Kaytek™ Slab is a fresh take on the correspondence typefaces of the 90s - which were originally designed for the demands of office environments. Just like its predecessors, this text typeface is robust and hard-working - meaning it works well in challenging design or printing environments - but it’s not without personality. Look closer at the lowercase g and a, especially in the italic, and you can see some unexpected elements of subversiveness within the design. This blend of sturdiness and quirkiness means it’s just as relevant for information-heavy projects, such as annual reports, as it is in more expressive environments. Family type designed by Felipe Calderón. This type is a display with a modern style and a different and innovative concept. The development of this type was a challenge because it was set out from the begining as a script font with ornaments and complements, where the round shapes do not have prominence in the result. Remember clear summer days as a kid? Remember open fields that you explored? Sun shining? Simple breezes sweeping past your face as you ran far and free? The feeling was uncomplicated and enjoyable. It was natural. That’s Verao, the simple spirit of summer. Runway is the font that will satisfy the need for speed in your design. Simple lines and curves, a commanding slant, and big sturdy shapes made to cruise at any speed or altitude, through summer breeze or horrible snowstorms. Runway was designed to be tight like an engine chain, powerful like the hum of the engine itself, and simply the best choice when it comes to strength and velocity in design. Initially Runway was meant to be a single font. But during the spacing and kerning stages, Patrick noticed that most of the letters, especially the vowels and the s, can clasp stylishly with the L or the T to make some really funky combinations. That's how the Alternates font was born. After building a few alternates and about 40 "clasped" combinations around the L and the T, the decision was made to take Runway to the next level: OpenType. The OpenType version of Runway is a single font that contains some serious font magic. Some of the many features the font includes: Over 430 characters for that great character map utility you have, automatic to-and-fro small-capping, discretionary ligatures that call up some pretty funky combinations automatically as you type, and a lot of stylistic and contextual alternates for many characters, ligatures and composites. If your design program of choice supports the features of OpenType fonts (Illustrator CS, Photoshop CS, InDesign CS), then you're in for a lot of enjoyment playing with Runway. For those who don't fancy OpenType or can't handle it, Runway is also available (in Regular, Caps and Alt styles) in the usual font formats for both Mac and PC.

Just as most buildings are based on a structure of vertical columns, horizontal floors, square angles and the occasional arch, most Latin typefaces are designed within a largely uniform, static, alphabetic structure that provides a framework for playing with the style of the terminals —serif, sans-serif, slab-serif, flared, Tuscan— without significantly modifying the deep anatomy of the letters. Orgánica Pro, by contrast, proposes a different structure: curvilinear, subtle and sophisticated, beyond the typical «sticks and balls» model. Organic anatomy, in one word; deliberately dynamic and asymmetrical. Over this radically distinct structure, terminals play a characteristic, expressive role that challenges easy classifications: Is this a serif or a sans font? A semi-serif? A semi-sans? For text or display? Modern or ultra-modern? Joke or serious? All answers are valid. Anyway, its six stylistic variants allow for multiple, diverse uses in text setting, headings and logotypes. In spite of —or perhaps thanks to— its innovative, uncommon structure, Orgánica’s personality is sweet to the eyes, wittily elegant and surprisingly legible.

Melodi is the result of years of working with hand made types on my designs. Every time I draw the letters and words that I need for every design piece. One day I decided to go serious and make a real type of it and “Melodi” is the result of this work. It’s a calligraphic font, built using a regular stroke, and carefully crafted to have nice joins between all the letters. It has some playful but stylish capitals that brings lot of personality to the font. It work super nice either in lowercase writing as in all-caps texts. It looks specially good on lists of words or small sentences. Melodi is a playful but very versatile font, it can be used in lots of different scenarios. From creating a logo, writing the tittles of a catalogue or use it in a poster combined with other types (it work really well as counter point of more classical types) to motion graphics animations or advertising work. It can be cute but it also can do hard work!

Amazing Slab is a typeface family designed by Francesco Canovaro and Andrea Tartarelli as a development of the Amazing Grotesk family designed by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini. Mixing an egyptian serif, low contrast approach with the curved endings and open shapes of humanist sans grotesques, it was developed to embody the energetic and friendly nature of the startup scene: a feeling of innovation, information and energy, with a desire for simplicity and straightforward communication. It can be tricky to find typefaces that can convey the feeling of personal warmth that comes from a handwritten note, custom brandings, special series of products, especially as we type more and more and write with a pen or pencil less and less. To add some more of that warmth to a font, I’ve made Ronet. A duo font based on the my handwriting. Double eponymous styles of the font —Ronet and Ronet Alternative— each have a unique flavor with its own rhythm and character.
