Bovary is an elegant, stylized and expressive script font inspired by those beautiful calligraphies of yesteryear, but in a modern point of view. Bovary is full of personality! When I designed it, I started from the Clauques Script. Therefore, Bovary can be perfectly combined with Clauques Sans. Bovary includes almost 900 glyphs with many stylistic variations, swashes, ending and initial forms, catchwords and ligatures for both uppercase and lowercase, assuring almost infinite combination possibilities. In addition, the font includes a set of very useful ornaments to combine and give an ornamental aspect to the calligraphic text. All our fonts are carefully controlled and tested in both aspects: readability and technical aspects. We deal with the kerning pairs, optimization of hinting information to avoid pixel grid, and the precise programming of the OpenType features; as well as drawing smooth curves points and the final touch of each glyph. Isabelle is the closest thing to a metal type revival Jim Rimmer ever did. The original metal face was designed and cut in late 1930s Germany, but its propspects were cut short by the arrival of the war. This was one of Jim's favourite faces, most likely because of the refined art deco elements that reminded him of his youthful enthusiasm about everything press-related, and the face's intricately thought balance between calligraphy and typography. Not to mention one of the most beautiful italics ever made. Jim's early 2000s digitization included mathematical corrections to the original metal cut, as well as some functional improvements for digital use. In 2013, during the remastering of the entire Rimmer collection, Isabelle underwent a considerable rethinking/expansion and was rechristened Isabelle Pro. The new revisions include small caps, ligatures, seven types of figures, automatic fractions, extended Latin language support, stylistic alternates that include lowercase serif angle options in the roman and looped ascenders/descenders in the italic, and plenty of extra OpenType features like caps-to-small-caps substitution, case-sensitive positioning, ordinals, and extended class-based kerning. Now each of the Isabelle Pro fonts includes over 680 glyphs. 20% of this font's revenues will be donated to the Canada Type Scholarship Fund, supporting higher typography education in Canada.

Alizé is a three-weight typeface inspired by the chancery italic of the 16th century. It is a high-contrast face, created with syncopations in axes and proportions and subtle irregularities that form a lively and delicate weave, suitable for setting a single word, a special expression, or a short block of prose. The family does not contain a roman, and instead promotes the italic as a primary style, a common printing convention in the 16th and 17th centuries. The italic lowercase predates inclined capitals by about twenty years, and as a nod to this typographic evolution, Alizé’s capitals, small capitals, and figures are very slightly inclined to match the energy of the lowercase. The low x-height and long ascenders and descenders, features associated with finesse and luxury, are reminiscent of the Venetian-style italic, but are further emphasised. Unlike the Venetian italic, however, Alizé has a sharp slope, giving a prominent sweep across the page (alizé is the name of trade wind). Each font of Alizé has a character set count of exceeding 700, and contains an abundance of ligatures, dynamic fractions, ornaments, and pan-European language support. They have also been manually hinted for the highest-quality display on both print and screen.

Helsa is a slim and eccentric serif for headings and short texts. It’s a modern interpretation of the narrow Elseviers of the early 20th century. The letterforms are based on Dutch samples, and in the details there are references to both American type catalogs and letters from the foundries of Wolf and Herbeck. Due to the compact proportions of characters and the high contrast of strokes, Helsa doesn’t take up much space in the line and allows you to increase the type size freely, drawing the viewer's attention to the text. The typeface is suitable for branding museums and exhibitions, alternative music bands, independent clothing and perfume brands, and for any topic related to design or history. Helsa’s character set has more than 1600 characters. Mexica is a typographic tribute to Nahuatl, the tongue of the Aztecs, but also the lingua franca of ancient Mexico. ‘Mexica’ is not only the feminized, latinized form of the word ‘Mexico’, but also the name of the inhabitants of this place: the Me-xic-cah. Nahuatl, when composed in the Latin alphabet, abounds in diagonal letter shapes: XYZ are ubiquitous in its classic orthography, just as KW are in its modern one. This visual feature is further enhanced by the absence of some rounded letters such as BDG that depict inexistent sounds in this millenarian tongue. Besides, Nahuatl is language with a tendency to form very long words that give the text quite a distinct appearance, unlike English, for instance, with its abundance of short words. Mexica was designed to look well in all these contexts, and to perform as well as a contemporary, daring, stylish serif type family, with several weights for text and display composition. Further, its terminals and general structure —devoid almost completely of straight lines—are inspired by the angled architecture and ornamentation of the ancient city of Mexico- Tenochtitlan. Mexica received an Award of Excellence at the Type Directors Club of New York annual competition.

