Innova is a new design — a contribution to the tradition of grotesque typefaces. It is an attempt to improve both this genre’s legibility and versatility. Innova consists of two families: Innova and Innova Alt. The Innova family has rectangular dots. The Innova Alt family has round dots — making its personality a little friendlier. Innova is well suited for both text and display use — for graphic design, corporate identity design, magazines, newspapers, books, reports, editorials, web, advertising, signage, etc. Innova includes 16 uprights and 16 matching italics. Quartal is a family of stylish sans serif typefaces of condensed proportions. The family consists of 5 regular weights, 4 condensed ones and 13 extended styles (7 upright and 6 italic). At first there was intention to release just 4 condensed weights for headlines and advertising texts, but later 5 styles of wider proportions were added. As the result the area of applications becomes much wider due to possibility to use the font for smaller point sizes. The name "Quartal", which in this case means city quarter, according to author's associations emphasizes the advertising nature of the design most suitable to the urban environment. Character set of the fonts covers alphabets of Western Europe and basic Cyrillic languages. In addition, it includes a range of alternatives, especially in Cyrillic part. Design was done by Oleg Karpinsky. Released by ParaType in 2010. In 2011 13 new styles of extended proportions were added to Quartal family by the same author. 7 new weights and 6 corresponding italics make Quartal useful for setting not very long texts in advertising and display matter, and for magazines as well.

Bon Air was one of a series of script typefaces cut into wood by the Hamilton Manufacturing Company for the Morgan Sign Machine Co. (makers of the Line-o-Scribe showcard press) in the mid 20th Century. These were some of the last new designs cut into wood by Hamilton until the museum revival in the early 2000s. Bon Air was created in 1958 and trademarked in 1961. The wood type made for Morgan was used largely in department stores to make their own signage. The script styles are reminiscent of sign painters alphabets and evoke a Mad Men era advertising aesthetic. The font was only cut in four sizes: 12, 18, 36 and 72 line. It was distributed by Morgan for use in their presses, but as type high wood type, it could be used on any press. The font was issued with several alternate letters and ligatures to simulate the effect of hand lettering. Its lively strokes and odd details give it an exotic flavor suitable for advertising display work. The digital version includes all of the original alternates plus new characters to fill out a full European character set.

This collection of elegant floral and foliage borders has been put together with their original decorated rules, as well as alternate matching precision rules for added versatility. The major focus of my life and ministry at this point is book design. In the brave new world of 21st century self-publishing a new paradigm has arisen: the indie small shop. One of the problems is that all books are published as ebooks, and many books are published only as ebooks. There are two problems with this: character availability and licensing. The licensing problem is solved by including an ebook license with all of the Librum E fonts. The character availability is the core of the design. OpenType features do not work yet with ePUBs [though it is in the spec, if I understand correctly]. Kerning doesn't work, and so on. So these five fonts have only the 256-character [or less] ASCII set. A separate small caps is included. It has lining figures {proportional} and small caps instead of the graphics. The other four fonts have graphics to give bullet choices in lists, oldstyle figures {proportional}, and care given to character shapes so they will work better without kerning. It's here and it's a major upgrade to Hudson NY. Weight variations and alternate glyphs were some of the requests that were being received for Hudson NY and these have all been taken care of in the Pro Edition of Hudson NY. Hudson NY Pro still comes in Regular, Serif and Slab styles now with completely re-drawn glyphs, there are now six weights as well as italics for each style. Some of the additional features included in the Pro Edition is Small Caps, Stylistic Sets and Alternate Glyphs. Hudson NY is now loads more versatile, it is the perfect Display family for sports, beverage and entertainment. HaruNami (“spring wave”) fuses Japanese ornamentation with the Roman alphabet. All the motifs in the typeface are based on traditional Japanese wave ornamentation. HaruNami has a unique stylistic system that ranges from Simple to Ornate. The Simple font is a purely functional sanserif that is ready to use as text type. The three other styles, Decorative, Embellished and Ornate, progressively apply the wave ornamentation to the capital letters. HaruNami Complete ships as a unified OpenType font, and as a set of individual fonts. If you're using an application that supports OpenType features, we recommend using the Unified font. Thurbrooke is an early 20th century inspired display family, offering two sizes of Roman capitals. Five typefaces are offered in the Thurbrooke family. The Regular face is shaded in horizontally engraved lines and suggests something of vintage advertising captions. A reversed 'Reverso' face, transposing black and white space is offered, as is a 'Black' face with solid letterforms. The remaining two faces are a bit more specialised. Sprout is a low-contrast sans serif, slightly condensed for economy of space, and complete with 6 weights in Roman and Italic. It has open apertures and a generous x-height for clarity of reading. It also comes with a weight balanced italic, which can be used for differentiation or as a standalone typeface in itself. The defining feature of the family is the taut curve, where the inner counter pushes out toward the outer contour, creating a feeling of tension in the curve. Axion SER is an original design by Alex Kaczun. Axion SER is a serif style variation based on his original Axion typeface family of fonts. It is a display font not intended for text use. It was designed specifically for display headlines, logotype, branding and similar applications. The entire font has an original look which is strong, dynamic, machine generated and can be widely used in publications and advertising. Axion SER is a futuristic, techno-looking and expressive typeface with an appearance of machined parts with sharp and rounded edges. Noemí is a broad typeface based on a formally classic skeleton, but with a strong Meccano character, where its quadrangular serifs are the protagonists of the slab style. It is a typeface designed to solve the basic problems of newspaper printing, adapted to a novel and strong communication, in the case of a wide typeface and with generous ink traps making the impression. Noemí was born from the need to create a broad, functional typeface family with a strong compact character intended for use in the press. Intended for editing and layout in a newspaper / magazine with a wide range of subfamilies thought and designed to achieve a diverse graphic functionality; designed from the same common skeleton, with a style based on the mix between the Mecan characters of traditional typewriter fonts and Roman fonts.

