Skippy Sharp was drawn by Skippy McFadden in 1995 and faxed to Mister Chank Diesel. Chank completed the character set, added extensive kerning and created a very friendly, informal marker handwriting font. Finally PODIUM Sharp consist of 234 styles: from ultra compressed hairline to extra expanded heavy. Main purpose of this project was idea to make hybrid between different modular and geometric woodtypes that I found in old polish specimens: Rex, Blok, Bacarat etc. Thanks to big range of different styles, PODIUM will be perfect choice for visual identities, posters and display usage. For better comfort of using PODIUM I’ve prepared new idea of styles naming based on Frutigres’s Universe and Climbing evaluation. First digit means width and the second weights of style. Bash Brush is a calligraphy script, handwritten font, with a fresh and modern look. Because of the spontaneity there are plenty of Standard Ligatures, Discretionary Ligatures and Swashes to avoid frequent repetition of letters. If you find a single repeating glyphs, you can change that by toggling between Stylistic Alternates. There are ligatures created for Cyrillic too, few ornaments and artworks with dry-brush texture. Jerky Tash is supposed to look somewhat handwritten, that’s why it has got jumpy letters, different sized serifs and a loose kerning. The font is spaced to look okay when used without kerning, but the font definitely deserves to be viewed using the kerning pairs!
