The vintage typeface returns with the Caniste typeface family. My passion for something with a vintage aesthetic is one reason I created Caniste. Inspired by antique ephemera such as cigar box labels that were common in the 19th century, it harkens back to the beauty of typographic design at that time. The Caniste font family is an all-caps serif font with uppercase titling. It comes in 6 weights: Extra Light, Light, Regular, Semibold, Bold, and Ultra Bold. Although initially designed as a rational/geometric font, Triplex developed into one of Zuzana Licko's most intuitive typeface designs at the time. Its first extensive use was in Emigre magazine #14, a special issue devoted to Swiss designers published in 1990. Triplex was intended as a friendly substitute for Helvetica. The name Triplex refers to the three versions that make up the entire family; Triplex, Triplex Serif and Triplex Italic. Each version of the typeface comes in light, bold and extra bold. For this Byzantine Empire calligraphy font, I had to work for 2 weeks and 3-4 hours a day and search the internet. It made me very tired, but I finally finished it, and it was good. This font can use both latin keyboard and greek keyboard. I also added Greek unicode characters. The cover of vintage sheet music for "With Plenty of Money and You (The Gold Diggers' Lullaby)" from the Warner Brothers musical "Gold Diggers of 1937" had the movie title hand-lettered in a classic Art Deco style. Bold, brash and totally fun, this became the model for Golden Opportunity JNL.

Surfoid is a bold, soft, hazy, lazy and sleepy font-dude that is most happy under an umbrella at the beach holding a drink with an umbrella in the glass. It’s fun, fun, fun until daddy takes the T-Bird away because of the problems that too much fun creates. It’s a rounded off, a little blurry on the lazy edges and would never want to be a serif font. Serif is not the style of Surfoid. Dressed up and sophisticated, this font never wants to be in a suit and tie. Happy is to be in tie dye t-shirt…with its feet dug deep into the cool sand. This is a display headline font best seen at sizes greater than 36 points. It is a full glyph set with upper and lowercase forms. Very Stoked.

Our font of the original was only ten point, so we had to use our imagination to a great extent. As specialists in Victorian typography, we have found that many people do not like the "center alignment" idea, used on several old time faces, but we have been faithful to the original. So there!

Letters in circles are certainly nothing new typographically, but nonetheless they were a favorite tool for sign makers in past decades for emphasizing names or key words in a message. Inspired by an image of an old-time hardware store sign in New York City with Franklinesque lettering, it has been reproduced as Circuletter JNL.

Thalia is a wonderful Artdeco typeface design reminiscent of 1900. Very likely, it was originally designed at that time. Unger redesigned the typeface based on old prints, completed the character set and expanded the typeface to cover the full Latin glyph set. Thalia is perfect for anything about theater, such as posters, programs, etc.

An Art Nouveau alphabet that has stood the test of time, Nicholson French, by legendary sign-painter Frank H. Atkinson, is over 100 years old and going strong. This monospaced version of Galix was commissioned in 2037 by the space exploration company Earth2, as part of a major overhaul of their branding, which had used, since 2021, a generic sans serif (much like every other company). Many specialists in both design and space exploration suggested that this very rebrand started a chain of events that concluded with the invention of time travel in 2041. Contrary to the perceived notion put forward in popular Science Fiction, time travel is only (as of now) possible in the digital realm. It was considered fitting that included among the first files sent back in time should be the Galix Mono typeface, which was remade in OTF format to ensure that it would work with the technology available in 2019. Earth2, for all their insight, did not foresee that the release of the typeface in September of 2019, would lessen the impact of their rebrand. What kind idiots would rebrand a forward looking company with a font that was, by then, almost 18 years old? The subsequent lacklustre response to the redesign didn’t inspire the tidal wave of R&D funding Earth2 had anticipated, and the company went into administration in the summer of 2039, having never invented the time travel which made the release of Galix Mono in 2019 possible. Experts believe that the files sent back in time, although their very sending made it impossible for them to be sent, remained as “time relics” of the future that might have been.

Yakout is an Arabic text face that was developed by Linotype & Machinery in 1956 for hot-metal typesetting. Similar to the typewriter fonts created during this period, it utilises a limited range of letterforms to represent a full Arabic characer set, thus forming a style of type design known as Simplified Arabic. The skilful reshaping of letterforms demanded by the constraints of the original restrictive technology has given Yakout a very dynamic effect, and has helped to produce a design whose overall pattern works particularly well in newspaper setting. Digital technology has enhanced the original design by permitting the introduction of wide characters and some additional letterforms, and by improving the joining of the strong, slightly curved baseline. Yakout is available in two OpenType weights: Yakout Light and Yakout Bold. Both of the fonts include Latin glyphs (from Times Europa Roman and Times Europa Bold, respectively) inside the font files, allowing a single font to set text in both most Western European and Arabic languages. Yakout incorporate the Basic Latin character set and support all languages that use the Arabic script. They include tabular and proportional Arabic, Persian, and Urdu numerals and a set of tabular European (Latin) numerals.

The Scrivano family was designed by Ricardo Esteves Gomes, inspired by some handwritings from the Middle Ages and Renaissance period. There are four elegant organic font styles (Regular, Italic, Bold & Bold Italic) that can be very useful to compose long or short texts in graphic standards that need some 'old style' feeling.

Designed by Francesco Simoncini and W. Bilz, this design follows Times New Roman in structure, but differs in some details. Unlike Times New Roman, the boldface is a weighted version of the roman.

Kwaliteit is the result of a love story. The love story between a font designer and an old embossing label machine. The big bold letters produced by such machines are wonderful to convey a big bold message (big bold messages are fun!), but sometimes you just can't walk around with one of those antique label machines… That's why this font can come in handy! Its uses are numerous… be the boss of emboss!

Developed by Andrea Tartarelli as an extension to Calvino typefamily, Marcovaldo is a heavy condensed wedge serif, optimized for display design. The high contrast and rich texture of the old style letterforms marry digital aesthetics in a typeface that is at the same time impactful and refined, with its nod to the Elzevir and DeVinne tradition.

Chank claims to have the fastest type design, we think we have the youngest. Samuel was merely four years old when he wrote out his first face. We are expecting many more brilliant typefaces from this upcoming designer. Please note that this font has no numbers or punctuation symbols; Samuel just did letters at that time.

The Uglystick font is best described by its name. A typestyle that is all shaken up, scribbled, and scrawled, it’s a grungy typeface for those experimental and not so pretty occasions. Definitely a typeface beaten one too many times with the old ugly stick. Put some grit in your design, for the price, you can’t lose!

Here's a great old face from the H. W. Caslon foundry in London; a real workhorse. The lowercase is eminently readable, so you can set entire paragraphs to good effect. We don't recommend it for setting all caps, but we did take time to kern it well; so you won't get a jumble of ovelapping letters if you do.
