Kandij is a Dutch word and it means ‘Rock Sugar’. We Dutch use it in a lot of products, from ‘ontbijtkoek’ (a rye based spiced cake we sometimes eat for breakfast) to Fryske Sûkerbôle, A Frisian sweet bread. Kandij is a fat and happy font. I’d probably use it for any book or product aimed at children, as it has a certain lumpy cuteness. Comes with diacritics and swashes for the upper case letters.

ALS Rundgang is a decorative font designed specially for advertising purposes that reminds one of electronic display boards and bitmap typefaces. It includes only capital letters. Some of the letterforms are deliberately misshaped to have a teenage angular look‚it’s a bit crazy and out of proportion. Rundgang is well-suited for any youth-aimed design, such as various event and campaign materials, periodicals, flyers, leaflets, posters and other youngish marketing stuff.

Technically a crowbar is a straight metal rod used for digging. The tool I had in mind when I named this font is called a jemmy or pry bar, but I guess I liked the name crowbar better. Crowbar font, like its namesake, is a very useful tool: its brush-like appearance fits any design, especially if you are aiming for the ‘scary’ look. Comes with a toolbox full of diacritics too!

A Bloomer is a crusty loaf of bread with rounded ends. I don’t know why I chose this name, but it may have to do with the fact that my wife signed up for a bread baking course. Bloomer is a rounded, hand made cartoon-ish font. It will look especially good on product packaging, but any design in need of some authenticity could do with a bit of Bloomer! This family was created inspired from the two sets of rough initials fonts used by the famous William Caxton in Westminster (GB) in the late 1400’s. As it was normal for the time, there were not any differences between I and J, U and V. It is not a mistake. We have reconstructed the few other missing characters. This font was conceived as a supplement for our 1479 Caxton but may be used with all our Blackletters fonts.
