The Confetti is a typeface created about 1930 by the defunct José Iranzo foundry in Barcelona, and imitates the forms and gestures of handwriting created with a round nib as “Speedball”Series B. XPawnShop is a typographical chess font; the pieces are letters. The Pawn is an awkward letter P, the knight is a horse in the shape of an h, the bishop is a decorative letter B, the rook is an elephant with an R shape, the queen is a Q, and the king is an ornate K. Two other XPawnShop fonts are made of very simple pieces, but as a bonus, both have the set of dominoes from the unicode block 1F030 to 1F093. Cottonwood is a group effort of the typeface artists K.B. Chansler, B. Lind and J. Redick and displays the unmistakable look of the Wild West. It is stylistically modelled on the typefaces used in advertisements and signage toward the end of the 19th century. Typical for these capital alphabets are the split serifs which emphasize the markedly decorative character. Cottonwood is a kind of homage to the Western typefaces (woodtypes) which became popular through their use on Wanted signs in Western films. A narrow, modern Slab Serif. JOSEFOV is directly derived from the sans serif text font ”Hedwig“. Therefore, of course, it pairs best with “Hedwig”. The basic thought was to create a font with heavy rounded serifs in the style of ”Clarendon“ but which hardly reminds one of that particular font. The form principle of rounded serifs is applied whenever possible — for example at the points where the individual strokes of the characters join one another. JOSEFOV seems very technical, very constructed (and truly is). In order to soften up the rigid impression, the serifs are applied at some points contrary to the tradition handed down, as with the upper case A C G K M V W and the lower case a b d h i j k l s t. Historically there is no example of the laterally oriented serifs of capital and small s (S) and C G. On the other hand, the double-sided serifs on the stems of b d h k l appear at the beginning of modern times in the very first serif types from five hundred years ago. The double-sided serifs of A M V W were also customary in the first decades of printing. JOSEVOV is particularly suitable for topics such as nature, folklore, culture, music, nutrition.

A light sans serif designed for Susanna Lakner’s 22 Days mail art project. The characters were drawn on each of 22 evenings throughout November 2004. In December the drawings were scanned to create the Susanna font.

Glamour was originally released by Lanston Monotype in 1948. It is based on Corvinus designed by Imre Reiner. P22 Designer Colin Kahn has added some unusual variants to this family illustrating that Glamour can be taken too far and have somewhat unglamorous results.

Dramaturg is a handwritten, brush, fully connected script with ligatures and contextual alternates to help with flow and readability. Dramaturg is the most complete style, it contains over 600 glyphs, 7 stylistic sets, contextual alternates and ligatures. Every lowercase letter has six variations (uppercase letter has four). When the font is used in OpenType-savvy applications, the 3 variants of glyphs are automatically alternated to achieve a random-like effect. Dramaturg A and Dramaturg B have less glyphs than the Regular one (no stylistic sets), they only contain some selected alternates and ligatures. Language support includes Western, Central and Eastern European character sets, as well as Baltic and Turkish languages.

My son Konstantin wants to become a cook. So I thought it would be a nice idea if I designed a script for his fabulous future menus as a gift for him. I think he will become a great cook. The three Konstantin cuts can be mixed. The A cut has the most straightforward letterforms, the B cut has more swashes in the capitals and swinging descenders and last but not least, the C cut gives you some fancy lowercase letters. Kigara was Elena’s first attempt at designing a text typeface. The result is not exactly a conventional book face. Strongly influenced by handwriting, Kigara is best suited for short texts set at medium to large sizes. However, its open letter shapes and subtle serifs make it a very readable face in smaller sizes as well. Kigara will also make headlines as a modest, light-hearted display typeface. Kigara is named after an African mushroom - hence the mushroom vignettes and African ornaments in the OpenType version and the ‘B’ set. Both the sets also include small caps, alternate figures, special ligatures and other expert glyphs.

Linotype Pisa is part of the Take Type Library, selected from the contestants of Linotype’s International Digital Type Design Contests of 1994 and 1997. It was designed by Swedish artist Lutz Baar and is a modern text font based on the humanistic Old Face style. The dynamic lines and harmonious proportions make Linotype Pisa a pleasant and legible font. Distinguishing characteristics are the elongated cross strokes of the capital A, B, E, F and P and the slanted cross stroke of the lower case e, typical of Venecian Old Face characters of the 15th century. Linotype Pisa is well-suited to longer texts and headlines.
