Egenolff-Berner specimen. Linotype has several versions of the Garamond typefaces. Though they vary in design and model of origin, they are all considered to be distinctive representations of French Renaissance style; easily recognizable by their elegance and readability. ITC Garamond? was designed in 1977 by Tony Stan. Loosely based on the forms of the original sixteenth-century Garamond, this version has a taller x-height and tighter letterspacing. These modern characteristics make it very suitable for advertising or packaging, and it also works well for manuals and handbooks. Legible and versatile, ITC Garamond? has eight regular weights from light to ultra, plus eight condensed weights. Ed Benguiat designed the four stylish handtooled weights in 1992." In 1993 Ed Benguiat has designed Handtooled versions.

First presented by the Bauer Type Foundry in 1928, Futura is commonly considered the major typeface development to come out of the Constructivist orientation of the Bauhaus movement in Germany. Paul Renner (type designer, painter, author and teacher) sketched the original drawings and based them loosely on the simple forms of circle, triangle and square. We love sports – like billions of fans all over the world – but in Argentina, we really love fútbol (soccer). Fútbol is part of our culture: it makes our hearts’ race and our pulses quicken, it inspires screams of joy and screams of anguish, and it has been the cause of more than a few heated conversations amongst friends. So you can imagine our delight when, in recent years, a local team’s fútbol jersey used a Sudtipos font; it got us thinking about designing a font that explicitly had sports in mind yet still had the versatility to work for other types of projects. Sporty has a geometric and modular structure with many potential applications that far exceed jerseys, score boards and stadium wayfinding. Its flexibility is evident when examining its four style – from a square style to a rounded one – as well as the Shadow and Inline options. Cíclope is a typeface family designed by Carlos Fabián Camargo in 2012 and used to write the headlines. Its idea is based on an army of stone soldiers that with their size and strength cause earthquakes. Under this concept he obtained stencil and sans serif letters with monstrous shapes and torn counterforms. Its usefulness as well as readability consists in imitate rocks with scars and cracks. For that reason, Cíclope family has three sizes, each with their respective italics distributed at different levels of corrosion. The font is actually not a revival of ‘Avant Garde’—by Herb Lubalin—but it takes its spirit. Fibra is a geometric sans serif, yet without the typical structural strictness of these kind of fonts, that represents experimental type design. This can be seen in the contrast between curves and straight lines in some characters such as ’n’ and ‘h’ unlike rounded ones such as ‘a’ and ‘d’; details of some display characters (e.g. three upper terminals in ‘W’ and projection off the stem in ‘A’); and exaggerated terminal in ‘R’. Lunanic is a geometric novelty typeface family with a touch of graffiti. The letters are formed from a circle with a notch or nick taken out, a shape that reminds me of a partial lunar eclipse. Half of the family have the nick on the left and half on the right. The faces are monospaced and so tightly spaced that there is no space between most of the letters so the filled styles cannot be used alone without tweaking. There are several ways to tweak them to make them readable: adjacent letters can be colored differently, the characters spacing can be increased, or an outlined style can be layered on top of the filled letters. The family does not have a true lower case. Most of the characters in the lower-case slots are alternates for those on the upper-case keys and they can be mixed in whatever way the user finds best. The family has twelve members: two orientations with three weights each and each of these six has an outline style to go with it.
