Tom Bernard Anyz had offered his handwriting font at dafont.com, a free-font portal for private customers where Toms Handwritten is enjoying great popularity. We liked the design at first glance – it is so innocent and sketch-like, similar to a quick note or message. We reworked and completed Toms Handwritten for professional usage. The Neology fonts also include both plain constituents, Neology Deco (1920s-style minimalist geometric) and Neology Grotesque (similar to Helvetica etc., but with a small x-height). All fonts have both three-quarter and full cap-height lining figures. The plain fonts have stylistic alternates (“a” for Deco and “g” and “l” for Grotesque).

At this time I found the Album of monograms – a guide for doing handicrafts in families and educational institutions. It was published in St. Petersburg in 18ХХ. Finally, I found an authentic English style monograms set. These monograms are characterized thin swirled lines and lush foliage patterns. I manually redesigned and vectorized two sets of alphabets (narrow and wide) and happy to introduce you Marriage Monograms font. Composed of compositional groups, with optical adjustments in the curves, Disco Display has been designed with special attention to kerning and tracking, allowing its use in both large and medium sizes, starring in large titles or filling entire covers with color. Inspired by the hippie movement, Disco Display provides sensuality, visual richness and compositional splendor, giving rise to the use of multiple colors or patterns in its forms, or rediscovering its counterforms.

A revival of sorts, Freaky Frog BF is modeled after an 1887 design from Central Type Foundry, called Grimaldi. Much warmth and charm have been instilled into the original design through among other means, reworked contours and serifs. Contours are smoothened, liberated from its roughness, while serifs have become somewhat concave. Verticals and horizontals appear to "swell" owed in part to flared shapes. The overall effect, I believe, is one of pure typographic endearment.

Decima – condensed geometric Sans Serif typeface, released back in 2009 and quite successful ever since (MyFonts Rising Star, February 2009). Decima Pro – an upgraded version of Decima, with careful refinements to glyph shapes and extension of glyph amounts, which enabled support of more Latin languages as well as support of Cyrillic. Six more alternate styles have been added to the original six styles. Typeface is released in OpenType format with some OpenType features.

Occula on Behance. Occula: Specimen Manual PDF. Occula is an exploration into high-legibility type although it’s not an effort to design the ultimate typeface in terms of economy and legibility. Instead, the goal has been to strike a balance between modern curves and lively old-style rhythm – using a rational design approach without becoming monotone. Or from another point of view: being humanistic and lively without looking old-fashioned and quirky.

Sharpe is a stylish serif typeface family. The type has been drawn by Måns Grebäck during 2018 and 2019. It is clear, sharp and has brave, lively letter forms but with a conservative backbone. The five font weights balance beautifully in contrast to each other, and each weight has an italic equivalent, totaling in ten styles from Thin to Black. Each style contains ligatures and support for a wide range of languages.

The universe always made me curious as to what could be found beyond earth. For the past few weeks, I’ve been staring outside my bedroom window looking at the same star. Every day at one in the morning, it shone beautifully in the cloudless night sky as I face West. That same star paved way for some inspiration to create a futuristic typeface. Every day, I watch it before it disappears into the oblivion.

Arnold Boecklin is a true Art Nouveau font, evocative of outdoor cafes in the years prior to World War l. Arnold Boecklin seems to be telling a story, with its decorative curves and varying emphasis of strokes. Slice is an experimental, circular, display typeface designed by Superfried. Slice, like its big brother Slash, also features key incisions to form the glyphs. Ornata B is the second of a series of old ornaments that I am trying to save from oblivion. I am not just scanning these, I am completely redesigning the ornaments from scratch, thereby eliminating imperfections. These ornaments have been first designed by the Elzevier printer family from the Netherlands. The designs date back til the 17th century and I think they just had to be saved. Albertus® Nova is a faithful digital revival of Berthold Wolpe’s earlier design of Albertus and is one of the five designs in The Wolpe Collection of typefaces. This new design enlarges the typeface set from its previous two weights into a robust set of five ranging from thin to black, all with extended language support including Cyrillic and Greek. Berthold Wolpe began working on Albertus in 1932, at the encouragement of Stanley Morison. Morison saw an example of Wolpe’s engraved lettering and liked it so much that he commissioned a typeface based on the design. Since then, the original Albertus typeface has been used on book covers, in branding, on signs and in video games.

Taking into consideration some complaints about lack of capital letters and deficiency of heavier weight styles, the Fermo typeface was redesigned to replace the existing font, dated 2002. New Fermo includes two subfamilies—Fermo TRF and Fermo-Uni TRF. Both fonts now consist of three weight styles—light, regular and bold—with significant contrast. During the updating process some minor glyph shape adjustments and changes have been made. Fermo TRF's main distinctions from the previous font are the new capital letters and additional weight (light) style. Fermo-Uni TRF is a unicase font with an additional lightweight style. Fermo is recommended for use as a display font. In large size settings negative tracking is recommended.

Write Now: Write Now is an elegant, informal, handwritten script font, developed from the designer's handwriting, and carefully crafted to create a flowing, legible image. The large, opulent capitals, with their loose loops and curves create a perfect foil for the more subdued lower case characters, presenting a strong but gentle message . Write Now is perfect for: -- invitations -- advertising material where an informal and personal mood is required -- greeting cards -- menus -- book covers Write Now comes in two styles, Write Now Regular and the delicate Write Now Thin. The font has been carefully letterspaced and kerned. A full character set (all upper and lower case characters, punctuation, numerals and accented characters) is present.

These six faces are interpreted from examples shown in Rob Roy Kelly's "American Wood Types" They are not merely scanned copies, but have been redrawn from scratch with various optical adjustments. Kelly points out that the true glory of the American Wood Types are the negative spaces, which are, in their dynamic active forms, the antithesis of the anemic flimsy letters produced by type foundries in the 19th century. The Alphabets Wood Types are designed with digital manipulation in mind. Stretch, curve and distort at will! These designs were released prior to similar revivals from Adobe. Each font has two full alphabets (one full height, one smaller) and numerals. However, certain points and accents will not be found.

HS Gold is based on some modern lines of Naskh calligraphy which supports Arabic, Persian and Latin with a Sans Serif with subtle round on stems and corners. The typeface has been optimized for corporate identity work, editorial design and modern projects when a contemporary and simple look with a similarity between Arabic and Latin is requested. It features swash, ligatures and swash ligatures. Its proportions allow high impact on the tightly set lines of big and small text alike. This font consists of two weights (regular and bold) which can constitute a striking addition to the library of Arabic and Latin contemporary fonts models that meet the purposes of various designs for all tastes and projects.

A large assortment of stencil lettering guides made in the 1940's, 1950's and 1960's have been a treasure trove of wonderful "lost" stencil type designs. Schoolmarm JNL continues this series by font designer Jeff Levine.

Viva Maria could have been used for that famous, hilarious movie by Louis Malle staring Brigitte Bardot and Jeanne Moreau. Maybe in a remake someone will use this very lively script in the credits and advertising material. Olé!
