Garlic Salt is a flavorful, hand drawn, serif font family. Drawn with a single marker pen, it has a monoline appearance giving it a distinct mix of whimsical and modern qualities. The semi-condensed propositions are sturdy and space-saving for your layouts. Choose from either the regular weight or a slightly thicker line in the bold weight to suit your needs. This typeface has the most important ingredient of all: love. So it’s not surprising that the font is called El Amor. It is a reversed oblique all-caps headline font that consists of two styles, “Regular” and “Fill”. Feel free to experiment with them, together or alone. Write something with “Regular”, copy paste it to another layer and switch to “Fill”. Give it a little offset if you like or place it straight on top, both works fine. You can also use the “Fill”. style for body text, but do so at your own risk, spacing and kerning is optimized for the use with the “Regular” style, so be generous if the result looks not as even as text-font. As an alternate to thicker casual script styles, this free-flowing thin brush style is evocative of vintage product advertisements and packaging lettering and is highly suitable for a retro flavor. Calligraphica was designed because there are very few inline fonts, and even fewer inline calligraphic fonts. The original forms were written with a split pen in a single stroke. The minuscules have a rougher look and the capitals have a smoother shape to imitate hand written calligraphy with more formal, decorative initial caps. The ascenders on this font are a bit higher than the capital letters--this is standard for most fonts. Exuberantly delicious and lusciously sweet! VLNL Bon Bon embodies the perfect after dinner treat. Chocolate is a known aphrodisiac and bonbons are its most romantic carrier. Bonbon is not for nothing the French word for ‘good’ twice! You could definitely consider VLNL Bonbon the typographic equivalent of these exquisite chocolate sweets. Inspired by lettering on an Amsterdam church facade and a ladies clothing store window, Donald DBXL Beekman started drawing the first incarnation of Bon Bon already in 2004. The original idea was an alphabet design with slanted oval inner shapes and extremely long and striking serifs. This proved to be a quite demanding design job, so It took Bon Bon some time to get finished. But now it’s here in all its extravagant glory. Most recently a number of lowercase characters were added to make Bon Bon more versatile. Totally insane and over-top-the-top it has been called. But hey, we all love Bon Bon. Don't we?

Halloween lends itself to graphic images: witches, ghosts, bats, jack-o'lanterns and haunted houses. When we think of a haunted house, we generally think of a large, abandoned, derelict Victorian wood-frame house. The style is usually Second Empire or Queen Anne. There tends to be a lot of decoration. There is usually a porch or two with decorative spindle work. There is probably a tower, either square with a mansard roof such as one might see in Paris or round with a conical roof borrowed from a Loire Valley chateau. These houses were generally built in the United States between 1860 and 1900, products of the exuberance of a time before income tax. It took at least three servants to maintain such a house and was very expensive. Few can afford them today. That is why so many were converted to professional offices, multi-family dwellings or simply abandoned. HAUNTED HOUSE is our typographical contribution to Halloween. Based on our font PETRARKA ML, it features decorative capitol letters that utilize the silhouette of a Second Empire style house complete with a dead tree and a full moon. The font includes 8 ornaments suitable for flyers and party invitations. Revision 2.000 eliminates dual encoding, harmonizes metrics, adds new glyphs, and adds open type features. The Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum staff is honored to partner with New York-based graphic designer Louise Fili on her first font release project. The new font, “Mardell,” is named for Hamilton retiree and wood type cutter Mardell Doubek. This is the fourth font to be cut for the museum as part of the Wood Type Legacy Project.
