Brrrrr is supposed to represent snow-covered letters, though it could also be letters covered with frosting. The lower case letters are identical to the upper-case letters. Buried in the font is another set of letters on Christmas tree ornaments. (They are on unicode characters in the 2400 block, circled digits and letters. See here.) The OpenType Stylistic Sets feature makes accessing these letters easier than using unicode, and another font, InsideLetters-Christmas, develops them further. The Brrrrr-Icing style can be used in a layer over Brrrrr to give the snowcap any color, not just the background color.

This time the font's name is meaningless. Maduki doesn't mean 'cool' in Swahili, nor does it mean 'cup cake' in Sranantongo. It is just a nice name. Maduki is a playful font, created with one of my 2 year old son's marker pens (the 'no stain, wash-out' variety), a couple of cups of coffee and a whole bunch of 'speculaas' cookies. Now you're wondering what speculaas is, right? I'll tell you later - in a couple of fonts... Anyway, there's not much meaningful to say about Maduki font. It is nice, it is cute and it comes with alternates!

I designed Mirage using ink and a calligraphy brush to evoke the writing styles of ancient and exotic civilizations. After completing the project, it was filed and forgotten. About 15 years later, I was sifting through some of my old art files and found a "photostat" of the entire character set... a truly a magnificent archeological discovery. Then I thought, hey, maybe it's day has come. Why not share it with the world?... a completely digitized version for the new millennium. Spiral is a digital transcription of a design by Joseph Blumenthal (1897-1990) which was hand-cut by Louis Hoell and cast by the Bauer foundry in 1930. The design with an italic added was later cut for Monotype and issued in 1936 as Emerson 320.

Sign Project JNL is based on vintage water-applied decals once made by the Meyercord Decal Company of Chicago (and later Carol Stream), Illinois. These decals were popular during the 1950s and 1960s for window signage, boat identification, mailbox names and numbers and hundreds of other projects.

For many type lovers, Broadway is the quintessential Art Deco typeface. Designed as an all-caps typeface in 1927 by Morris Fuller Benton for ATF, it was expanded two years later with a lower case designed by Sol Hess, who also drew the inline version, Broadway Engraved.

If you like thematic fonts, this is for you. It appeared in an old lettering book (from the 1930s, if memory serves) and later came out as a film font for photolettering machines. We cleaned it up and drew the missing characters, and here it is. Enjoy.

Belgravia is an Art Nouveau period design based on hand lettering from the 1890s. Like our popular Pantagruel font it has a lot of the elements which would influence later Psychedelic poster lettering in the 1960s. Very nice looking with a good weight for title designs.

BRIGNELL BIG is a two font family designed by Ian Brignell. Bold and honest, it approaches like a dare: Go Big no regrets.