Eterea is a formal font inspired in the monumental inscriptions of classic Rome, but not strictly sticking to the ancient roman typographic characteristics. Its unique look is the result of mixing diverse typographic styles, but mostly having traces from the 16th century transitional style. It bears a big difference of proportion between upper and lower case, additionally to the upper case having much more ornamental traces. Eterea has four different flavors of capitals which change very slightly in the cursive versions. In the italic versions, the lower case (actually small capitals) changes substantially its characters to make its reading more flowing and is not simply an inclined version of the letters. Eterea is a very expressive font, ideal for titles and short texts of sober and elegant appearance.

Capellina is a responsive type family comprised of four styles – two script fonts and two small caps romans – built to work together in typographic compositions intended to catch the eye. The fonts will work in your app as you can see in the presentation above. They can be seen as some kind of lettering machines programed to take advantage of swashes (specially at the beginning and and at the end of text lines) and to avoid stroke collisions. Because of the Contextual Alternates feature, the letters will change while you’re writing. Just use any OpenType-compatible software, keep this feature activated and the font’s algorithm will do the rest. In Capellina Script and Capellina Rough you can also use the stylistic alternates / stylistic sets feature if you want to explore some extra letterforms.

This set of letters and ornaments is loosely based on on a typeface that was offered by the DeVinne Press at the turn of the century. We can speculate from its name that this type was used as a display font to try to equate the look of letters on 15th and ­16th century heraldic cartouches, seals, stamps, medals and other inscriptional lettering. The sample was digitized with an “antiqued” outline to further enhance this ancient inscriptional theme. The letters were then grouped in the font with the more traditional Roman letters as the capitals and the Lombardic forms as the miniscules. The original type sample contained some unusual 15th century inscriptional numbers which have been included as extras in the font so the user the has the option to create an authentic looking design.

Do you remember a typeface called Meccanica? I didn’t think so. Well, it was pretty unique – too unique for most people’s tastes it seems. Anyway, this is Technica, Meccanica’s more conservative little brother. Essentially, this typeface is a geometric sans that retains the structure of Meccanica, but tones down most of the hexagonal elements. The chamfered terminals are retained, but sharpened, and a more technical approach is instilled with each glyph being fine-tuned for optimal performance and aesthetics.