Universo and Universo Stencil by Mauro Andrés and Peggo Fonts is a display font family for “Caos Sagrado” specially designed for informative fanzine and magazines. Its name “Universo” comes from the quote “we have to talk about the horrible things of Universe” with the main idea of supporting and help to expose social problems. Inspired on Retro-Futuristic fonts and poster design and old scientific publications that is becoming a new design trend nowadays, and strongly influenced by the Italian type designer Aldo Novarese’s work, developed in the 50’s. "Universo CS" and "Universo CS Stencil" were produced between mid-September and October 2018 by Mauro Andrés under the creative direction of Victoria Rivas and those versions were publicly showed at “Impresionante” (a massive independent printing expo in Chile) with a printed specimen. That phase of the project was updated and completed in March 2019 and was lastly finished between November 2019 and April 7, 2020, developing it in six styles, under the co-production of Peggo Fonts. "Universo" and "Universo Stencil" are both suitable for headlines and short text lines, music and concert posters, books and magazines covers, branding, logotype and graphic design. All stylistic alternates are accessible via OpenType features or character map.

Quell is a novel attempt to bridge the gap between geometrically constructed shapes on the one hand, and modulated strokes and subtle calligraphic influence on the other hand. The visual tension in Quell stems from conflict between two tendencies: The perfectly round shapes are geometrically constructed, yet the contrast of stroke widths and oblique line terminations suggest calligraphic roots. How this dualism affects typographic impression is up to designers and typographers using Quell — as variable font the seamless transition between modulated contrast and linear appearance offers unique typographic possibilities. Linear appearance gives the text a solid and compelling voice, whereas the modulated styles convey elegance, vibrance and a delicate tone. Quell is suited to display setting, headlines, way finding and identity. The combination of linear and contrast variants provides typographic range to convey different stance while rooted in the same visual heritage. In short paragraph typesetting the fonts have a modern look and characterful tone, but should not be overused for longer texts. Quell has been in development for over a year, and is the proud third release under the Underscore label. Released in 2018 this design by Johannes Neumeier is available from the Underscore webshop as well as selected retailers.

Tejuela (Spanish for “Wood Shingle”) is a neoclassical type inspired by the wooden architecture of the ancient churches of Chiloé, an archipelago in southern Chile; which are World Heritage Sites. This typeface has rough and broken forms but with soft strokes. The neoclassical characteristic of Tejuela is due to the architecture of these temples, which belong to this style but adapted to wood with excellent quality and ingenuity by Chiloé builders using a material available in the area. Therefore, this typeface reflects the tradition of the fonts of that period, but adapted to the coarseness and warmth of the southern wood of the world. Tejuela is useful for extensive texts in literature, history, art and heritage; as also for short and large phrases in headlines according to the occasion. Tejuela has eight variants in Roman and Italic versions, with small caps, Old Style and Lining numbers, ligatures, alternative glyphs, fractions, among other OpenType features; special mention to the capital letters Swash of the italic versions, which serve to generate delicate compositions. In addition, it has two stylistic sets to compose border ornaments inspired by the Chilota Architecture: colonnades and corners, only using the numbers on the keyboard; it is important that the line spacing has the same value as the font.

Trump Gothic is a reconception of ideas from Georg Trump's seminal 1955 Signum typeface and its later reworking (Kamene) by Czech designer Stanislav Marso. Originally cobbled together for a variety of film projects in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Trump Gothic family was made available for the general public in 2005. Shortly thereafter, it became a common sight in movie credits, on posters and magazine covers, in fashion branding and on corporate web sites. Though countless attempts have been made to emulate it, its unique totality and attractiveness to layout designers was never really topped. Its appeal is largely due to its double-duty toolbox: An economic functionality that allows it to pack large amounts of information in small spaces, and a clear, modular aesthetic that gives it the ability to emphasize short text in large sizes, all without sacrificing legibility or giving in to dated or over-rehashed industrial gothic forms. The typeface was redrawn, refitted, optimized and greatly expanded in 2013, and the result is Trump Gothic Pro, a multiscript family of six fonts, each containing over 1020 glyphs and a wealth of OpenType features, including small caps, caps-to-small-caps, stylistic alternates, unicase/monocase alternates, fractions, ordinals, class-based kerning, and support for Latin, Cyrillic and Greek locales.

Vesta™ was originally designed as an orientation and information system for the city of Rome, the birthplace of the roman alphabet. The forms are inspired by letterforms found on a frieze in the Vesta temple in Tivoli. Vesta has more contrast than the average sans serif but, like many of other designs of Gerard Unger, let in a lot of light - the letterforms are open, the counters generous. Relatively narrow and hence economical - without feeling too compressed - Vesta is an ideal solution for newspapers and magazines, and numerous other applications, including corporate identity and more. Big Vesta was intended as Vesta's display partner. However, it also performs very well at small sizes - its large x-height and short ascenders and descenders make it particularly economical, making it ideal when space is limited; for example on a mobile display. Vesta and Big Vesta are now available in seven weights - from Light to Black - and include everything necessary for setting extended texts well: italics, small caps, and a range of figures, including old style, lining, and tabular figures. All in addition, Vesta is available as a family of OpenType fonts with a very large Pro character set and supports most Central European and many Eastern European languages.

