To tell you the truth, I don’t know what a juicy advice is - other than I guess it’s something positive and maybe even helpful. Well, what I do know is that this Juicy Advice is positive, helpful and playful. It’s a handmade comic font, with an outline version to compliment the Regular version. The outline version is also handmade, but not entirely sticking to the boundaries of the shapes of the Regular version. This leaves the outline somewhat off, but deliberately in order to keep the authentic feeling.

Accolades C and C2 share the same main ornaments but differ in finishing. Accolades C uses pearls and diamonds, C2 does not. Accolades CX is an additional fitting set of borders. All fonts are available in two variations. A clean one and a distressed, grungy version (old). Surf and Turf JNL was redrawn from hand-lettering on a souvenir folder for an event believed to be sponsored by Miami Beach's exclusive Surf Club on March 19, 1938. Entitled "Steeplechase Pier March 19 Surf Club Stroller", it's now lost to time whether the event recreated some of the fun and games of Atlantic City's famed Steeplechase Pier at the Surf Club, or if this was a special event trip to the New Jersey venue. It's also highly possible that the Steeplechase Pier referred to in the title was the one at Coney Island.

Lemongrass is a connected script typeface for display use. It was inspired by brush lettering and the sea and the strong winds that exist in Porto. These winds are called "nortada", which was also the developing name of the font. It has low contrast and smooth connections to get a good rhythm in the text. Zeta was developed by Roy Cole, the British typographer and book designer. It is his second typeface family, completed in 2006, and comprises six fonts. As with his other typeface families - Lina, Colophon and Coleface - Zeta is a sans-serif typeface, particularly notable for its fluidity and strong legibility. Whilst the proportions of Zeta are derived from classical models, the letter forms themselves are totally modern in concept. For example, when used for blocks of text little line spacing is needed to achieve good readability. DESCRIPTION With Skill I wanted to create something wild. Something that splashed the letters with life. To do this, I knew I'd have to break the barrier between analog and digital, so I took my best brush and started to play. Throughout the years as a type-designer I've met and become fan of many calligraphers. My belief that only a good calligrapher can make good typography (1) has become even stronger. I'm now absolutely sure that only practice improves the skill, especially in this field. So, with this in mind, I started a font which was a challenge for me because sometimes the gap between paper and screen can be gigantic. Skill is another of my attemps (2) to capture the spirit of the pointed brush, its expressiveness, the passions and fears of the artist. This font is about freedom. Freedom everywhere. Movement, velocity, passion. To achieve this, many alternates and ligatures per glyph were designed. Use it on magazines, posters, book covers, music albums, t-shirts, skates, tattoos. NOTES (1) This is mostly referred to script fonts, though text fonts made by designers with a deep calligraphic background have at least to me, an extra charm. (2) See my fonts Live and Indie. TIPS Thanks to Open-Type, the font gives the user the chance to play and get many wonderful results: In example, using the font with “discretionary ligatures” activated will give more life to the written word. It started in 2007 with Chennai, the first of a three-part series of sans that I envisioned with slab serif counterparts. Each font would differ from the others in how the stem terminals were expressed. The initial font was extremely well received, and a revitalized and remastered Chennai made its appearance two years later, complete with new weights and new, novel OpenType features. Then came Madurai, a variation of Chennai based on the same core, only without the rounded stems. Chennai’s rounded stems made it distinctive and great for headlines but left it lacking appeal as copy--a problem that Madurai easily solved. And now comes Sangli, the final iteration of my original 2007 vision. Sangli is a happy medium. Like Chennai, it’s great for headlines--but not too distinct for copy. Sangli keeps the same core structure as the other two, but new less sharp forms give this latest font a friendlier look that’s more versatile than the original Chennai and less formal than Madurai. The font includes a whole range of six weights from light to black, along with condensed and extended options as well for a total of 54 fonts. There are plenty of OpenType features, including small caps. Alternates include normalized capitals and lowercase letters that include stems for when you want a more traditional look or when you’re writing copy. Sangli also supports over 70 languages that use the extended Latin script. Use Chennai, Madurai, and their slab serif variants interchangeably with Sangli, too, for even more options in your work. All three complement one another well. So when you need a balanced font that stands boldly on the page and commands your reader’s attention, look within and find your Sangli.

