It is a source created in the most faithful way possible to how it would be drawn with a stylus pen of that moment. Suitable for titles or capital letters. It is not recommended to use for long text, unless you pretend to simulate an old archive with a similar manuscript style.

Roncesvalles is based on samples of medieval calligraphy. It features a traditional lower case character set with unique decorative capital letters featuring unusual flourishes.

Époque initially came from composing a fashion catalogue with some materials from the Brazilian Amazon. The pieces of the collection used natural caoutchouc as raw material and the design of capital letters use forms that refer to the typography of the historical period 1890 - 1910 in which caoutchouc was the main driving force of the Amazonian economy. This typeface has a complete set of numerals, a set of standard ligatures, in addition to alternates in specific glyphs and a large set of discretionary ligatures composed mainly for UPPERCASE. Manuel, a simple, almost mathematically constructed typeface, includes stylistic alternates for a number of upper case characters. This comes in very helpful when designing logo letterings. Manuel(a) is a very charming, self-confident und exciting typeface design. The idea was to try to apply a given design criteria (also see Volker Schnebel's Marita and Martin fonts) to every single character. In other words, start with a character and develop all of the others from it. This is quite easy for some characters but extremely difficult for others. This process generates creativity and the characters move away from the initial constructed sketch. Together in a typeface, the individual characters are now all of a piece and character.

The Modesto Text Family is text in name only. It’s called Text because it has a Lower Case, and also to distinguish it from the rest of the Modesto clan. Modesto is a loose-knit family based on a signpainters lettering style popular in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. It evolved from the lettering I used for the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus Logo. The Modesto family was not planned. It just happened, a few fonts at a time over about fifteen years.
