Favarotta was a small settlement on the medieval times. in the Gulf of Castellammare near Palermo, Sicily. Favarotta font is inspired on the style of writing based on Carolingian models, which continued to be used for handwritten liturgical works in Italy. The style show close affinities with the Italian printed books of the period. It combines Roman cursive writing ideas with some of the Celtic innovations in insular writing, including four guide lines, with strokes that flow smoothly from the ascending and descending. Whomp takes its inspiration from the work of an American master in sign painting and alphabet manipulation: Alf Becker . In 1932, Becker began designing a series of alphabets to be published in Signs of the Times magazine at the rate of one alphabet per month. Nine years later, 100 of those alphabets were compiled in one book that became an enormous success among sign painters. In the late 1990s and early 2000s, many Alf Becker alphabets were digitized with blurbs that falsely credit an “Alf Becker typeface”. Alf Becker was not really a typeface kind of guy. He was more of a calligrapher and sign painter. His alphabets were either incomplete or full of variations on different letters, and didn't become typefaces until the digital era. This particular Becker alphabet was quite incomplete. In fact, it wasn't a showing of an alphabet, but words on a poster. Alejandro Paul took the challenge of drawing, digitizing, restructuring, and finally building a complete usable typeface from that partial alphabet. He then extended his pleasure by once again playing with the wonderful possibilities of OpenType. Mr Dum Dum was designed for our game – Ba Ba Dum. In Ba Ba Dum players can learn words in different languages, so we needed a typeface that can support not only all latin characters but also Cyrillic, Greek and two Japanese syllabaries – Hiragana and Katakana. Eventually we wanted to add Chinese support so we designed 1314 Simplified Chinese characters – just enough to cover all words available in Ba Ba Dum plus necessary logograms to translate the games UI.

Dante was designed by Giovanni Mardersteig. Mardersteig started work on Dante after the Second World War when printing at the Officina Bodoni returned to full production. He drew on his experience of using Monotype Bembo and Centaur to design a new book face with an italic which worked harmoniously with the roman. Originally hand-cut by Charles Malin, Dante was adapted for mechanical composition by Monotype in 1957. The new digital font version has been re drawn, by Monotype's Ron Carpenter, free from any restrictions imposed by hot metal technology. The Dante font family was issued in 1993 in a range of three weights with a set of titling capitals. Piano Keybuild is a small font designed for creating piano keyboard layouts. It was inspired by my Yamaha CLP-840, a wonderful digital piano. The face consists entirely of keyboard keys that can be combined to form realistic keyboards. These keys come in four styles: basic outlined keys, filler keys (for adding a second color inside the outlines), keys with note names, and pre-made sets of keys. Keys of a given kind will kern with one another, but only in the order that they would naturally occur on a keyboard. (This makes it easier to spot incorrect key sequences.) It also includes digits 0 through 9 inspired by numerals used in traditional music notation. At this time I found the Album of monograms – a guide for doing handicrafts in families and educational institutions. It was published in St. Petersburg in 18ХХ.
