Fabrikat Mono is a type family designed by Christoph Koeberlin. The monospaced Sans Serif family is published by HVD Fonts and consists of seven weights plus matching italics. It is an addition to the popular Fabrikat type family that emphasises its engineering roots. Compared to Fabrikat, the Mono version evens out not only the characters’ variable widths but also its more subtle characteristics: Letters like B and R are counterbalanced, the height difference between caps, ascenders and even “t” are eliminated, while characters like the percent sign together with the stressed punctuation give a nod to typewriter typefaces. @andinistas presents Bleak , an experimental font designed by #carlosfabiancg. Bleak is based on the imaginative use of contrast applied in the empty space and on the dramatic distributions of the wide and compressed horizontal of more than 400 textured symmetric capitals inspired by compositions of the Lissitzky, Theo van Doesburg, among others. In the Europe of the 20s, scarce resources prevailed, which gave these great artists the firm determination and dedication to create a visual vocabulary, characteristic of the composition with movable types of wood and metal. As they did not readily dispose of the forms of the letters they required, they did not hesitate to construct them with metal rulers, ornaments and other improvised pieces and remains and obtained in the forgotten corners of the typographic composition workshop.

Kapelka New is a soft and friendly display face based on the principles of writing with a soft pointed brush. Inspired by the sweetie paper and soft pointed brush writing Zahar Yaschin designed the first version of Kapelka in 2001. Razom Script is a typeface with deep roots in pointed brush calligraphy that takes advantage of current font technology to go beyond handwriting and reach new limits. A successful blend between printed and handwritten letterforms is visible when comparing upper and lowercase. The weight of the typeface evolve in a way that pushes the limits of a script typeface to suggest new uses. Normally, families are developed in weights, not proportions. Also, having several weights in a script family is rather rare. “More is better” may have been the motto of Richard Austin of Austin and Son’s Imperial Letter-Foundry on Worship Street at Finsbury Square in London when he designed and cut his Antique typeface. The year it was created is uncertain, but it is known to have appeared in a specimen book produced in 1827. At first glance, the upper case letters of Austin Antique look very much like Figgins Antique. But, upon examination, one will note that the Austin face is much darker. In general, the letters designed and cut by Richard Austin have fatter strokes, larger serifs and smaller counters -- more metal and less daylight. The premise was that the darker the letter, the more attention an ad using the typeface would receive. In old pictures of London and Paris one may see walls crowded with posters and “bills” -- competing for the attention of the passerby. Morris and Updike aside, the early nineteenth century marked the beginning of a commercial as well as industrial revolution. Patterns of commerce were changing. With new methods of marketing came the need for new typefaces to support the new methods. Foundries found the display types were very profitable and competed most energetically and creatively for the trade. There was a lot of trial-and-error. Some ideas faded away. Others, like the Antiques or Egyptians, were refined and developed. From them came the Clarendons that were to prove both popular and long lasting -- because they worked. Their job was to sell goods, not please the aesthetic sensibilities of the critics. They did their job well. Each new generation of students learns to write the basic forms of the letters a little differently than their predecessors. The role model is also changing. The cursive handwriting taught in school is getting closer and closer to printed type. The children no longer learn the forms of cursive handwriting required for connected writing, but first the “block letters”, only later should they develop their own individual handwriting from this, which many of them no longer do. And the writing tool is also changing. Of course, script looks different when children no longer learn to write on paper with a fountain pen, but on a tablet computer with the “pencil”. The writing experience is completely different, and the “material properties” are different too. There is practically no writing resistance that would make it difficult to move against the direction of writing. "Die Lara" was created based on the template by Lara Mörwald from the winter of 2023. In order to preserve the handwritten character of the font, "Die Lara" contains several alternates to most letters and numerals, so that different character forms alternate in the typeface. In fact, Sportbet grew out of such a project. “The idea initially came from wanting to provide a client with a stylish, modern and graphically impactful corporate identity logo font,” recalls Wilson. “Although the first sketches looked promising as a typeface, because of time and budget constraints, developing an entire alphabet would be overambitious.” Not to be deterred, Wilson continued to work on the design when time permitted. He eventually completed the font and started final application tests. The results looked good to Wilson, but he felt that the design was missing something. “I hit upon the idea of breaking out the left side of all the closed counters,” Wilson wrote about the design. “This simple device gave Sportbet the kick it needed.” Although one weight and a capital-only typeface, Wilson’s ITC Sportbet should prove to be a powerful and versatile communicator.

The variants FF Info™ Text and FF Info™ Correspondence were developed later for text setting and office communication. FF Info Display The sober and clear forms of the sans serif FF Info Display have been deliberately molded to make them perfect for use on wayfinding systems. The font by Ole Schäfer and Erik Spiekermann not only takes the problem of lack of space into account - it is some 15% narrower than comparable typefaces - the characters have also been designed to ensure they remain legible even in adverse conditions for reading. As text on signs often contains words with which readers are unfamiliar and which are thus deciphered letter for letter rather than perceived as whole words, it is essential to provide for a clear differentiation between glyphs. Additional serifs on the lowercase "i" and uppercase "I" and a small arch on the terminal of the lowercase "l" ensure that it is possible to readily discriminate between these particularly problematic letters. Moreover, sharp corners on glyphs can also make it difficult to read signs with backlighting or when driving past. So Spiekermann carefully reworked FF Info Display to produce FF Info Text, a font perfected for use in this context. Not only can the characters be more generously proportioned, certain features, such as additional serifs to aid with the differentiation of problematic letters, are also no longer necessary in textual surroundings. The upright styles have a double-story "g" while Spiekermann has added oldstyle figures and small caps. FF Info Correspondence FF Info Correspondence has also been designed for setting block text although it recalls the style of old typewriter characters and is specifically intended for use in office communication. The characters of this third member of the family are thus more formal, without rounded terminals but with rectangular punctuation marks. The narrower letters are provided with large serifs to give them more space although, at the same time, this reduces the differences in terms of letter width among the alphabet. Monogramma is a set of 676 beautiful and unique Monograms plus some doubles. There is one monogram for each possible letter-combination! For easy use I packed the monograms in 13 packets. One for two starting letter each. So if for example you look for the monogram "GW", you must choose the packet "Monogramma-GH" -- the G-combinations under the uppercase letters. You now have to type a capital "W" and Bingo you have the combination GW! Some letter-combinations have doubles, just check the numbers 0 to 9 if there is anything to be found.
