Ability is a family of stylish and contemporary handwriting fonts that combine the vigor of hand-drawn fonts such as Affable with the elegance of fonts such as Blythe. What is unusual about Ability is that it enables a word to be formed from a group of letters in a variety of ways: not only the conventional linking of letters as in a cursive script or the placing of letters close to each other on a common baseline, but it uses the overlapping of the swashes and swirls that contribute to the individuality of the characters to integrate the letters into a single word. A former lettering artist at Hallmark Cards, Rob Leuschke now has his own thriving design businesses, Alphabytes and the new TypeSETit. Growing up in St Charles, Missouri, where he still lives, Rob showed great artistic promise at an early age. He earned a BFA in graphic design at the University of Missouri at Columbia. After graduation, his stint at Hallmark Cards gave him the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the best lettering artists in the industry. Rob struck out on his own in 1987 and now boasts a long list of clients from all over the world. Rob has created over 250 custom typefaces, and his work has been exhibited in New York. ITC Ziggy was designed by Bob Alonso, who says it started out as phone doodles in the early 1970s." Alonso rediscovered the sketches years later, thought they revived the feel of the 70s, and decided to digitize the typeface. He liked the form of the letter Z best, so named the font Ziggy. ITC Ziggy reminds its designer of "elephant bellbottoms" and its style as a display face instantly evokes a nostalgia for the 1970s.

Etelka was designed for purposes of corporate identities, branding, product package design and outside lettering. It works anywhere an extremely legible typeface is needed. Package and label design often requires a wide choice of weights and widths: light and narrowed fonts to fit huge amount of mandatory informations onto a small box, or to squeeze text lines around a bottle, fat and wide styles to emphasize information on a poster or vehicle. The regular styles will serve well for business card, small texts and for your website. Etelka’s design idea is wide, open rounded square. Some details are extremely minimized: lower-case “a, n” or “u” lack their typical spur. The typeface has a distinctive industrial expression with all diagonals slightly softened, and her overall strict mono-linear principle is exceptionally broken only for fine optical adjustments in joints. Cyrillic and Greek scripts are present for international business, as well as rich latin diacritics. Etelka is actually very well suited for all kinds of visual communication, especially orientation systems in modern architecture. The first drawing of the font, which was later named “Etelka”, was submitted in 2004 for the Czech Television identity competition and was rejected by the jury. We later concluded that the design was worth extending to the current superfamily of 42 fonts. It is a reliable typeface for corporate identities and websites.

Advertiser JNL is a simple A-Z only font used to make retro-styled titles and names. Based on a popular style of retail signage from the 1950s and 1960s, alternating keystrokes will create a contrast of positive and negative letters. The capital letters have the alphabet in white on black boxes, the lower case have the black letters alone—with the white space conforming to the width of the black boxes. In a pinch, the boxed characters can also be used as initial caps. For a more complete character set with the same style of lettering, use DuBois Block JNL.

Bob Alonso’s Aftershock was designed to resemble woodcut or linocut lettering; its irregular shapes make it stand out from its background. Dominant features of this typeface are its generally square forms and its emphasized horizontal strokes. The strong, heavy alphabet makes an overall regular impression in spite of the idiosyncracies of its individual characters. To emphasize the unique contours of the forms, it is best to use Aftershock in larger point sizes and exclusively in headlines.

ITC Mithras was designed by Bob Anderton and finds its foundation in the worn yet elegant letters carved into stones of a Mithraic temple in Scotland. The capitals are narrow and complemented by a wide, full bodied lowercase. The proportions of the curves vary slightly between characters and this subtle contrast gives the face a mellow appearance while still attracting attention. ITC Mithras is a very legible typeface and hence applicable to a wide range of display uses.

Another variant to the ever-popular Art Deco sans lettering with solid centers (no counters) was found in the hand-lettered title on the cover of the 1933 song "There's A Ring around the Moon". This became the basis for the digital typeface Moonlit Walk JNL, available in both regular and oblique versions.

All 6 fonts use the characters A - K and a - k to show two planets/stars/moons moving across each other. Nice and simple. There's a different number of points on the stars, or they're different sizes, and some appear to pass left-to-right, and some appear to pass the other way. Just type in ABCDEFGHIJK or abcdefghijk and you'll see. Two fonts have all the characters on the same level, (All-Black and Black+White). The Offset font has the 'sun/moon' with one slightly above the other and in black and white, and Half has them all-black. Partial has them even further separated in 2-tone. NearMiss is a very close shave. Comma, hyphen, and full stop/period give just a single symbol; there's a Space, and that's it.

Shell Shock was inspired by stencil typefaces used on military tanks and ammunition boxes. It can be enhanced with a separate set of bombs and warning signs for the typographer in power. Shell Shock Cloak is the ultimate add-on for Shell Shock. This 3-layered 'Cloaking Device' enhances the existing Shell Shock. Put the 3 Cloak layers on top of Shell Shock and suddenly it's camouflaged and you will hardly be able to find it. Use only one extra Cloak layer to give Shell Shock that cool distorted look, like those damaged warsigns on military vehicles. If you only use the Cloak layers you can create background patterns and structures. Try using different color combinations and you'll be surprised by the possibilities of Shell Shock Cloak. It's preferably seen on clothing, skateboards, party flyers, posters or other daring design.

Jan Regular combines an experimental, bold, mono-weight geometric sans serif with the Arabic writing system's means of joining letters. Adding in script-like letter connections, a feature that is found in both western cursive and Arabic type, as well as distinctly Arabic-like accents above and below certain letters, Michael Parsons has created a cross cultural typographic statement. Jan Regular is best used for headlines, and small strings of text, in sizes large enough to view and appreciate the unique counter forms within the letters. This font is one of 10 creations from the young Swiss designer Michael Parson included in the Take Type 5 collection, from Linotype GmbH."

Pexico is a pixel typeface that uses 10 by 14 grid (capital letter) in 8 styles: 4 basic styles for text setting — Regular, Bold, Narrow, and Mono and 4 stylistic variations of the Regular style for display setting — Outline, Dots, Round, and Inverse. It fits the display's pixel grid when used at 20pt size or its multiples. Pexico supports Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek Monotonic scripts, all with thoroughly designed diacritics. ITC Handel Gothic Arabic is a modern Kufi design by Nadine Chahine, created especially for headlines and display purposes. It comes in 5 different weights ranging from Light to Heavy which extends its usage capabilities considerably. The design is mono-linear and with the typical geometric construction associated with the Kufi style. Its usage can vary from headlines to logos to packaging. Given its large counters, it can function quite well in very small sizes too. Its pattern is quite homogenous, so it is not recommended to use this for whole paragraphs. The character set supports Arabic, Persian, and Urdu and also includes Basic Latin.
