LTC Goudy Initials has been a best-seller since it was reformatted to font format by P22 in 2005. We decided that while it works very well at medium sizes, when it was used extra large, the outlines were not as true to Frederic Goudy’s 1917 drawings as they could be. We decided to redraw from the ground up—and here we have the NEW LTC Goudy Initials! Meticulously redrawn by Miranda Roth, these ornaments referenced original proofs of large sizes of Cloister Initials. In our quest for artwork for this project, we even arranged a quickly sold out recasting of the 120 point size and have produced a limited edition letterpress print from this casting This new digital version features two additional layers to allow for quick colorizing of the central letter and/or the floriated background. P22 Posies is a six-font system for creating multi-colored initial caps in the spirit of illuminated manuscripts. The Tazugane Gothic typeface family is the first original Japanese typeface created by Monotype. Admiral was inspired by and extrapolated from the Art Nouveau lettering incised into the facade of a local hostelry. This gave us some inspiration for the capitals 'A', 'B', 'C', 'E', 'H', 'I', 'L', 'O', 'S', 'T' and 'U'; we then had great fun extrapolating the rest! The source of the name Admiral can be spotted if you look at characters such as 'A', 'H' and 'N'. Admiral's distinctive charm and humour lends it to projects with a 1900s Art Nouveau theme, be they book covers, posters, signage, invitations, cards, or anything else you enjoy!

The starting point for CA Slalom was the aspiration to create a contemporary interpretation of classics like Gill and Antique Olive in terms of aesthetics, flexibility and usefulness. The outstanding S soon became the visual hook and starting from the extra bold extended weight, CA Slalom evolved into a huge family with four widths. It’s rather round instead of squarely with stroke-ends pulled deep and a relatively low x-height. This gives CA Slalom a taste of its own, and although it is clearly contemporary, it has the potential to become a classic.

These four typefaces, Berlinette NB, Lyonette NB, Marseillette NB and Parisette NB, were designed from the same basic shape, a geometric form that avoids strict horizontals and uses more offbeat triangular shapes.
