Titling Stencil JNL is an extra bold stencil treatment of R. Hunter Middleton’s ‘Karnak’ (produced in 1936 for Ludlow) and is a companion font to both Bookkeeping JNL and Bookkeeper JNL (a lightweight version of the type design). Middleton based his ‘Karnak’ family of typefaces on the geometric slab-serif ‘Memphis’, which was designed in 1929 by Dr. Rudolf Wolf and released originally by the Stempel Type Foundry of Germany. According to Wikipedia, ‘Karnak’ was named after the Karnak Temple Complex in Egypt, in reference to the fact that early slab serifs were often called “Egyptians” as an exoticism by nineteenth-century type founders.” Titling Stencil JNL is available in both regular and oblique versions.

The hand lettered credits from the 1942 British film comedy “The Goose Steps Out” became the model for Goose Creek JNL, a simple sans serif design available in both regular and oblique versions. According to the Internet Movie Database (imdb), “A bumbling teacher turns out to be the double of a German general. He is flown into Germany to impersonate the general and cause chaos and hilarity in a Hitler Youth college.” The title is a parody of the “goosestep” style of marching by German soldiers during World War II. As a variant on the movie’s title, the font was named for Goose Creek, South Carolina – a charming community just northeast of historic Charleston.

Deco Bevel is a filter font based on Deco, an original Open Window classic. It came about while I was experimenting with light and shadows using 3D rendering software and Photoshop. Its ideal use is as a display font.

Narcissus Open is a heavy typeface designed by Walter Tiemann in 1921 for the Klingspor Foundry in Germany. It is a shaded wide roman using a very modest amount of white highlighting. Serifs are extremely delicate, almost ornamental. This elegant old typeface gives a feeling of importance and authority and is highly effective when used in large display sizes. Narcissus Solid lacks all highlighting and becomes more useful in smaller sizes. Narcissus Open and Solid are also available in the OpenType Std format. Some new characters have been added to this OpenType version. Advanced features currently work in Adobe Creative Suite InDesign, Creative Suite Illustrator, and Quark XPress 7. Luscombe is a boisterous and lively display face, recalling the shaded and outlined faced much beloved of 1920s poster and advertising artists, while offering a regularity of outline that those faces often did not achieve. Derived from the world famous Rennie Mackintosh Font, the Moonlight version gives a hollowed effect with a drop shadow to the Classic Rennie Mackintosh lettering. The "Moonlight" name comes from one of Mackintosh's less well known watercolour paintings - The Harvest Moon (1892).

Wayang font was named after the beautiful shadow puppets from Indonesia. The font was hand made, using a bamboo pen and Chinese ink on rough, eco-friendly Italian paper. Wayang is spiky, ultra-thin, yet extremely legible. It comes with extensive language support.

Lonely Annie is a fun font for titles or body text. Each letter of the font appears hollow, but with thick borders -- like a little stained glass window. It looks great in small and large sizes, especially with "Outline" or "Shadow" turned on.

Sunny South JNL is a cheerful, simple sans lettering design with rounded terminals. Stripping away the drop shadow of the limited character set Shadowland JNL (which was originally inspired by examples of wood type), Sunny South JNL now offers a complete character set.

Inspired by a trip to Sequoia National Park, this bold, all cap font is reminiscent of the great west and wide open spaces. Upper case letters are solid while lower case letters feature shadow lines. Great for titles, branding and logo work.

Woodhaven Initials JNL were designed using an outline cast shadow wood type set against a rectangle with horizontal "engraving" lines to add background texture to the initials. An ampersand is on the corresponding keystroke, and a blank rectangle is on the period key.

Many similar fonts existed in Europe around 1900 and a bit before. This one was made at the Wollmer Foundry in Germany and, except for adding the requisite modern monetary symbols and other such niceties, we preserved it quite faithfully.
