Century Gothic™ is based on Monotype 20th Century, which was drawn by Sol Hess between 1936 and 1947. Century Gothic maintains the basic design of 20th Century but has an enlarged x-height and has been modified to ensure satisfactory output from modern digital systems. The design is influenced by the geometric style sans serif faces which were popular during the 1920s and 30s. The Century Gothic font family is useful for headlines and general display work and for small quantities of text, particularly in advertising. The Century Gothic family has been extended to 14 weights in a Pan-European character set from Thin to Black and their Italics. The already existing 4 weights of Regular and Bold with their Italics are additionally still available in the STD character set. From the designer, Tim Ahrens... I started designing this typeface about half a year after learning that Frutiger was not a new brand of sweets and that Garamond is not the name of a fragrance. In time it became clear that designing a sans serif must always be considered as a transformation of traditional serifed typefaces instead of deriving it from typefaces that have been derived from others which have been derived from others again. I did not want Aroma to be one of those odourless and tasteless typefaces wich sacrifice a natural feeling and the characteristic shapes of the letters to neutrality. I think that beauty often evolves unintentionally. For example, I am fascinated by the beauty of airfoils, which are actually a careful transformation of a bird's wing. I love their anorganic and abstract shape which still bears the essence and all the complexity of what they are modelled on. This is exactly the formal concept behind Aroma. Many of the outlines are actually parabolics. The small r, for example, consists exclusively of straight lines and parabolics. I decided to give Aroma more stroke contrast than it is usual for sans serif designs. Many strokes are slightly convex, which gives the font an anorganic feeling. The font was intended to have a feel similar to the antiqua. More specifically, it is based on Old Style Faces. The character of those fonts, which were cut during the Renaissance, is still inherent to Aroma.

Tourette draws inspiration from 19th century French light slab serifs. This area of typography is relatively unexplored in contemporary design. Tourette includes two versions, Normal and Extreme. Normal is simple, delicate and legible, whereas Extreme is full of little flourishes that grant an exquisite, slightly frivolous, feel to the weight. Tourette is a progression of the Expletive Script family.

IngyArrows is a set of three fonts with three sets of arrows, with one of them a blend of the other two, where normally there are standard numbers, letters, and punctuation marks. The revision of 2011 added many of the arrows that exist in several places in the unicode codings and that cannot be accessed by normal keystrokes.

Back to 1880-1900 when a number of events were coming together, the country was evolving from a local market economy to mass merchandising, rail systems were being built and color lithography was becoming more affordable. The first rail cars full of oranges were being shipped from Southern California to the East - what a treat during a cold winter’s day. Labels were pasted on every fruit crate and these labels had large images of oranges and orange groves. With technological advances in soldered cans, canneries popped up all over the country. In order to market their products many California Canneries pooled their resources to form the California Fruit Canners Assn. in 1899. This font was inspired from that era. Loaded with alternates, swashes, stylistic and multilingual support.

A while back I created a nice font called Harimau. It is a childish font, with a happy feel to it. Harimau had some unusual glyphs, most notably the 'g' and the 'j', which, for some designers, were a little too unusual. Therefore I have created a new font based on the old Harimau: it is similar, but comes with 'normal' glyphs.

Overland Trail JNL is Jeff Levine Fonts’ interpretation of “Italian”, first introduced in 1821 by the Caslon & Catherwood Type Foundry. Unique and somewhat similar to Faux Pas JNL with its eccentric stroke weights (opposite what is considered normal for serif fonts), the typeface features a design most associated with the Old West. Overland Trail JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Alex Kaczun, originally designed BottleKaps for Linotype-Hell, in 1992, as a QuickDraw GX multi-master font series. A few new GX applications, like 'Unicorn', where able to utilize these unique fonts. The GX application allowed the user to adjust weight and proportions, on the fly, including glyph substitution for small capitals, old style figures, swash and alternate endings. The technology was never successfully deployed by Apple, so the individual fonts, 21 styles and variations in all, where sold in the Linotype Font Library as separate Truetype fonts up until 1998. Unfortunately, the fonts collected dust for many years thereafter, but now have been reworked and rejuvenated by Alex in OpenType format for both Mac and PC. 'BottleKaps' is a 'unique', 'playful' and 'decorative' font series. Use it for those bold headlines to stimulate interest and show off your 'unique' individual style.

Buddy is the new companion sans for Contenu, the book font family designed for my book on font design design. Originally, I called it Compagnon, but that seemed to pompous. Then I called it Aide, but that was too formal and dry. It's a loose, free, easy to read sans, so when my wife suggested Buddy, it clicked. This is the 4-font Buddy family of Regular, Italic, Bold, & Bold Italic. I made a new, more limited feature set for these fonts due to their designed usage, but there are still small caps, small cap figures, oldstyle figures, numerators, and denominators. The bold is closer to a black, and the italics are only slightly slanted obliques. If you need a strong black in caps, use the small caps of the bold.

Summerhaven JNL and Summerhaven Italic JNL were partially inspired by sign lettering spotted in an old black and white movie. These fonts are somewhat reminiscent of the Art Deco style, and their casual look can be applied to both formal and informal messages.

16th and 17th century formal handwriting forms the basis for Tinderbox, an antique script. Preserving the rough impression of a quill pen on parchment, Tinderbox evokes old manuscripts, ecclesiastical texts, gothic inscriptions, faded tattoos and horror literature; spooky calligraphy for the digital age.

Atrium, designed by Alex Jacque, is a strong, linear, geometric sans-serif display typeface based off century-old pen art by W.E. Dennis. Atrium's stubbornly geometric letterforms are set off with a few softening flourishes on a few glyphs. It's sharp corners, straight verticals and horizontals make Atrium pack some punch when used in headlines, pull quotes, and logotypes. Atrium was released in 2012 in OpenType format and comes in three different weights: light, regular, and bold, with a regular and oblique version of each for a total of 6 styles in the family.

Glodok is a single-weight display typeface. It is bold, heavy and fun to play around with. It’s eye catching but also blends well when in use. It is retro-inspired and strikes a nice balance between formal and playful. The name itself comes from the oldest Chinatown in Jakarta that is also considered the biggest in Indonesia, the place from where the designer took many inspirations.

Skillet is a bold vintage style serif font full of hedonism and joie de vivre. Skillet has strong character and extremely smooth features and self-confidence that springs from within. This family, in normal and bold weights, is based on Advertisers Gothic, designed by Robert Wiebking for Barnhart Brothers & Spindler in 1917. The original might be considered a transitional design between Art Nouveau and Art Deco; this version accentuates the Deco traits, adding a thick-and-thin treatment not found in the original. The large x-height and short descenders allow for compact, commanding headlines with a carefree charm, a.k.a. bell'agio. Both versions of the font include 1252 Latin, 1250 CE (with localization for Romanian and Moldovan).
