The 1939 French publication “Modèles de lettres modernes par Georges Léculier” ( “Models of Modern Letters by Léculier”) presented some unique and stylized type designs with Art Deco influence. One such example is an abstract modular alphabet constructed of rectangles and circles. This is now available as Modular Deco JNL, in both regular and oblique versions.

Another example of 1930s French Art Deco lettering from the 1934 publication L'Art du Tracé Rationnel de la Lettre (which roughly translates to “The Rational Path Art of the Letter”) resulted in the digital typeface French Slab Serif JNL. This 1538 Schwabacher was based on a font used by Georg Rhau in Wittemberg (Germany) to print Des Babsts Hercules [...], a German pamphlet against roman catholicism written by Johannes Kymeus. Kowalski2 is a decorative, serif, hand-drawn font. It can be used for invitations, greeting cards, posters, advertising, weddings, books, menus etc. The inspiration came from the beautiful font Desire designed by Charles Borges de Oliveira. Kowalski2 Pro is the most complete style, it contains all the alternates and ligatures. To get the alternate glyph just add "+“, ”=" or "*" before the letter in any OpenType savvy application or manually select the characters from Glyph Palette. Kowalski2 Basic has the basic character set with 345 glyphs and no alternates. Kowalski2 A, Kowalski2 B and Kowalski2 C have less glyphs than the Pro one, they only contain some selected alternates and ligatures. Marons is my first font release of 2020. I created Marons from the initial sketch to the digital process and until it was released it took less than 2 months after I launched Black Quality. Marons is an elegant font that I combined from script and serif fonts, thus creating a unique and bold impression. Each Marons letter also has an additional alternate glyph and many variations of swash options, so you can use this font to create logo designs, header texts, t-shirt designs, YouTube cover texts, wedding designs, and others. With its many glyphs, Marons is indeed worthy of being called a collection of fonts in early 2020.

The inspiration for Cuba comes from a sign for the restaurant "La Flor de Cuba" on Bergenline Avenue in Union City, New Jersey. Its blocky, dimensional forms are reminiscent of letterforms seen in signs throughout Latin America from, Colombia, to Mexico, to Spain, to Union City. Its quirky forms are meant to evoke a sense of hand painted signage.

Andreis is a typeface inspired by the art nouveau shapes that appear in the letters of a metal box, made at the beginning of the 20th century by the company G. De Adréis from Badalona in Spain. Its organic and feminine forms evoke the aesthetics of those years and add elegance to the projects where it is used.
