In much the same way that the leading character in Scott McCloud's first full-length graphic novel has given his life to art, Comicraft's John 'JG' Roshell has given HIS life to sculpt a unique font to suit it. Andron Ornamente contains a set of about 48 fancy classical typographic ornaments. You can embellish pages, headings, memos, invitations or title settings … you can compose lines and borders and even rich graphical textures. The Andron ornaments perfectly match the timeless classical mood of all Andron typeface fonts. (Note that the glyphs contained in this font are identical to those ornament glyphs in the Italic and Scriptive fonts of the Andron 2 series as well as the Scriptive font of the Andron 1 Latin family.) For the ease of use the glyphs of the Andron Ornamente font are double-coded and also mapped to the keyboard-friendly a–z and A–Z positions. Signature Script is a smooth pen script with large display capitals and small but legible lowercase letters. It’s ideal for logo, signature, poster, brochure or any display use. Signature Script is great for typing headlines or a restaurant logo - it’s stylish but legible enough due to its smooth shapes. Signature Script has at least three alternates for every basic lowercase letters that are automatically connected to next letter nicely. This feature is coded inside Standard Ligature so I recommend keeping that on. There’s also Stylistic Alternates for every standard Uppercase letter and Swash, Stylistic and Titling Alternates on certain lowercase letters that can be used to spice up your words. The font is PUA encoded so you can access extras in most graphic design softwares even without OpenType support.

The vintage display font family Vernyhora. The typeface is intended to be used in those places where the letters when it is necessary to transmit the strong character, stability and historicity. The font has got 6 weights. It contains extended Cyrillic and Latin alphabets. It also consists of the alternative set of characters from the old Ukrainian alphabet. It can be used for the state institutions names. It was planned to be a font of old cities and towns. From the very beginning the font was created in order to execute signboards at the entrance of towns. For the font creation the author was inspired by the graphic designers of the early 20th century, such as Georgiy Narbut and Fedir Krychevs'kyi. From the Ukrainian language the font name is translated into English as mountains mover.

The Café Moskau, across from the Kino International on Karl-Marx-Allee in Berlin Mitte was one of the prestige edifices of the former DDR (German Democratic Republic). Built in the early 1960s, it advanced over the years and changing social developments to a trademark building of the capital. The lettering display on the roof was created by the graphic artist Klaus Wittkugel (October 17, 1910 – September 19, 1985). He had been Professor at the School for Applied Arts in Berlin, and, in addition to the creation of many posters, book covers and postage stamps, he was responsible for the signage of the Kino International as well as for the complete graphic treatment for the Palace of the Republik. The signage for the Café Moskau with the words »RESTAURANT«, »CAFÉ«, »KONZERT« and »MOCKBA« set in capital letters, becomes the basis for the Moskau Grotesk which was developed by Björn Gogalla in 2013. This face should not be seen as an imitation. A few shortcomings were »fixed«. In favor of maintaining the core characteristics some unique features were, however, not relinquished. Lower case letters and the missing capital letters were designed from scratch. It is not surprising that the plain, unassuming geometrical direction of the basic character style forms a bridge to the architecture of the 1960s. Inspired by the then favored, diverse possibilities inherent in the architectural example and wall reliefs, two complimentary pattern fonts emerged.

Any typeface has two intrinsic elements that does´t work at the same levels, form and appearance. These peculiar visual behavior generate a wide range of graphics games. At reading level, we observe a uniform gray spot, but large bodies allows us to appreciate their shapes and counterforms. Milio takes this duality to offer unparalleled service in newsprint and magazine publishing, specially in small bodies but hard and formal cogency in titling. Its wide variety of weights, 10 in total, together with a slight condensation allows us to save space without losing legibility, even under poor printing conditions. Its basic quasi humanistic forms include support for a wide range of details that give great originality and strength. A friendly appearance, but a strong, all-road typeface with internal forms that reinforced visibility in small sizes thanks to its high average eye and the contrast that generates its soft curved external and internal squared angles. The nuances here are fundamental and explain its powerful large sizes, where you can see these contrasts between the curved, organic, humanistic, and straight, angled, almost mechanical shapes. Milio has the bonus of a large multilingual support for all alphabets based on the Latin and Cyrillic, as well as large Opentype features for expert users, among which we have true small caps, ligatures and automatic contextual alternates. Several sets of numerals for use on tables and other “delicatessen” as fractions are also included. Having in mind the daily struggle in newspaper and magazines´ edition, Milio has been designed with the idea of being Cinta´s perfect couple, a similar contrast and proportion typographic san serif family produced by the same Foundry as Milio, to cover almost all the graphic needs in actual DTP.

Sticky Annie is the latest in the series of fonts I've designed that are named after my wife. Little bundles of overlapping sticks or lines make up each character. It's made to look good at small font sizes, but the bigger, the better. At small sizes it's fun and a little childish. At bigger sizes, especially in all-caps, it looks intricate, distinctive and stately.

Transylvanian punchcutter Nicholas Kis cut a leading figure in 18th century Amsterdam. Series of his matrices survived at the Ehrhardt typefoundry. From these Chauncey Griffith at Mergenthaler cut the Janson series in 1936. Morison at Monotype followed with Ehrhardt. Based on the lettering and graphic design of the Beat Generation era, Daddy-O was produced in conjunction with the Whitney Museum of American Art to coincide with the exhibition Beat Culture and the New America: 1950-1965. These way gone fonts and extras both capture and affectionately satirize the graphic design of the era. Package now features poet Rod McKuen in an updated version of the Beatsville album cover from 1959.
