This all started with a love for Minister. This is a font designed by Carl Albert Fahrenwaldt in 1929. In the specimen booklet there’s a scan from Linotype’s page many years ago. They no longer carry the font. I’ve gone quite a ways from the original. It was dark and a bit heavy. But I loved the look and the readability. This came to a head when I started my first book on all-digital printing written from 1994-1995, and published early in 1996. I needed fonts to show the typography I was talking about. At that point oldstyle figures, true small caps, and discretionary ligatures were rare. More than that text fonts for book design had lining OR oldstyle figures, lowercase OR small caps—never both. So, I designed the Diaconia family (using the Greek word for minister). It was fairly rough. I knew very little. I later redesigned and updated Diaconia into Bergsland Pro —released in 2004. It was still rough (though I impressed myself). In 2006, I found myself needing a readable sans serif. So I went to Bergsland Pro, and eliminated the serifs. I named the font Brinar. I kept a flare in place for the serifs and cupped the ends. I was stunned. People loved it. It’s remained my bestseller until very recently. So, at the end of 2016 I decided that Brinar really needed some help. The flares were basically random. The stem width and modulation variances all needed to be fixed. My old OpenType feature code was quite limited and clumsy. So, I created the 6-font Biblia family. I cleaned up or redesigned all the glyphs. I updated the fonts to the 2017 set of features: small caps, small cap figures, oldstyle figures, fractions, lining figures, ligatures and discretionary ligatures. These are fonts designed for book production and work well for text or heads.

Kuunari Rounded is the rounded version of Kuunari. it is a structured square sans type family of 42 fonts. It has three widths and seven weights in both upright and italic versions. The base form is a round-cornered rectangle, and this form constructs the glyphs throughout the fonts. Kuunari Rounded is a straightforward sans serif. It doesn't make any fuss about itself; it just does the job proudly and confidently.

I am here to deliver! I used a semi dry brush for this font, and when views at large sizes you can really enjoy the brush traces. The font keeps the authentic feeling of something hastily written with a brush. Along with he very tight spacing and kerning, it does it job! Quite good for headlines that needs that extra punk, or T-shirts design, posters, Instagram photos or interactive designs!

MondialPlus is, as the name implies, a font meant for the whole world. MondialPlus is the newer and better version of Mondial. MondialPlus is designed to work in small sizes for bodytext. Only in bigger sizes does the font show its hidden character, it has a curved design to it, that makes it very special. Mondial is a very elegant and versatile font in the tradition of french sans typefaces.

We have adapted the version of our Darwin font for use in Microsoft Office. It only has 4 variants: regular, italic, bold and bold italic. Font weights have been named in a way that can be clearly shown up in the font list in Office programs for the sake of a good hierarchy (the bold variant is quite bold and does not look the same as the original font).

Obelysk Grotesk was designed by the Lanston Drawing Office in the late 1980s. This face is a reconstruction of Spire (1937) drawn by Sol Hess. The skeleton of Spire Roman stands with the serifs removed. Like Spire, this font has no lower case, but does offer alternate cap styles in some of the lower case positions. Spire and Obelysk have both been used prominently in the fashion industry.

Roughcast is a kind of outside plaster, composed of cement and pebbles. It’s not the best looking plaster and it is estimated that in the UK, a roughcast outer reduces the value of a house by 5%. I am in the middle of renovating our old farm, but I won’t cover it in roughcast! Roughcast font is actually quite an attractive brush font. I made it with a brush I found hiding underneath my stove (where it had been for a while). I cleaned it and used it to make a couple of fonts, including Roughcast. Roughcast is best used for packaging, book covers and posters.

Journeyman is an all caps layered display typeface in the sign painter tradition. It has normal width caps in lowercase position and a wider caps in uppercase position. Letters in lowercase position are slightly more rounded than those in uppercase position thus providing two styles. Journeyman supports languages with latin characters and ligatures as well as Greek and Cyrillic. The normal front layer is Line while Silhouette is usually put at the back for a three dimensional effect. Other layer arrangements are possible. Vintage sheet music was initially a partial inspiration for what started out as a simple retro typeface, but the basic hand-lettered design from the Art Deco era lent itself to some further experimentation. Geometric shapes were added to the original monoline letters and numerals and the end result was a marvelous display face called Cafe Society JNL. During the 1930s, "Cafe Society" was popular slang for the financially privileged during the Great Depression who dined at fine cafes while others who were able to eat out did so at diners and cafeterias. A set of transfer patterns for sewing decorative monogram initials on clothing was manufactured by Women's Day magazine circa the 1940s. Designed by renowned Copenhagen-born industrial artist and letterer Gustav Boerge Jensen [April 8, 1898 - June 27, 1954], these initials have been redrawn into a digital font entitled Danish Script Initials JNL. Large initials are on the uppercase A-Z keys, while smaller initials are on the lower case a-z keys and are centered to the larger cap height. Trapper is so named because it exploits a typographic design mechanism known as ink traps purely for graphic effect. Ink traps are a device used by type designers to create significantly higher legibility under adverse printing conditions, especially when the intended use of the type is to be printed at small sizes on mediocre substrate.
