Zokak is a first-of-its-kind ultra condensed Arabic typeface designed for display uses. The name means an alley in Arabic which comes from its very narrow letters, which makes it perfect in small spaces. Based on hand lettering from a January 26, 1930 ad for the 1930 Fox Studios film "Let's Go Places", the lettering is an ultra bold serif design with numerous ball terminals throughout the character set. If you were a grotesque in mid-20th-century Switzerland, you were expected to be serious and proper, if a little dull. Unlike its dogmatic Modernist predecessors, Formular is a hip Swiss sans serif of the new generation. Inspired by the utilitarian 19th-century grotesques, its precision and and versatility are combined with a slightly eccentric character. A child of its time, it scoffs at the ideology of ‟ideal” forms, yet it is every bit as functional for all its idiosyncrasies, as any self-respecting Swiss sans. Formular comes in five weights with corresponding italics and a monospace companion to the regular weight. Each weight includes special extra-light punctuation, lining tabular and old style figures, case-sensitive punctuation, and stylistic alternates.

In 1932, Xanti Schawinsky (1904?1979) designed an alphabet that combines two styles: a neo-classic stroke contrast paired with characteristics of stencil lettering. This mix is a child of its time and seems to reflect the Swiss and Italian biography of Schawinski. Luca Pellegrini took on the modern look and re-drew the letterforms, interrupted by subtle spaces where thick and thin strokes meet. Although Schawinsky had already designed a complete alphabet and figures in the early 1930s, Pellegrini took the character set to another level, adding currency signs, mathematical symbols and all kinds of punctuation ? anything needed to set more than just headlines. Xants is a blend of Swiss elegance and exclusiveness with Italian charm and imperfection, a combination that never gets old.

Linotype Belle is a casual script face. Created in 1999 by the Swiss designer Isabelle Stutz, the letters in this design have a light, informal nature, and appear as if they were written out quickly, using a writing instrument similar to a ballpoint pen. Linotype Belle has two fonts to offer: Linotype Belle Plain and Linotype Belle Bonus. Linotype Belle Bonus contains more extravagant, swash-like capitals than Linotype Belle Plain's characters; when used together, these two fonts can create a varied, lively impression. Bastion is an ultra-bold text-style font derived from some turn of the century hand lettered signage. It is characteristic of the very bold lettering used in a lot of advertising and product packaging in the early 1900s, a style of lettering which was also the inspiration for the Cooper font, though we think Bastion has a much more attractive overall look.
