Here is a profoundly delicate and graceful design that has its roots in art deco fashion. This elegant typeface is based on an old 1930s lettering style popularized by Carl Holmes in his wonderful book on the subject. Somewhat condensed with a very tall lowercase, Panorama carries itself beautifully. It is similar to such classics as Stellar and Optima with stems flaring slightly at the ends. Panorama has a great number of alternate capital, small capital, and lowercase characters including two sets of alternate figures. The new Solomon type family includes 12 very unique design styles. These twelve designs are divided into two main style groups—text family and display (or decorative) family. The Solomon text pack is characterized by excellent legibility, well-finished geometric designs, optimized kerning etc. Solomon is most suitable for headlines of all sizes, as well as for text blocks that come in both maximum and minimum variations. The Solomon deco pack is created using ornamental work with organic forms at the heart of the design base. The use and combination of both groups - deco and text family, is highly recommended in order to attain maximum desired effects.

ITC Atelier Sans began as one of Curtis's renovations. His goal was to create a monoline design with Art Deco “sensibilities,” but without the geometric precision and relatively small x-height of faces like Futura or Kabel. Gentle curves and suggestions of serifs create a crisp, clean and open face that is at once sleek, sensuous and still affable. Available as a two-weight family with complementary italics, ITC Atelier Sans is another successful and usable revival from Nick Curtis.

This series of faces was designed initially by Morris Fuller Benton, circa 1900. The design is a refinement of Taylor Gothic from 1897. It features a sans serif thick and thin design with angular stems. Pre-dating art deco, this design feels quaint, yet it still has a touch of modernism. Frederic Goudy designed a bold version of Globe Gothic in 1905 for ATF. The Bold and Bold Italic digital versions have been added to the LTC library in early 2007.

Samuel Welo was a sign painter who had published in the 1920s and again in 1960 editions of his “Studio Handbook – Letter and Design for Artists and Advertisers”. In-between, in 1930 Welo also published “Lettering - Practical and Foreign”. Within the pages is an Art Deco outline slab serif design using multiple thin lines to create an “incised” or “engraved” look within the characters. This intriguing type style is now available as Guest Invitation JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

A friend bought me a Chinese calligraphic brush set in a beautifully decorated box. I started to letter the alphabet on parchment, in my own hand, using quick strokes and found the resulting script had an interesting energy to it. After further refinement in my font application software 'Swordtail' was born. A great free-hand script.

Cord (Zsinór in Hungarian) was originally a commissioned work for a tablecloth pattern with a thread like frame decoration that is actually consist of letters. The lettershapes were being created based on Rovas characters, which were reinterpreted without decreasing legibility. The inspiration for Jeeves came from Leslie Carbarga's wonderful book LETTERHEADS, One Hundred Years of Great Design, 1850-1950. It was based on a secondary type usage for the letterhead for Sutherland in New York. The rest of the letterhead had features that were more typical of the Art Deco period, but this script added a touch of timeless elegance. And since at the time I was reading every scrap of P.G. Wodehouse I could get my hands on, the name Jeeves seemed like a perfect fit. The font is loaded with a plethora of extra glyphs, ligature characters and OpenType features.
