This font was inspired by the embossed lettering on cigar boxes. The letters, or entire words, are often surrounded by raised dots, and that was our idea here. We drew this about 1997, and have been refining it ever since. All letters are on the lowercase keyboard; the end pieces and spaces are on the caps.

ITC Beesknees font is the work of David Farey. He credits a number of sources as inspirations for his work, including Pushpin Studio, Peter Max, Bob Zoell and the Marx Brothers, whose typographic titles he admired as much as their cinematic humor. He was going to name the font 'Horse Feathers' or 'Monkey Business' after Marx Brothers films, then the name got shortened to 'Business', which then got transformed to 'Beesknees'. ITC Beesknees font contains a capital and small caps alphabet.

Electro’s neon light inspiration gives it an interesting way to draw letters. Every part of this font could be part of a circuit board, with no lines doubling over or tracing the same path. The font stands out by occasionally taking shortcuts, such as in the E and S characters, which make up for many characters having to choose a longer route. Altogether, this constant state of quick then slow creates an unpredictability as of a surge of electricity or lightning bolt. Electro supports a number of languages with glyphs that keep up the electronic theme, and is perfect for party culture or futuristic science fiction. Like electric, this is the perfect font for shocking your audience.

ZarHand began as my "speedball" showcard lettering font, used when the boss brought in a pile of urgent work at the end of the day. We would get out our "4 o'clock brushes" hoping to finish at a reasonable hour.

Stamen is the answer to a big question: What would happen if one tried to create a typeface that was ‘out of time’? If a type designer was to turn off the internet and put away the type specimens and just try to explore limbic, phantom history, what might that look like? No slavish explorations of the past. No gropings toward the future. No exhaustive core sample of the contemporary. Instead, using what one remembers of history and our collective vision of the future (usually a future imagined from the past) and channeling that into something that is, hopefully, new… The Bentons meet Frutiger for a Manhattan on a space station while Matthew Carter sways to the sweet sounds of the chorale that occasionally played through the halls of Stephenson Blake. This smear of implicit history expressed without explicit reference—this is Stamen: a family of 12 typefaces with a ton of alternate characters. The bold weight was designed for the LP “I Thought the Future Would Be Cooler” ( http://ittfwbc.com/ ) by the band YACHT in response to their request for a typeface that was ‘lost in time’, and refers to neither strict historical models nor purely futuristic forms. I built a small family out from there. It works well in text, but just as well for display setting. I think you’ll enjoy using it.

Inspired by the idea of the plastic model kits, TCF Plastico is a modular typeface that reflects the spirit of the 60’s, the Pop culture and the industrial design of that era. Despite the very simple and straightforward geometric shapes, TCF Plastico is a very delightful and humorous typeface. Braga Huis typeface is a font family that is inspired by the famous street in Bandung that was made to embodies the atmosphere and the environment of Netherland-Indie city at its golden time, whereby all the elements were designed to give the impression of structural, artistic, and advance. I was not thinking about ‘reading’ when I’ve drawn this typeface — rather on different way of projecting our mental image of the words. Do not try to set a book with this type, please! An inspiration for two fonts of FA Modernista was the second page of Polish vanguard magazine "Praesens" Nr 1 from 1926 designed (as the first page) by Henryk Stażewski. The type applied - Baccarat was a sans serif from Polish foundry Jan Idźkowski i S-ka. Fonts FA Modernista imitate the effect of letterpress with spilled printing ink. Letters of two cuts vary in distortion as in the old days of letterpress technology.

Schoolyard Blues JNL is based on the hand lettered title found on the sheet music for the 1938 song "I Was Late for School". A condensed sans serif with chamfered corners, it reflects the Art Deco influences of the day in some of the letter forms. This type design is available in both regular and oblique versions.

Homelessfonts is an initiative by the Arrels foundation to support, raise awareness and bring some dignity to the life of homeless people in Barcelona Spain. Each of the fonts was carefully digitized from the handwriting of different homeless people who agreed to participate in this initiative. Luis Serra was born in Alicante. There he grew up and even started a family His life was there. But at the age of 35 he split up with his wife and decided to go to Barcelona in search of a new life. And it wasn’t easy for him. He had to turn his hand to all kinds of jobs and didn’t manage to find the stability he needed. Luis is a shy, retiring person who takes great pleasure in the little things in life such as walking in the mountains or celebrating the victories of his football team, Barça. After four years living in Barcelona, Luis found himself in a position he’d never imagined. “The street’s much worse now, there’s more trouble, there’s more tension,” says Luís. In the street he had to learn, as he always had, to move fast, to find a place to sleep and something to eat. Luís is one of those people who don’t let circumstances mould him, but adapts to them and always tries to do his best.