Ernie is a new animated typeface by Jim Ford, intended as a complimentary serif design to Freeman Craw’s fun retro hit, Ad Lib. The serif drawings mimic the behaviors of Ad Lib, on a Clarendon-esque structure. The application of Ad Lib’s behaviors to a serif design highlights it's quirky characteristics; notably in the added contrast, the bending of serifs and the translation to Ernie’s ball terminals. The lowercase g is probably the most extreme example of this "translation." Ernie has a savvy system of text animation built in; with dualing lowercase alphabets, 34 ligatures, and an extensive glossary of custom words, all programmed to automatically make intelligent pseudorandom wordshapes. It's called RMS, aka the Randomagic System. The glossary of “buzz” words is based on the most common and powerful words in marketing and advertising, as well as words that are specific to Ernie’s intended uses.. Additionally, Ernie Alt provides the opposite randomization effects in lowercase text, thus reversing the rhythm of the bounce. Ernie Sorts is a bonus font which includes fun printers fists, expandable banners and other graphic elements. The Ernie character and cartoons were created by Johnny Sampson, as a visualization of the typeface, it's character and it's unique features.

Magenos Soft is the rounded version of Magenos typeface family. It is a modern geometric sans serif family characterized by its simplicity and extensive functionality. With its open apertures, geometric architecture and low contrast strokes, it expresses a sincere tone with a modernistic, neutral, yet friendly personality. It has been designed to work well for a wide range of applications and is a reliable workhorse. Equally suitable for print and screen usage, it works well for both text and display at a wide range of point sizes. Stretto (Italian for narrow) is a revival, correction and expansive update of an Aldo Novarese reverse-stress font called Sintex, which he did for VGC in 1973. Openly idiosyncratic and playfully rebellious in its design, this alphabet fuses the straights and rounds in an unusual manner, riffing on the idea of hand-made sign and wood type forms while adhering to its odd grid’s parameters. In spite of its counter-stress, its legibility is high and even, helped by its unicase forms and very distinct counters. First released in 2007, it became quite popular with film studios and nostalgia designers (Sintex was the font used for David Bowie’s Hunky Dory album and Life on Mars? single). A dozen years later we revisited it for an update. Stretto now comes with over 660 characters and includes Pan European language support.

Vagebond is a monoline family in three widths, Condensed (C), Normal (N), and Extended (XT). With Vagebond I was inspired by a very old television I once saw on a junkyard. I wanted to create a typeface with round edges that would fit within the 4 x 3 proportion of the screen. It had to be monoline, because that gives it a very simplistic and minimalistic look. Having created the XT width I felt it needed the both complementing widths to make it complete. The Condensed version, for me, is the funky rounded version of the DIN. I love DIN, but it sometimes feels just a bit to ‘normed’ for me. Vagebond C brings in a bit more personality. Although Vagebond looks kinda ‘oldstyle’, it works very well in futuristic designs. It feels best in combination with a super futuristic 3d object.

Designed so you do not get tired of reading it, but at the same time, so that you notice its particularity. I've been working on a usable sans serif for body copy since the mid-1990s (though I certainly did not know it at the time). This one works well. It started life back in the mists of time as a scan of an old German font by Carl Fahrenwaldt. It was developed fully as a synergized serif with strong traditional roots and released as Bergsland Pro. Now it finally makes it to where I was headed all along as a sans text font. This is a well modulated humanist, sans serif font family with many OpenType features and over 600 characters: Caps, lower case, small caps, ligatures, swashes, small cap figures, old style figures, numerators, denominators, accents characters, ordinal numbers, and so on. It is designed for text use in body copy. But it also works very well for elegantly stylized display.

I like Ravens. In fact, I like them so much that I have a tattoo of a Haida raven! Ravenheart was more or less modelled on my Qilin font, but it is completely different. It is scary and inky, but it has a certain flair as well. A bit mystical, a bit evil, but I am sure you’ll find many uses for it. Comes with a fluttering of diacritics.
