The Vtg Stencil fonts from astype are based on real world stencils from several countries. The Italian stencils that I chose as a model for this font are roughly based on classic French stencil letters. Please compare the figures (numbers) with their French counterparts. However, the Italian stencils are made with a different production technique. The design of the letters is clearly not punch-cut into the plates, maybe they are drilled, milled or etched. Details such as the serifs look bold and clumsy, and when using the stencils as they are meant, with viscous sign paint, smaller details easily fade away. So I took my freedom to design a font close to the original design but adding several typographic tweaks to let it shine, hoping to get closer to the intended design idea of these Italian stencils. Juicy is different… in a good way. An art deco-inspired, high-contrast, upright semi-script, layered typeface best describes the playful letterforms that make up Juicy Pro (semi-connected) and Juicy Simple (unconnected). Great care has been taken to provide a wide complement of options and intelligent letter combinations thanks to OpenType. And that’s right, Juicy *is* a layered semi-script typeface. Lemongrass is a connected script typeface for display use. It was inspired by brush lettering and the sea and the strong winds that exist in Porto. These winds are called "nortada", which was also the developing name of the font. It has low contrast and smooth connections to get a good rhythm in the text. The font is named after the Armenian writer Theodoros Grigor Lapchinchian (Armenian Թեոդորոս Գրիգորի Լափչինճյան: March 5, 1873, Constantinople — May 24, 1928), who in 1912 published book "Type and Letter" (Armenian: Տիպ ու տառ), dedicated to 1500th anniversary of the creation of the Armenian alphabet and the 400th anniversary of Armenian printing. Patent Reclame manages to be light-hearted, while clearly showing its blackletter roots both in the shape of the individual letters and the rhythm of text on a page. The designer is unknown. Schriftgeisserei Flinsch of Frankfurt a.M. cast the face around 1895. Nicolete Gray shows a quite similar face called “Graphic,” from Stephenson Blake in 1896. Personally, I don't think that Patent Reclame looks like an English design, but I do not have any proof one way or the other. The numbers are proportional, intended for posters, not spreadsheets. Two ornaments are included, an art nouveau rose at #172 and a lilypad with long tendril at #177. Great for invitations, posters and flyers announcing fun events. Do not use for obituaries. Quite readable in smaller sizes for short blocks of text. I really like the buoyant quality -- a nice combination of discipline and enthusiasm.

TpLlum is a typeface designed by TwoPoints for a festival in Barcelona called ‘Montjuïc de Nit’. Llum means light in Catalan. In the Montjuïc de Nit project the font was used in white over a dark grey background, letting the light of a backlit poster shine through. For this purpose the typeface had to be very bright, which was made possible by its heavy cut.

Etelka Slab is a slab-serif variation of Stormtype's Etelka. In the process of adding serifs are applied some arched elements to emphasize its unique character. The usual range of OpenType functions is present as well as multi-lingual capability. You can use Etelka Slab wherever you intended to put Etelka, but with even sharper, louder expression. It shines in corporate identity and branding.

Sumergible Script is a striking font that simulates it has been written with a dry pointed brush on textured paper. Its purpose is to decorate and accompany photos, illustrations and textures by letters designed with a generous horizontal spacing between lowercase which reinforces the idea of hurriedly and interrupted cursive calligraphy. In that sense it is spontaneous and useful to form vibrant words and sentences, shining short messages on book covers, posters and other graphic design media. Floyal Rush is 100% handmade, it’s organic looking and super friendly in a funky wobbly way! Although inspired by grafitti, Floyal Rush has got this cartoon and whimsical vibe to it. I don’t know about using Flyal Rush for massive text, but I would suggest short words and shout-outs - but I dare you! Go ahead and challenge me! I have added 3 versions, which fit together: Solid, Shine and Regular.

Messner is an extra-light all-caps face, especially suitable for larger sizes. Simplicity, purity and readability of its classic forms were on the first place in the creation process.