TagBanger WADE1 is the first in a short graffiti font series. This series will showcase the hand-styles of various mature street artists that Okaycat is working with. This first release highlights the style of one such graffiti writer, WADE1, who has an eclectic writing style after many years proliferating street art. Long-term graffiti artists develop their own style over their careers, spending as many endless hours honing their letter-forms as any full-time professional typographical artist. Style, individuality, and originality are everything. These attributes are key to the graffiti artist's tao. A writer who copies, or "bites" loses respect -- their work will be painted over or "crossed out" by all other writers. Okaycat's TagBanger series aims to demonstrate just how widely these individual styles can diverge, likely due, at least in part, to the social pressures of a community that ruthlessly punishes copycats. WADE1's tags were transformed into vector format from a generous sampling of their most recent scrawls. Our TagBanger series may not be composed of the most legible or beautiful fonts, but we imagine there are uses for these whenever highly unusual handwriting is needed. TagBanger WADE1 is extended, containing the full West European diacritics & a full set of ligatures, making it suitable for multilingual environments & publications.

Dream Within a Dream was the title of exhibition of Czech art inspired by the work of Edgar Allan Poe curated by Otto M Urban and Veronika Hulíková. Three dozens of artists exhibited their works in the Czech National Gallery in 2020. The cataloguje was printed with the use of the present typeface. Artists took significant interest in Poe's literary oeuvre only after the writer's untimely death. This was mainly thanks to the poet Charles Baudelaire who translated Poe's works to French. As early as in the second half of the 19th century, prominent artists such as Edouard Manet, Odilon Redon, James Ensor and Gustave Doré created remarkable artworks inspired by Poe. Although the first Czech translations of Poe's woks date to the 1850s, artworks inspired by them only appeared several decades later, at the turn on the 20th century. Poe's poems and short stories inspired František Kupka and soon after him, Josef Váchal, Jan Konůpek and František Kobliha. Alfred Kubin, a German artist born in Bohemia, made illustrations for the German translation of Poe's collected stories. Later on, Alén Diviš and František Tichý created further Poe-inspired artworks. Poe was a source of inspiration for Jan Švankmajer and more recently, František Štorm and Jaroslav Róna.

Condell Bio Poster is part of the bigger Condell family: a project that involves series of typographies that started to be conceived and developed since 2006. It also includes a bigger legibility version and a sans serif. Condell Bio is very versatile and can be used in the agroindustrial production. Thanks to its strongness and its charm, it can be used in different projects where a short and powerful message is required. For instance in a brand marketing campaign. The Condell project follows in terms of time the design of Comalle (a font also designed by Juan Pablo de Gregorio in 2006), but if we compare them, Condell seems to look for a major range of uses rather than a mere stylistic inspiration. And even if it keeps in its shape some organic forms, Condell seems to be much more similar to a sans serif traditional typography. Condell's fat and soft forms and its nice endings, inspired through spontaneous brush strokes, give it a very peculiar pleasant connotation. Its Italic (10 degrees inclination) have been produced singularly, not automatically calculated by the software. Condell Bio Poster is composed of 2 styles: the regular and the italic. Each one of them have 599 characters and is composed of 206 languages.

Press Gothic is a revival of Aldo Novarese's Metropol typeface, released by Nebiolo in 1967 as a competitor to Stephenson Blake's Impact (designed by Goeffrey Lee). Though Metropol enjoyed a few short months of popularity and use in Italy, Germany and France, Impact won the technological outlasting battle by moving on to film type then to computer outlines bundled with mainstream software, while Metropol never made it past the metal state until now. Too bad really, since this is one of the few faces that could have played well with all the horrendous stretch'n'squeezing of the 1970s. Just like its inspiration, Press Gothic aims to be a fresh alternative to big economical poster fonts with clear sans serif forms and an urgent, strong, yet elegant design appeal. In the summer of 2008, Press Gothic underwent a major linguistic and aesthetic reworking for an international publishing company. The result of this on the retail side are new small capitals and biform/unicase additions to the main font, as well as expanded language support that includes Cyrillic, Greek, Turkish, Baltic, Central and Eastern European, Maltese, and Esperanto. Press Gothic Pro, the OpenType version, combines all three fonts into one, taking advantage of the small caps feature, and the stylistic alternate feature for the biform shapes.