Is it necessary to tell the Gutenberg story? 1456 Gutenberg Pro is the second Gutenberg typeface produced by GLC foundry (look at our 1456 Gutenberg). This font was created from the so called "B42" character set used for the two Gutenberg Latin Bibles (42 and 36 lines), but with a better and finer design than in our first version, more faithful to the finest original printed books appearance. We offer also now a larger choice of the original ligatures and Latin abbreviations, as complete as possible to be usable with OTF specifications. The complete basic alphabet (with "long s" naturally)is strictly looking like the real one (including the curious twisted "X"). We have only recreated the capitals W and J, who was not existing in the time. The numerals, no more existing in the original type set, were inspired from those in use a few years later by early following printers, but matching with the Gutenberg font's pattern. The font includes West (including Celtic), East, Central European, Baltic and Turkish glyphs.

Bombarda is a big gun, and surely a font named like that must have specific dimensions in order to make the text sound loud and powerful. Due to extreme thickness of basic strokes and of maximum possible serifs it will look great on the cover of a comic book, colorful splash screens of computer games as well as other applications where the title should have particular weight. The font was designed by Alexander Lubovenko and released by ParaType in 2016.

Strait passages second part… I tried in this fifth (that's why she took the name "Pentathlon Pro”) consecutive font family to give her a character style with again a strait way of writing. Walking on the same considerations as the previous series (Khamai, Aeolus, Corset & Artios) I tried to give some sense of diversity for the strait passages of character: those fourteen style are the result. And in this family, the “Bold” with "Inlier" and “Bold Italic” with "Inlier Italic” engage in the same way as did the “Layered font families” in the previous series. Also I added a design statement for the twelve zodiac signs, only presented in the Bold, Inlier, Bold Italic and Inlier Italic style. This series is composed of fourteen styles with 628 glyphs each, with true italics and supports Latin, Greek and Cyrillic.

Riga is a space-saving and legible typeface designed to work equally well on paper and on the computer screen. Its personality is clear and practical, yet warm and polite. Camden is based on the types used in Camden's 'Remaines concerning Britaine' published in London in 1638. The object was to avoid the contradiction inherent in most 'distressed' typefaces made to give the effect of the imperfections in old print. This means that apparently worn characters are perfectly repeated throughout a setting. The makeup of the Camden fonts means that, with a little extra keying time, alternate characters may be brought in which overcome this. Also many characters are provided which have 'period identities' such as the long s with ligatures, tied sorts ct, sp and st, swash characters in the italic and the double vv, all of which can add a specific age identity.

Samman is a Kufic simple Arabic typeface. It can be used to decorate public signs in streets, airports, hospitals, schools, malls, hotels, mosques, and other public places. My family's surname is "Samman" which stands for the person who sells fat especially the one produced by cows ("Samn" in Arabic). Consequently, "Samman" Typeface was designed for eternizing the memory of my family. The main characteristic of "Samman" Typeface is the leaf-shaped style for some of its Arabic characters such as "Dad", "Sad", "Faa", "Meem" and others. The distinguishing artistic design of its "Haa" character adds a unique feature to this typeface especially when connected with other characters. The shape of the characters' "dot", "dots", and "point" is innovative; a triangle with a semi-circle shape. "Samman" Typeface is suitable for books' covers, advertisement light boards, and titles in magazines and newspapers. RMU Gilgengart is a revival of Hermann Zapf’s beautiful calligraphic blackletter font which was cut and first released by Stempel in 1952. This font comes with fine ligatures and swash letters. Before working with this font it is recommended to activate both OT features Standard and Discretionary Ligatures in order to get access to all ligatures. RMU Gilgengart contains the following swash letters: D, L, h, f, g, k, round s, and t, whereby you should use the small letters at the end of a word or slogan only.

Heidenberg is a hand lettering work with retro style. This well designed font was inspired from classic typography designs in 60's to 80's. FF Mutual is a friendly geometric sans serif full of subtle, unexpected details. Designer Luis Bandovas drew inspiration from an unlikely source—the credits from one of his favorite childhood shows, Space 1999—and turned that spark into a typeface that is warm and approachable, but contemporary. Bandovas built FF Mutual on a geometric skeleton, but the typeface has enough humanist touches to offset the rigidity usually found geometric designs. These touches are most apparent in the italics, where curved strokes on the “a” and “l” bring a softness to text. Generous spacing, angular details on letters like the “r” and “t,” and flared terminals on the “e,” “s,” and “c,” add further character to the design. FF Mutual’s bold shapes and retro-inspired warmth make it ideal for headlines, where the subtle details can really shine. Katsudon is a Japanese crumbed and deep fried pork cutlet, typically served on rice with egg drizzled over it. There is also a chicken variety. I have been to Japan numerous times (it is my favourite country) and each time I revelled in the great variety of foods being served in street stalls and hole-in-the-wall eateries. I especially love the grandma-and-grandpa eateries that are tucked away in alleys behind the major shopping streets. They never speak English and my Japanese is shaky (to say the least), but the food is always good and we always seem to understand each other. This year, I couldn’t travel to Japan, because of the Covid outbreak, but I can tell you that I miss Japan a lot! Katsudon is a crumbed and deep fried font. It comes with a splash of authenticity, a sprinkling of cheekiness and a generous dose of oomph. Oh, yeah, and double letter ligatures, plus a few alternates as well.
