P22 Curwen was originally designed by an unknown designer. This version was created by Colin Kahn. P22 Curwen Poster is a digitized version of a rare wood type used by the Curwen Press in England in the early 20th Century for poster work. The font was known to have been cut in 6 sizes—from 3-line (3/4 inch) to 16-line (3 inch) in height. The font was based from impressions made of the 6-line type. P22 Curwen Maxima is a hyper-stylized re-interpretation of Curwen Poster by Colin Kahn. As a post-modern poster type, it evokes an organic nature within a novel maximalist framework. It is reminiscent of early phototype display faces with an illogical three-dimensionality which serves to give the font continuity. The capitals are buried beneath stylistic wood shavings complementing the sculpture like quality of the lowercase. Perfect for (almost) any project.

Claude Duflos was a French engraver and printmaker at the end of the 1600s. He produced a great number of beautiful plates, executed principally with the graver very neatly finished. At the base of his work we can appreciate his legible lettering carefully executed with his particular ductus. During this period three different hands were developed in France: Ronde (an script deriving from “Civilité”), “Lettre Italianne” and Bâtarde Coulée that is a modification of ronde. The hand of joined letters, which lent itself to a rapid writing, became a model for English round hand or copperplate style. CDuflos is our typographic interpretation of the lettering style produced by Claude Duflos. CDuflos is presented in two versions: Basic and Extended Pro, which include diacritics for Central European languages. The Pro version also comes with a set of decorative glyphs including ligatures, alternates and swashes, including terminal letters and a set of ornaments.

Inspired in the sweet letters of calligraphy and typography masters of our past; such as Didot, Bodoni and the incredible Herb Lubalin, its aim was to incorporate the decorative accolades from blackletter and copperplate styles of calligraphy into a Modern Roman typeface. Reina reflects sovereignty due to the enveloping atmosphere and the sensation of greatness that can be felt when using it. It has an unique way of standing over paper and screen, being its swashes responsible of an extreme elegance. Similar to what Lian did in his last font Breathe , Reina was designed to be playful yet formal: While none of its alternates are activated it can be useful for short to medium length texts; and when the user chooses to make use of its open-type decorative glyphs, it can be useful for headlines with dazzling results. TECHNICAL Reina is a family with many members. In order to achieve better results when printing, Lian took his time to design the necessary styles: Reina 72 Pro, prepared for display sizes; Reina 36 Pro, for medium sizes; and Reina 12 Pro, the best for text or decorative words in small size. Each of these members have variants inside, which are open-type programmed: The user decides which glyph to alternate, equalizing the amount of decoration wanted. Emulating real handwriting has always been an aim of font designers in the digital age. The standard mainstream scripts and doodles that were available for the longest time have not successfully reached that goal. A letter always looked the same wherever you placed it. Some workarounds, such as letter alternates and ligatures, were used in many fonts, but they were a bit inconvenient to use, and in some cases didn't work correctly because they had to be placed in separate fonts from the main character set. Not until now, with OpenType technology, have we been able to emulate real handwriting, by including multiple character sets in the same font and programming it for smart form changes through letter sequence counting. Secret Scrypt was the first Canada Type font to make it to the bestseller list in the summer of 2004. In early 2005 a New York restaurant chain picked Secret Scrypt to use on its menus and internal signage, but they wanted to look even more like real handwriting, where two or three instances of the same letter used in one word would automatically change and look different from each other. Using OpenType technology, Canada Type produced a Secret Scrypt Pro for that restaurant chain under the direction of Mucca Design in New York City. That initial version contained three different character sets in the same font, and some intelligent programming that determines the sequence of the letters and change their shapes accordingly. Now the retail version of Secret Scrypt Pro is available, with four character sets built into the font for even more variety on the real handwriting theme. The design of Cyan was inspired by features found in classic Roman and styles like Trajan and Bodebeck. It shows the designer's personal preference for geometric Roman proportions while incorporating open centers (B,P,R) and compact serifs. Unlike Trajan, Cyan has lowercase characters in the regular version. The characters stay true to the same features as the capitals, resulting in an unusually distinctive style. The Regular Capitals version contains Roman numerals. Cyan's weight is similar to Trajan's but the horizontal strokes are slightly bolder resulting in better legibility for small sizes, especially for lowercase characters. There are many subtle details in Cyan that become more interesting in larger sizes, for instance the subtle curves in the serifs and the overall smoothness as a result of the mostly rounded angles. Cyan is a robust font that will exceed expectations in areas never explored before. The name is inspired by the Greek word cyan, meaning "blue". The color cyan can have many different variations. One definition is a color made by mixing equal amounts of green and blue light (it also is a pure spectral color). As such, cyan is the complement of red: cyan pigments absorb red light. Cyan is sometimes called blue-green or turquoise and often goes undistinguished from light blue. Obviously the Cyan family is a perfect companion to the Cyan Sans family.

Martin Wilke’s underrated yet influential deco classic from 1932 has both feet firmly planted in the high traditions of Western European calligraphy while carefully and subtly introducing some traits from the sweeping geometric/minimalist vision of the time. In a way, it was one of the representatives of the European anti-type typefaces of that era, when print media was searching for the elusive aesthetic balance between humanism and geometry. This typeface enjoyed some popularity in Germany for a few years, and went on to influence further type designs in Holland and Italy. After the second World War, the black hole that swallowed a big chunk of Europe’s print culture, new influences and technologies overtook the scene, and selective historical emphasis ensued, highlighting some of the era’s designs and overlooking others. Further selective picking in the digital era all but buried Wilke’s body of work - unfairly so, because he was just as important in German type history as Bernhard, Post, Schneidler, Tiemann and Trump. The original metal Wilke Kursiv came in one weight. This digital version goes a long way in expanding on that original offering. Now Wilke’s masterpiece comes in three weights, and with a full Pro treatment including swash caps, small capitals, five types of figures, automatic fractions, and plenty of other OpenType niceties. Each of the Wilke Kursiv Pro fonts comes with over 700 characters, and contains support for most Latin-based languages. Also available are three non-Pro fonts in each weight.
