A 1918 poster issued during World War I from the YWCA encouraged women to pitch in to the war effort by joining the “United War Work Campaign”. The Art Nouveau hand lettering of that poster was a slight throwback to the “Western” or “Victorian” style of typography because of the characters having split serifs. This is now available as Village Hall JNL, in both regular and oblique versions

Monadic is a modern singular monospace display font. The typeface is made from groups of single basic triangular geometric units. Monadic is inspired by structured and organic geometry. The name is derived from the Ancient Greek μοναδικός (monadikós, “single”), from μονάς (monás, “a unit”); it is the adjective of monad, an elementary individual substance which reflects the order of the world and from which material properties are derived. Monadic is great for display work, logos, structures, architecture, technology, biology, sports, monograms, quotes, headings and posters.

Damian is a font designed with simplicity in mind and a hint of flare to catch the attention of the user. The sans serif style is based off of the geometrical features of Futura and Univers. With the focus on the circle creating the forms this font is geared towards a feeling of modern art deco. The name comes from a colleague who asked to be named after the font, it was his birthday, how could I say no.

The design idea for this condensed sans serif stencil font was inspired by a post-World War II brass stencil spotted in an online auction. The United States was assisting Europe with much-needed goods, and the text in the middle of a “stars and stripes” shield used for marking the shipping containers read “For European Recovery supplied by the United States of America”. It was the first line (“For European Recovery”) that became the working model for Supplier Stencil JNL, which is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Sanitation JNL is a bold Art Deco sans design inspired by some stylized hand lettering on a 1930s-era WPA (Works Progress Administration) poster and is available in both regular and oblique versions. The topic of the poster was "Your home is not complete without a sanitary unit" and that was recommended by the State Department of Public Health. A "sanitary unit" is the formal name for what rural folks called an "outhouse", and it's presumed the target group were homeowners not hooked up to major sewer lines such as in those rural areas.

Stadia is designed around a series of modular units: quartercircles, teardrop shapes, squares, circles and variations thereon. The versatility of these basic shapes is such that a teardrop, for example, can represent a looped bowl, as in the lower part of the a, while also representing a curved arc at the top of the same character. The strict grid is broken for the T and the Y, and the placement of accents. The alternative – basing a T, for example, across three units – though rational, is far less aesthetically pleasing. As always with type design, one has to know when the internal structural rules should be bent for a more beautiful result. The horizontal lines appear to travel through the letters, bursting into stars in the counters of lower-case characters such as the o and p. The outline version is weighted to the same width as the gaps between the units.

An original design by Richard Isbell for ATF; in exaggerating the tapered stroke introduced eleven years earlier in Hermann Zapf’s Optima, Isbell created the first flareserif to achieve popularity in the United States.

Brazilian designer Eduardo Omine designed his Beret family of typefaces in an attempt to create a warm counterpart to the clean, minimalist sans serif of the 20th Century. The most individual characteristics of Beret are the terminals at the ends of its vertical strokes. They are slightly bent", simulating a subtle flare. Like many classic sans-serif typefaces (e.g., the original Syntax and Univers), this family does not include true (calligraphic) italics. Instead, a masterful set of obliques has been created. As Stanley Morison articulated in the early 1920s and 30s, these slanted versions of the regular "roman" faces may even work better when one wishes to emphasize certain words or passages within a text. The Beret family of typefaces is suitable for numerous applications, in both text and display sizes. Body graphic project at Behance Body is a type family designed for Zetafonts by Cosimo Lorenzo Pancini with Andrea Tartarelli. Conceived as a contemporary alternative to modernist superfamilies like Univers or Helvetica, Body tries to maximize text readability while providing a wide range of options for the designer. It comes in two variants (Body Text and Body Grotesque), each in four widths and four weights: regular and bold for basic typesetting, light and extrabold for display use. Body Grotesque applies to the sans serif modernist skeleton little imperfections and quirks inspired by our research in early 20th century type specimens. Curves are slightly more calligraphic and a light inverse contrast is applied to bold weights, giving the typeface a slight vintage appearance in display use. Body Text, on the contrary, challenges the modernist aesthetics maximizing horizontal lines and using open terminals for letters like “s” and “a” that appear normally dark in modernist grotesques. For both variants, the normal width family is slightly condensed in an effort to maximize space usage; the Slim width is provided for extremely dense texts or side notes while the Fit width is optimized for display usage as in logos, headings or titles. The Large width manages to look elegant in its light weight while becoming a valid heading or subtitle font in its extrabold weights. All the 64 fonts in the Body superfamily include a complete latin extended character set with small caps for over 70 languages, Russian cyrillic, open type positional numbers, stylist sets and alternate forms.

Chipperly is a brand new face inspired by the art of the Edwardian poster, especially travel posters. It’s good for clear ad legible headings which need a gentle and unobtrusive period touch, and is the latest is Greater Albion’s line of faces to explore the ‘small capitals’ idea. In its regular weight, Chipperly’s glyphs are semi-shaded within an outer outline giving a distinctive look, while the Heavy weight maintains the separate outline but is completely filled. The Light form is an outline alone. All forms unite period elegance with the modern need for clear readiility.

This circa 1910 European face was introduced into the United States by a German type foundry traveling salesman during the great depression of the 1930s. We have used it quite successfuly in sizes as small as 10 and 12 point.

Seleniak's outlines are based on the logo of the eponymous MSX video game, also created by its designer. Thus, all ratios are multiples of the typical 8x8 px video character unit, giving the typeface a characteristic appearance and interesting fitting properties.

The first Antique Olive fonts were produced by the French type foundry Olive, in 1962-1966 and designed by poster designer Roger Excoffon (1910-1983). All Excoffons fonts are flamboyant, elegant and highly stylistic. They include the Banco, Mistral, and Calypso fonts. Antique Olive was launched to rival Helvetica and Univers, but the shapes it took were totally refreshing. Antique Olive is probably the most striking Sans Serif since Futura and Gill, and more refined than either. It is perfect for posters and display material as it works well in larger sizes.

I have always been frustrated when looking for a bold condensed face. The choices were the usual? Helvetica Bold Condensed, Univers Bold Condensed or Alternate Gothic #2... all rather dated. I was looking for a really unique, clean, uncluttered sans serif face, so I decided to design one. I have since adapted it to many logo designs. So, in my terms and conditions, I decided to permit the modification of the letter forms for logos and monograms, but logos and monograms only, not the typeface in normal usage.

This began life as a European font that was copied in the United States by Bruce's Type Foundry in 1885. It was caps only and had a fine line "three-D" shadow. We scrapped the shadow, added a lower case, and voila!

Versteeg was originally designed as a font that would work at a singular pixel level. In the spirit of this reduction, Versteeg was designed with an x-height of 3 units with capitals at 4 units. This extreme simplification is what makes Versteeg unique. After designing the square version of the typeface, creating a series of circular versions was a natural evolution. These versions have a resemblance to braille, but don't actually have a relationship with any braille characters. The width of each face is carefully designed to make sure that the letters will align perfectly in multiple lines. Versteeg is, for the most part, a display typeface, and isn't recommended for large blocks of text.

A 1930s-era poster to "See America - Welcome to Montana" was issued by the United States Travel Bureau; one of the WPA (Works Progress Administrations) projects promoting travel and tourism within the country. The hexagon-inspired angular lettering on the poster provided the inspiration for Infrastructure JNL.
